Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Whenever one fantasized about their happiest moment

Whenever one fantasized about their happiest moment, what often emerged was not a smile, but tears flowing from the corners of the eyes. Only wishes that could never be realized would become an ethereal happiness.

Finally, her song was complete.

”Master Tsunade, if you want to see them again, then I will dedicate this song to you. This is my original Genjutsu—Falling Gentle Village.”

Kano pulled out her guitar and began to play. This was a guitar her father, Shikaku, had custom-made for her, with strings made of Chakra Metal. It could conduct Chakra very well and release sound-based Genjutsu.

This was also the first time she was truly using it.

The sound and singing, mixed with Chakra, entered Tsunade’s ears, and she was instantly pulled into the Genjutsu space. How could someone like Tsunade, one of the Sannin, not realize she had fallen into a Genjutsu... ”Tsunade, why are you still spacing out? Nawaki should be back soon; let’s go to the village entrance to meet him.”

”Dan? How? Aren’t you dead?”

Looking at the Kato Dan before her, Tsunade realized this was a person fabricated by the Genjutsu.

”How can you curse your own man like that? Luckily you’re Tsunade, otherwise I’d be angry.”

Kato Dan took her hand and led her to the village entrance. Tsunade thought to herself that this Genjutsu was too fake, but she’d break it in a little while; once she saw her brother, she’d break this Genjutsu.

”Sister!”

Soon, a young boy wearing a necklace came running from a distance, waving his hand. He grabbed Tsunade’s waist and threw himself into her arms.

”I missed you so much!”

”I missed you too, Nawaki.”

”Sister, why are you crying? Let me tell you, I completed a B-rank mission this time. Pretty impressive, right? I’m one step closer to becoming Hokage!”

”Impressive, impressive! Nawaki is the best.”

Kato Dan was the first to notice something was wrong with Tsunade and spoke up in concern:

”Tsunade, what’s wrong with you today? You seem to be in a bad mood. Did something happen?”

”I just had a nightmare, dreaming that both you and Nawaki had sacrificed yourselves.”

”No need to worry, Sister. Dreams and reality are always opposites. This just means that both my brother-in-law and I will be fine. That’s a good thing.”

Kato Dan didn’t refute the title of brother-in-law; he also hoped his brother-in-law-to-be would accept him.

”There are still many things to do. Today we have to discuss the training of Medical Ninjas. Since the training is very difficult and costs a lot of money, we have to find a way ourselves, but at least it passed.

Also, I’ve been nominated for the next election, which means I might...”

Seeing Tsunade so preoccupied, Kato Dan thought she was still affected by the nightmare. So he stopped talking about serious matters and turned to talk to Nawaki instead.

”Your sister isn’t in a good mood today. Let’s go pick up my younger sister from the Ninja Academy first, and then how about we go eat BBQ together?”

”Okay! I love eating BBQ the most!”

Kato Dan picked up his younger sister, and the four of them arrived at the BBQ restaurant. When Tsunade saw the young girl, she knew she was Dan’s younger sister. She was graduating from the Ninja Academy this year and was slightly younger than Nawaki.

Seeing this well-behaved little girl, she also smiled and patted her head.

”Tsunade-nee, this is for you. This is a paper shuriken I folded at the Ninja Academy. Doesn’t it look real?”

”It does. It looks just like a real shuriken.”

”Tsunade, can you tell us about that nightmare you had?”

Facing her lover’s concern, Tsunade didn’t hide it.

”I dreamed that Nawaki was killed by a trap while on a mission with Orochimaru. And you were heavily injured in battle, and I couldn’t save you; you died right in front of me.”

”Oh, Sister is talking about that time. Back then, if Big Brother Orochimaru hadn’t stopped me, I really might have stepped on a trap. Since then, I’ve been cautious and haven’t fallen for a single trap again.”

”Although I was heavily injured that time, I was still saved by you.” Kato Dan lifted his clothes to let Tsunade see clearly. ”The injury that time was truly heavy; even after using Medical Ninjutsu, it still left a scar. I almost died then. It was also because of that time that the Sandaime agreed to the Medical Ninja training.”

”It’s all because that nightmare was too real.”

”Then eat more and sleep more, and hurry up and forget that terrible nightmare.”

”Mhm.”

”Sister, your nightmare could never come true. I’m the man who’s going to become Hokage. I absolutely won’t die before I become Hokage!”

Kato Dan also chimed in.

”My dream is also to become Hokage, a Hokage who protects everyone. To protect those I love, I absolutely cannot sacrifice myself either.”

Shaking off the bad mood and forgetting the contents of the nightmare, Tsunade also showed a rare smile. She was one of the Sannin, after all; how could she be affected by a mere nightmare?

”Your dreams are to become Hokage, then seeing your dreams come true is my wish as well!”
