You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

6: Section 6Seeing this, Wang Mo slowly opened his phone and looked at the news about Penguin Group entering the short video market.

However, at this moment, he was not only unafraid of Penguin Group’s short video platform launching, but he was even looking forward to its release as soon as possible.

Because only then would users discover the true excellence of TikTok.

With a comparison between the two, it would be easy to distinguish the superior from the inferior.

Without comparison, there is no harm.

By then, the people at Penguin Group would understand how difficult it would be to create a software comparable to TikTok.

At the same time, because Wang Mo’s calm attitude spread throughout the company, the news of Penguin Group entering the short video market did not cause much trouble for Wang Mo’s company.

Most employees remained unaffected in their positions.

Under these circumstances, TikTok continued to develop peacefully for another month.

Because several videos related to TikTok had made it to the trending topics during this period, TikTok’s downloads had now exceeded one million, and its daily active users had reached 300,000.

And on this day, many employees who came to the company did not immediately start working; instead, they were staring at the app store on their phones, waiting for something.

On this day, TikTok’s competitor, Penguin Micro Video, officially launched.

Chapter 7: Penguin Group’s Crazy Promotion, TikTok Not Taken Seriously

“Penguin Group’s short video software is online, it’s called Micro-Watch.”

“The interface, the core, the UI, it’s almost identical to our TikTok.”

“Penguin Group is too shameless! It’s one thing to make a short video software, but it’s almost identical to ours in appearance.”

At this moment, outside Wang Mo’s office, the voices of employees rose and fell.

Clearly, the shamelessness of this competing software far exceeded everyone’s imagination.

Most employees actually had no confidence in how their TikTok would compete with Micro-Watch.

Among everyone, only Wang Mo acted as if nothing had happened; he didn’t even download Penguin Group’s short video to take a look.

Only he understood that Micro-Watch posed no threat to TikTok whatsoever.

“Boss.”

“Penguin Group has started aggressive marketing since Micro-Watch launched.”

Zhang Fan pushed open the door to Wang Mo’s office.

“Many colleagues just saw Micro-Watch advertisements on various social platforms and media.”

“In terms of advertising and promotion, Penguin Group’s investment is probably hundreds of times more than ours.”

“Do we really not need to do anything?”

“Many big creator accounts on the TikTok platform have been secretly poached by Micro-Watch; many people haven’t posted videos these past two days.”

Looking at the advertisements for Micro-Watch popping up on various apps, Zhang Fan was clearly a bit restless.

Wang Mo, however, simply waved his hand.

“Don’t worry about these things. We will continue to follow our own pace.”

“Blacklist those creators who jumped ship and don’t give them a chance to return to TikTok.”

“Okay, I’ll go compile the list now.”

Although they had an estimate of Penguin Group’s investment in Micro-Watch, the overwhelming advertisements in the following days still far exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Penguin Group placed advertisements for Micro-Watch on almost all online platforms.

Even within Penguin Group itself, Micro-Watch received special promotion.

In the first three days after Micro-Watch’s launch, users could directly receive Q-coin rewards just by downloading the Micro-Watch video app.

After reaching a certain amount of daily usage time, they could also receive additional Q-coin rewards.

One must know that Penguin Group’s chat software is still, without a doubt, the most used software in Yan Country.

Therefore, when the download-for-Q-coin event was launched, Micro-Watch’s downloads soared like a rocket, continuously and wildly increasing.

In just three days, Micro-Watch’s downloads in various mobile app stores had already exceeded thirty million!

It must be noted that TikTok had only just surpassed one million total downloads after being online for two months, but Micro-Watch achieved thirty times TikTok’s downloads in three days after its appearance.

Regarding this situation, almost everyone no longer had a positive outlook on TikTok’s future, and the industry was overwhelmingly pessimistic about TikTok.

Among them, almost only Wang Mo had no doubts about TikTok, still steadily proceeding step by step at his own pace.

And Penguin Group’s frantic promotion of Micro-Watch continued on various platforms.

Douyu Live Platform.

The most popular streamer, Tuanzi, had just started her live stream, and countless viewers who had been waiting in front of their screens immediately flooded in.

“Here she comes, here she comes! Streamer, please continue yesterday’s game, I haven’t watched enough yet.”

“That game isn’t fun, Streamer, let’s play a new game today.”

Facing the screen full of bullet comments, Tuanzi did not immediately start streaming games today.

Instead, she took out her phone and held it up to the screen.

“I’m not streaming games today. I just found a really fun mobile app, and I can’t help but want to introduce it to you guys.”

Listening to the streamer’s voice, the bullet comments instantly erupted.

“No way, you’re shilling too, and you’re shilling for Penguin Group.”

“What does the brother upstairs mean?”

“Almost all the streamers I follow have introduced this software these past two days. If I’m not mistaken, Tuanzi, the software you’re talking about should be a short video app.”

“Is it that one called Micro-Watch? Getting Q-coins for downloading is fine, but the content is really too boring.”

Facing the derailed bullet comments, Tuanzi quickly coughed twice.

“Cough, cough.”

“How can this be shilling? This is clearly bringing benefits to my brothers.”

“A brother just mentioned it, you can get Q-coins just for downloading, and if you watch for two hours, you can get additional Q-coins. How can this be shilling?”

“I’ve put the QR code in the bottom right corner. This QR code will be there for the next two days, so remember to use my QR code to download.”

After continuing to introduce Micro-Watch for a while, Tuanzi finally officially started playing the game.

It wasn’t just Tuanzi.

Almost all streamers on major live streaming platforms had taken advertisements from Penguin Group these past two days.

Penguin Group left no stone unturned in promoting Micro-Watch.

A few hours later.
