You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

5: Section 5The team leader beside him was also telling the Department Manager the information he knew.

“This software called Douyin is a short video type that has never appeared on the market.”

“And although this software has only been launched for a month, its daily active users have already exceeded 100,000.”

“What’s more, the most crucial thing is that the average daily usage time of users of this software has actually reached more than fifty minutes, while our Penguin Video users’ average daily usage time has just barely exceeded an hour.”

Listening to his subordinate’s report, the Department Manager couldn’t help but click his tongue.

After he finished reading the document in his hand, he finally looked up and said,

“This software has only just been launched for a month, and its content volume is not yet enough.”

“If the content volume were fully sufficient, their users’ average daily usage time would at least double.”

Being able to sit in the position of Penguin Group’s Department Manager, his abilities were not weak, so he quickly perceived Douyin’s terrifying future potential.

Even he himself was startled by the conclusion he had reached.

“How can a short video software have such great appeal?”

After muttering, the software Department Manager looked at the team leader in front of him.

“What are your plans?”

The team leader slowly began to speak.

“This software can be copied.”

“The design logic of this kind of short video software is not complicated; with our Penguin Group’s capabilities, it won’t take long to create a competing product.”

“Coupled with the influence and promotion of our Penguin Chat, we will quickly be able to crush this software.”

Listening to the words of the team leader in front of him, the Department Manager also lowered his head and pondered for a moment.

“Go and prepare a preliminary proposal now; I will submit it for expedited review, and it can be approved in three days.”

“One month.”

“Our Penguin Group’s short video software will be launched in one month!”

Chapter 6: Refusing Equity Investment, Penguin Short Video Launched!

Three days later.

Gentleman Software Development Company.

Inside Wang Mo’s office.

“Mr. Wang, are you really not considering accepting our investment?”

“Douyin is just starting now, and the road ahead is still long. Perhaps this investment of ours can help Douyin overcome a certain difficulty.”

Listening to the other party’s voice, Wang Mo directly shook his head.

“I still stand by what I said.”

“We currently do not accept equity-based investments.”

“You’re not willing to exchange twenty percent of the shares for five million in investment?” This person still wanted to persist.

But Wang Mo still directly shook his head and refused.

“Alright then, since Mr. Wang is so insistent, I won’t force it. Goodbye.”

After he finished speaking.

This person turned around and left Wang Mo’s office directly.

Seeing this person leave, Zhang Fan walked straight in.

“Boss, this should be the fourth investor you’ve rejected in the past two days, right?”

“Twenty percent of the shares for five million in investment is a great deal, why won’t you agree?”

“That’s five million! I’ve never seen that much money before.”

Wang Mo smiled.

“You still underestimate the potential of our Douyin.”

“Work hard, you’ll have your good times later.”

Because he had transmigrated, Wang Mo knew very well what a behemoth Douyin would be in the future.

By then.

Let alone twenty percent, even 0.001 percent of the shares wouldn’t be purchasable for five million.

Precisely because he knew Douyin’s future potential.

Therefore, Wang Mo rejected all equity-based investments and only accepted a small amount of non-equity, small-percentage profit-sharing investments.

But even so.

The total amount of these investments had already allowed their company’s scale to expand several times over.

Although only a month had passed.

But the number of employees within the company had already expanded to twenty, and the office area had also expanded several times, with several surrounding rooms all being rented out.

And just as Zhang Fan and Wang Mo were chatting.

Qin Haisheng, with a serious expression, hurriedly pushed open the door to Wang Mo’s office.

“Boss, this is not good.”

“Look quickly.”

Qin Haisheng handed his phone to the two of them.

The page displayed on the phone at this time was a news article about Penguin Group.

“Penguin Group is currently developing a micro-video software targeting young people.”

“Penguin Group claims that this software will be the first micro-video software, a trend exclusive to young people.”

Looking at the news on his phone.

Wang Mo slowly took a deep breath; what was meant to come would eventually come.

Zhang Fan, on the other hand, immediately cursed loudly.

“What ‘world’s first micro-video software’? Changing one word doesn’t make it not a short video!”

“This Penguin Group is too disgusting!”

“No, we have to sue it! We are clearly the world’s first short video software.”

Seeing Zhang Fan getting a bit agitated, Wang Mo hurriedly said,

“Don’t you know Penguin Group’s style? Their goal might just be to get us into a legal dispute with them.”

“Although it’s just one word changed, if it really goes to court, we genuinely won’t have too many options.”

“The most crucial thing is that the trial time for commercial cases of this level is often extremely long, and some small companies without much capital can easily be dragged down by Penguin Group’s tactic.”

After he finished speaking.

Wang Mo looked at the two of them.

“What?”

“Are you two so lacking in confidence in Douyin?”

The two exchanged glances.

“That’s not it.”

“It’s just that this is Penguin Group after all, one of the largest enterprises in the country right now. Most other small enterprises that it targets don’t end up well.”

“There are countless software and games that have been copied and killed by Penguin Group.”

Listening to their words, Wang Mo smiled and patted them both on the shoulder.

“Don’t worry.”

“Douyin is not as fragile as you imagine.”

“Just pretend that Penguin Group making short video software hasn’t happened. Do what you need to do, and don’t let this matter drag down your work.”

“If Penguin Group wants to make short videos, then let it.”

After hearing this.

Zhang Fan took a deep breath and nodded.

“Okay, Boss, we trust you.”

Then the two left Wang Mo’s office on time.
