Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 104: Chapter 104 Under Tsunade’s threat, Shizune also raised her hand like Kano.

”See? Three to two! The minority follows the majority.”

”Naruto’s own vote doesn’t count! Now it’s a two-to-two tie.”

”Shizune.”

Under Tsunade’s threat, Shizune also raised her hand like Kano.

”Then it’s three to one. It’s decided—he’s the fifth hokage.”

Jiraiya was so angry he sobered up. Tsunade was clearly messing with him. If Tsunade didn’t become the Hokage, Konoha Village would have no one left. Could it be they’d have to let Orochimaru come back and be the Hokage?

”Tsunade!”

”Don’t mention this again. I’m a bit drunk. If you don’t want to get beaten up, wait until tomorrow.”

Having had her fill of food and drink, Tsunade stood up to go rest. As she passed by Kano, she said:

”Little girl, stay with us tonight. It’s too dangerous to stay with a bunch of men; I’ll protect you.”

”Okay, thank you, Lady Tsunade.”

Kano didn’t refuse. She had been sleeping alone these past few days, and it was incredibly lonely. At home, she could always sleep while hugging the cute Karin, but sleeping alone these past few days, her sleep quality had dropped.

Sleeping with Tsunade this time, the quality would definitely be great!

Before sleeping, Kano also chatted with Tsunade.

”I want to create a song that makes people feel very happy when they hear it. Lady Tsunade, when do you feel happy?”

”Hmm, let me think... That would be when I hit the jackpot, or when I play cards and win it all.”

As expected of Konoha’s Three Vices, her sense of happiness was so strange.

This kind of answer was obviously useless to Kano. What kind of happiness could make someone addicted? The level of the Infinite Tsukuyomi was clearly not enough.

Forget it, there’s no use thinking about it; better to just enjoy life for now.

”I heard from Shizune that you’re an Idol. I’ve also heard recently that a konoha songstress has appeared in Konoha Village—cute and a good singer. That must be you. Could I trouble you to sing a song for this old lady? I’ll give you something good in return.”

Tsunade also really wanted to hear the level of the highly rumored konoha songstress. Kano was no longer as shy as she was at the beginning; she could sing on command. But before that... ”If my song satisfies you, Lady Tsunade, could you promise me one thing?”

”If it’s about making me go back to be the fifth hokage, then forget it.”

”It’s not that. I want to become your disciple and learn Medical Ninjutsu. Because no one in my team knows Medical Ninjutsu, if I can learn it, I can greatly reduce the team’s casualties.”

”That depends on whether your singing can move me.”

As soon as those words were spoken, Kano understood that Tsunade had agreed. In fact, Tsunade also liked Kano; looking at her reminded her of her past self, and she wanted to give her a hand.

She pulled a small scroll from her leg holster, unfurled it, and took out a guitar.

”Then I’m going to start.”

Cheerful Tune was still useful; Tsunade and Shizune were both entranced. They finally understood what it meant for one’s ears to be momentarily cleared as if hearing celestial music.

”Not bad, another one! Just listening to the song isn’t enough. Shizune, go buy some sake.”

”Lady Tsunade, you’re already drunk; you can’t drink anymore.”

”You’re not going, right? If you won’t go, I’ll go myself. Sing another one when I get back.”

”Lady Tsunade!”

Tsunade pushed Shizune aside and walked out of the room with steady steps. Shizune wanted to chase after her, but Tsunade slammed the door shut, locking her inside and preventing her from following.

”Shizune, can you tell me some interesting stories from over the years?”

To keep Shizune from feeling awkward, Kano took the initiative to chat with her. Shizune also sighed; since she didn’t need to worry about Lady Tsunade’s safety, she let her be.

At the same time, Jiraiya, who was working by lamplight on ’First Love in the Human World’, yawned. He planned to finish this section before sleeping.

Suddenly, a Kunai flew in through the window straight toward Jiraiya. It wasn’t very fast, and Jiraiya caught it without even dodging.

A letter was tied to the back of the Kunai. Jiraiya didn’t know who had thrown it, so he decided to read the contents first.

After reading it, Jiraiya’s expression darkened; he was clearly shocked by the contents of the letter.

”Pervy Sage, what was that sound?”

”It’s nothing, just go back to sleep.”

Jiraiya burned the letter in the fire right then and there; he couldn’t let Naruto see this.

Just as Tsunade left the inn to buy sake, she ran into an unexpected person. He blocked Tsunade’s path but wasn’t hostile; he simply spoke slowly:

”Tsunade, how about we make a deal?”
