12: Section 12Although Douyin’s contract stated that merchants who had cooperated with Weikan would no longer be accepted, it was still profitable even if they opened a new company.

When this person reached the door, he turned back and said to the Weikan Manager, ”I’ll have my assistant contact you about the contract termination.”

”Garbage software, wasting my time and money.”

And with his words, the other merchants finally understood what had happened.

”Douyin is trending! No wonder such a high unit price makes sense.”

”I just contacted a friend of mine who advertised on Douyin, and the conversion rate is real!”

”There’s only one day left. No, I have to find a way too!”

Watching the merchants in the hall boil over, the Department Manager hurriedly opened his phone to check Weibo.

And when he clearly saw the content of this Weibo, his face instantly turned incredibly pale.

Chapter 13: Tencent Develops Big Data, Wants to Acquire Douyin!

”That’s impossible. Why is this profit ratio so exaggerated?”

”More than ten clicks for one purchase?”

Looking at the information on his phone, the Department Manager’s face was extremely grim.

”Could this also be due to Big Data?”

”Can’t wait any longer.”

Thinking of this, the Department Manager hurriedly looked at the merchants below.

”Everyone, I have an urgent matter to deal with right now. Someone will be specifically responsible for your contract terminations in a moment.”

After speaking, the Department Manager turned and left the reception room directly.

After leaving, he immediately said to his secretary beside him, ”Immediately contact all team leaders for a meeting.”

”Give the software department a deadline: one month. After one month, I want our Weikan’s Big Data launched!”

At the same time, in a corner of the reception room, Zhao Yu’s expression was not good as she looked at the trending topics about Douyin.

Now she finally realized that Ye Xian’er wasn’t clearing inventory before; she was shipping orders!

She really wanted to advertise on Douyin again now, but she no longer had the means.

All her previous funds had been invested in Weikan, and the money she had on hand was simply not enough to re-register a company.

Her losses over these three days had already exceeded several hundred thousand.

Even if Weikan terminated her contract, the advertising fees would take at least half a month to be refunded.

In other words, she could only watch as others advertised on Douyin and made money, while she could do nothing.

Thinking of this, Zhao Yu suddenly thought of someone.

Ye Xian’er had chosen Douyin for advertising very early on; she was one of Douyin’s first partners. Maybe contacting her could help connect with Douyin.

The next second, Zhao Yu directly dialed Ye Xian’er’s number.

”Sister Ye, aren’t you connected with Douyin? Can you help me make an introduction?”

Beep, beep, beep.

Ye Xian’er directly hung up the phone.

Zhao Yu still wanted to contact Ye Xian’er on the chat app, but the exclamation mark that popped up showed that she had been blocked by the other party.

Under the accumulation of various blows, the next second, she actually fainted, her eyes turning black.

Meanwhile, while the internal affairs at Tencent were in disarray due to the Weikan advertisement, the Junzi Software hall was filled with celebration.

”It still has to be the boss. I never thought that advertisements could be integrated with Big Data.”

”Even after renting this entire floor and purchasing new servers, we still have ten million left in our accounts.”

Listening to their voices, Wang Mo smiled and scanned the hall.

”Tonight, we’re eating at Louwailou. It’s my treat. I’ve already found an outsourcing company to handle Douyin’s basic operations tonight. Everyone come.”

As soon as his voice fell, there were many more cheers in the hall.

Douyin now had over fifty employees.

And at this moment, Wang Mo’s voice continued to sound, ”And, all employees’ bonuses will be tripled this month!”

At these words, the hall instantly erupted.

After all, compared to eating, bonuses were tangible income.

Before this, most people probably hadn’t expected that after integrating merchant advertisements, Weikan would be so severely beaten by Douyin.

And because the frequency of advertisements was exaggerated, Weikan’s daily active users continued to decline uncontrollably, completely inversely proportional to Douyin.

And within Weikan, they once again realized the power of Big Data and began to develop Weikan’s own Big Data at full speed.

After Weikan focused its energy on Big Data, they did not continue to act against Douyin for a short period.

In the following days, a large number of merchants fled Weikan, and those capable of re-registering companies sought to join Douyin at a higher unit price.

Now, the merchants remaining at Weikan were almost exclusively some top-tier large enterprises.

These large enterprises valued Weikan’s future potential and the Tencent name.

And they had also secretly learned the information that Weikan was developing its own Big Data.

This information gave them even more peace of mind.

And after internal meetings, Weikan once again lowered its advertising unit price, changing it to five cents per view.

But even so, when new merchants considered advertising, Weikan was no longer the first choice.

Many merchants would rather wait for Douyin to open new advertising qualification slots than throw their money into Weikan.

And time also flew by under this seemingly calm situation.

Soon, it was more than twenty days later.

This day marked Douyin’s third month since its official launch. Because of significant advertising revenue, Douyin’s promotion pace had accelerated considerably.

So now,
