Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 105: Chapter 105: The Bet

”Lady Tsunade, you’re back.”

Shizune stepped forward to take the sake Tsunade had bought, but upon closer inspection, she realized Tsunade was empty-handed and hadn’t bought any.

”It’s fine, Shizune. I just went out for some fresh air and don’t feel like drinking anymore.”

For some reason, Tsunade sounded a bit downcast, clearly having something on her mind. She glanced at Kano subtly, her eyes filled with guilt.

”Kano, you don’t need to play anymore. I’m a bit tired and will be resting early today. Tomorrow, I’ll start teaching you the Mystical Palm Technique. If there are any other Ninjutsu you want to learn, I’ll teach you those as well.”

Kano put down her guitar and looked at Tsunade in surprise. She could also see that Tsunade’s reaction was off; something must have happened while she was out to make her so melancholy.

But why was she being so nice to Kano? Kano originally only wanted to learn the Mystical Palm Technique. Now, it was great; she could learn everything: Monstrous Strength, Mystical Palm Technique, Chakra Scalpel, Strength of a Hundred Seal, and Creation Rebirth - Strength of a Hundred Technique! She’d even learn the Summoning Beast techniques if she could.

Although she might not be able to learn it all in one day, she could have the system record it so she could learn it slowly later. She didn’t know what had triggered Tsunade, but regardless, she’d squeeze every Ninjutsu out of her before she snapped out of it.

After all, her Ninjutsu were exactly what Kano needed.

Besides, Kano had a good guess; it was likely Orochimaru’s doing. He probably offered to resurrect her boyfriend and brother in exchange for something.

She didn’t care what conditions the other party used to threaten Tsunade because Naruto was there and would surely be able to convince her. Plus, with Kano around, things wouldn’t get out of hand.

The Third Hokage had given Kano immense confidence; she even felt that in some aspects, the Sandaime was more intimidating than the First or Second.

The past few days had been very peaceful. Jiraiya kept pestering Tsunade to become the Hokage, while Tsunade was weighed down by her thoughts. Although she had agreed to teach Kano, she lacked spirit and often turned to alcohol to drown her sorrows.

On the contrary, Naruto seemed to have nothing to do all day. Since he hadn’t made a bet with Tsunade, he naturally lacked the motivation to learn the Rasengan. Now, Kano had to find time to give him a pep talk.

”Naruto, are you almost done learning the Rasengan?”

”Almost, almost.”

”About how much longer will it take?”

”A week! I’ll be able to learn it in one more week!”

This was clearly bragging; he always liked to boast in front of a girl he liked or when acting on impulse. However, just by hearing him brag, she knew he had been slacking off.

Because in the original work, he said he’d learn the Rasengan in three days. Even with the bet, he barely managed to learn it in a week.

At this rate, it would probably take over a month.

If she didn’t give him a push, it would truly be too slow.

”Then let’s have a competition. Let’s see if you learn the Rasengan first or if I compose an S-rank song first. If you’re faster than me, I’ll grant you any one wish, as long as it’s not too much. If I win, you have to do one thing for me. How about it?”
