32: Section 32“Is this the direction we’re heading in next?”

Upon hearing this,

Wang Mo pondered for a moment before slowly saying,

“The mall section does need to be further developed, but there’s no need to rush right now; just let it develop gradually.”

In the previous life’s Douyin, the mall had its own separate section.

You know,

even live streams didn’t have a separate homepage section, but the mall did.

This is enough to show how profitable the Douyin mall was.

And Wang Mo had already told others that Douyin would develop a mall.

However, the reason he wasn’t rushing the development of the Douyin mall now wasn’t for any other reason.

It was because he felt that,

since they were going to develop a shopping section, why not go all the way and directly develop a new software?

“I have other ideas now,”

Wang Mo slowly said.

“What ideas?” Zhang Fan and the other person asked simultaneously.

Wang Mo didn’t answer their question immediately; instead, he suddenly asked back,

“Have you ever thought about any methods to increase the commission ratio for live commerce without reducing the merchants’ profits?”

The two exchanged glances.

“The current 10% ratio is almost the limit; if we continue to increase the ratio, it will inevitably reduce the merchants’ profits.”

Wang Mo smiled.

“What if,”

“we establish our own delivery system and logistics warehouses, and connect with merchants?”

After hearing Wang Mo’s words, Zhang Fan and the other person were both somewhat surprised.

“While this could indeed increase the commission ratio without reducing merchant profits, the cost of building our own logistics and delivery system is too high.”

“A live commerce alone simply cannot support self-operated logistics and warehouses. Even if we specifically opened a mall section, I don’t think it could bear this cost.”

“In the end, the profits we gain might not even surpass the previous 10%.”

Listening to Zhang Fan’s words,

Wang Mo took a deep breath, his expression becoming much more serious.

“Live commerce and the Douyin mall section cannot support the cost of self-operated logistics and warehouses.”

“But what if,”

Wang Mo paused,

“we develop our own shopping software?”

Chapter 34: Wang Mo’s Idea, Overseas Version of Douyin is About to Launch!

Listening to Wang Mo’s words,

Zhang Fan and the other person were momentarily stunned.

“Boss, are you serious?”

Wang Mo slowly nodded.

Actually, in the mid-stage of Douyin’s development, he had already decided that the next software to be developed would be an online shopping type.

After all, once Douyin launched live commerce and the mall section, the demand for goods would surge.

It would be better to seize this opportunity and directly launch a shopping software.

Among the many shopping software in his previous life, the one Wang Mo valued was the only software that truly surpassed Taobao, Pinduoduo.

When Pinduoduo was launched, no one expected that this software, mocked by many, could truly snatch the position of the top shopping software from Taobao one day.

Hundred Billion Subsidy, ‘Cut a Price’, Spring Festival Gala Red Envelope, every promotional choice by Pinduoduo played a huge role.

It could even be said that,

Pinduoduo’s rise was a classic case of surrounding cities from the countryside.

You know,

Taobao’s development in this world is even more exaggerated than in the previous life.

Before Pinduoduo appeared in the previous life, at least JD.com could still snatch a piece of meat from Taobao’s mouth.

But in this world, JD.com had long been acquired and merged by Taobao.

So, Taobao in this world also has JD.com’s self-operated logistics and warehouses.

Its market share has long exceeded 95%.

To defeat an enemy of this caliber, perhaps only Pinduoduo could do it.

Moreover, Wang Mo doesn’t intend for Pinduoduo’s development to be exactly like the previous life, becoming synonymous with inferiority.

He plans to take its essence and discard its dross, developing a Pinduoduo unique to this world.

Therefore,

this enhanced version of Pinduoduo will also have self-operated logistics and warehouses.

After all, once self-operated logistics and warehouses are established, Douyin’s live commerce and mall section will also benefit.

As for Pinduoduo’s software code, Wang Mo has no worries.

After all, Pinduoduo’s underlying code is essentially nothing special; it’s just a very ordinary shopping software.

Pinduoduo’s success was entirely due to its business decisions.

So, Wang Mo, knowing the successful steps of Pinduoduo, can naturally replicate Pinduoduo’s path to rise.

Not to mention,

the shopping festivals of Taobao in the previous life do not exist in this world, so Pinduoduo can launch them first.

At the same time,

after seeing Wang Mo nod,

Zhang Fan and the other person couldn’t help but take a deep breath, their expressions becoming much more serious.

“If we have our own shopping software, then it can indeed support self-operated logistics and warehouses.”

“But Boss, you should know that the online shopping market is now completely occupied by Taobao, right?”

“Taobao is the undisputed ultimate king in the field of online shopping.”

“Over so many years, countless large factories and companies have developed shopping software wanting to get a piece of the pie from Taobao, but in the end, they were all mercilessly crushed by Taobao.”

“Even the shopping software developed by Penguin Group simply cannot directly compete with Taobao.”

“If there truly is a genuinely monopolistic software in Yan Country right now, then Taobao definitely holds a position.”

Zhang Fan paused.

“If we say that,”

“developing a short video software that has never appeared before is of simple difficulty,”

“then developing a shopping software to compete with Taobao is directly of hellish difficulty!”

“No,”

Qin Haisheng patted Zhang Fan’s shoulder and added,

“It should be hell among hells.”

And listening to their words,

Wang Mo slowly took a deep breath.

“I am naturally aware of all the information you mentioned.”
