22: Section 22However, Wang Mo seemed to not care about Penguin or Douyu at all; after Zhang Fan finished speaking, his expression remained unchanged, still very calm.

“Boss, are you really not worried?”

“With Douyu’s mature live streaming system and Penguin’s promotion, it will be too difficult for us to get a share of the live streaming market from Douyu.”

Facing Zhang Fan’s doubts, Wang Mo finally slowly spoke.

“You, Penguin, and those people from Douyu, have all failed to grasp a very crucial issue.”

“What issue?” Zhang Fan asked, a bit puzzled.

“That is,” Wang Mo took a deep breath, “the audience for our Douyin live streams actually has a low overlap with the audience for Douyu live streams.”

“People who watch our Douyin live streams might not necessarily like Douyu-type live streams.”

“And the convenience of Douyin live streaming is also incomparable to Douyu live streaming.”

In this world, Douyu live streaming not only lacks a mobile version, but even its streamer backend doesn’t have a mobile version.

In other words, all content on Douyu live streaming is based on computers.

To watch Douyu live streams, one can only do so via a computer; although Weikan has integrated a backend of Douyu live streaming, Weikan users can only watch live streams and cannot interact.

Although they are both live streams, the different platforms driving them lead to huge differences.

The ability to take out a phone and watch live streams and interact anytime, anywhere is something Douyu cannot achieve.

“If they are both live streams, why would the audience overlap not be high?”

Zhang Fan did not understand Wang Mo’s meaning.

Just as Wang Mo opened his mouth to say something, the hall outside the office erupted.

“Live streaming has officially launched!”

“In an instant, over a thousand users have activated the live streaming function!”

Voices of other employees echoed in the hall.

Seeing this, Wang Mo spoke to Zhang Fan.

“You go and take charge of the live streaming section first; I don’t want any accidents to occur on Douyin’s first day of live streaming.”

“It won’t be long,” he continued, “before you understand what I mean.”

“Okay.”

After nodding, Zhang Fan turned and left the office.

At the same time, Wang Mo also took out his phone and opened Douyin.

After casually swiping through a few videos, a live streaming page appeared before him.

And when Wang Mo clicked into the live streaming section, a dazzling array of various live streams appeared before him.

Although there were many live streams on this page, it was not messy; one could clearly see the different types of live streams for each streamer at a glance.

Looking at the live streaming page before him, Wang Mo suddenly thought of something and clicked on his following interface.

A familiar figure was conducting her first live stream in her life.

“Hello, can you see me?”

Ye Youxue had just positioned her phone towards herself in her dorm room.

When Wang Mo found her a few months ago, she applied for a Douyin account and started posting videos.

Wang Mo also taught her many techniques for shooting various types of videos.

Months passed, and now Ye Youxue’s followers have exceeded one million, making her one of the users with the most followers on Douyin.

So, after learning that Douyin was going to start live streaming, she also applied for a live stream room immediately.

And as soon as her live stream started, thousands of viewers poured in.

At this moment, as Ye Youxue’s voice fell, the bullet comments in the live stream room instantly erupted.

“I can see, I can see! I didn’t expect Douyin live streaming to have such good picture quality.”

“This should be because the streamer’s phone is good, right?”

“This is really convenient; you can watch live streams with just a phone.”

“Streamer, can you see our bullet comments?”

Looking at the content on her phone, Ye Youxue nodded.

“I can also see what you guys are typing.”

Seeing that it was indeed a real-time live stream, many viewers became excited.

And finally, some viewers discovered the gifts below and started sending them.

“Sending a small flower to the streamer.”

“The effects of these gifts are much better looking than Douyu’s.”

“I just checked, the most expensive gift, the Carnival, costs three thousand.”

“Streamer, streamer, you look much prettier in the live stream than in the videos. Do you have a boyfriend?”

Looking at the bullet comments on her phone, Ye Youxue’s face flushed, and she shook her head.

“I don’t have a boyfriend yet.”

“But I do have someone I like.”

Upon hearing the streamer say this, the bullet comments instantly couldn’t sit still.

“Who is it, who is it? Streamer, hurry up and tell us!”

“Tell us and we’ll send gifts immediately!”

“He’s a senior from our school, and he’s currently starting his own business.”

Ye Youxue’s voice slowly rang out in the live stream room.

“Actually, I already confessed once when he graduated, but I was rejected,” Ye Youxue pouted.

And listening to Ye Youxue’s voice, the bullet comments surged again.

“I can’t believe someone would reject the streamer! Who is he, who is this senior?!”

“How hateful! How dare this person reject the streamer?”

“Streamer, don’t be sad. A recent college graduate won’t achieve much; that senior might not even be able to afford food now.”

“That’s indeed possible. Starting a business is inherently difficult, and most passionate college students eventually compromise with life. I think this person is probably the same.”

“This person must be regretting it somewhere right now.”

Just as everyone was discussing intensely, Wang Mo entered the live stream room.

“Senior, you’re here to watch my live stream too?”

Seeing the familiar username, Ye Youxue happily blurted it out subconsciously.

Wang Mo’s Douyin username was simply “1234”.

But as soon as Ye Youxue finished speaking, she realized something was wrong.

Instantly, the number of bullet comments exploded.
