Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 144: Chapter 144: Kakashi’s True Face

”Kakashi, I heard you’re getting married! Why didn’t you tell me about such a big thing!”

Early this morning, Kakashi was blocked at his door by Might Guy as soon as he stepped out.

Kakashi was completely bewildered. What on earth? When was he getting married?

”Where did you hear that? How come I don’t know I’m getting married? I don’t even have a girlfriend.”

”Stop hiding it from me! The whole village knows you’re getting married, and about your foreign fiancée! She’s even pregnant; you can’t just refuse to admit it. A real man shouldn’t be a heartbreaker. Hurry up and marry the girl; I’ll help you, my best friend, arrange the wedding!”

Kakashi was full of questions; he had no idea where such an absurd rumor had come from.

Pushing Might Guy aside, he told him there was no such thing, ignoring Might Guy as he continued to follow him persistently. He headed straight for the training ground to find The Three Little Ones and teach them Ninjutsu.

Along the way, everyone he met gave him wedding congratulations. Even Tsunade, upon bumping into him, said:

”You’re getting married too, kid? Congratulations. Remember to give me a red envelope.”

Kakashi:???

Jiraiya also expressed:

”You actually found a foreign girl, that’s incredible! I’m so envious.”

Since leading Team 7, this was the first time he had the thought of not wanting to be late.

After dodging and hiding, Kakashi finally arrived at the training ground only to find that The Three Little Ones hadn’t arrived yet.

It turned out that because The Three Little Ones knew Kakashi was habitually late, they simply decided to arrive a bit later. However, since they still arrived earlier than Kakashi, he had never known about this.

He never expected that one day he would also have to endure the pain of being stood up. Fortunately, there weren’t many people at the training ground, so he didn’t have to continue facing those awkward scenes.

After waiting for about two hours, Kano and a group of others finally strolled over to the training ground, but it was a whole crowd.

All of the Konoha 14 Little Ones had come.

Naruto, Kano, Sasuke; Shikamaru, Ino, Choji; Kiba, Hinata, that guy; Lee, Tenten, Neji; Sakura, Karin.

Now Sakura was teamed up with Karin. Karin originally wanted to join Kano’s team, but Tsunade stated that Kano’s team was full and she could only team up with someone else. Their team was currently short one person, and Tsunade would arrange for another person to join later.

A large crowd had arrived, which really gave Kakashi a fright. He felt like something bad was about to happen.

Kano was also startled. Why did Kakashi come so early today? They had originally thought they were coming quite early to set up an ambush and wait for a frontal assault.

But if they could win by wit, they would.

”Kano, what is the meaning of this?”

”They also came to the training ground to train; we just happened to come over together, that’s all.”

Kano lied through her teeth, not even bothering to put away the chain in her hand.

Kakashi obviously didn’t believe Kano’s words and instead asked her.

”Do you know about those inexplicable rumors in the village?”

”What rumors? I don’t know.”

Kano shook her head; she hadn’t gone around asking about any rumors.

But Kakashi clearly didn’t believe this smarty-pants; he’d better ask that idiot Naruto. He definitely wouldn’t be able to keep a secret.

”Naruto, have you heard any strange rumors about me in the village?”

Naruto shook his head, looking puzzled and even a bit curious.

It didn’t look like he was faking it.

That’s not right; he couldn’t imagine who would be spreading rumors about him. He asked the other children as well, but none of them knew or had heard any strange rumors.

After all, what they had received was the real news, not the distorted versions leaked outside.

Feeling relieved by the younger generation’s good virtue of not believing or spreading rumors, he no longer remained on guard against them.

Kano told the others to train nearby first, but in reality, she was having them standby. Once the right moment came, they would all attack together, but for now, she let the three of them go first.
