Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 118: Chapter 118 Ino: How About a Boy band Too?

The specific mission is that the Princess’s birthday is coming up, and the Daimyo wants to prepare a birthday banquet for her. Besides delicious food and fine wine, the banquet also needs a wonderful performance.

Thus, the Daimyo remembered Kano’s song from the Chunin Exams and requested Kano to sing at the scene.

Since it was issued in the form of a mission, the amount was even exaggerated to an S-rank mission. This forced Tsunade, who had just taken office as Hokage, to take it seriously.

She knew Kano was an Idol and sang very well. She hadn’t expected the Daimyo to be willing to spend so much money to invite Kano to sing, and he even promised that if the Princess was satisfied, he would increase this year’s military budget investment.

Tsunade didn’t understand anything about Idols singing and dancing, so she directly gave Kano full authority, allowing her to mobilize any standby Ninja to assist her in the mission.

”In other words... I can now find anyone I want to accompany me on the mission?”

Listening to Karin’s narration, this was how Kano understood it.

”That’s right, so can I go with you, Big Sister?”

”Of course.”

”I want to go too! This is an S-rank mission, take me along.”

”Ino is fine, of course. However, we should try to bring as many people as possible this time. This is our first S-rank mission and there’s no danger, so we have to do it beautifully. Once I finish talking to Master about you wanting to become her disciple, we’ll split up and take action.”

Tsunade also agreed to Kano’s very willful request and likewise accepted Ino as a disciple. Firstly, it was because Kano used her previous theory that ”every squad should be equipped with a medical Ninja” as a reason to ask her to teach Ino as well. Secondly, Kano wasn’t someone who looked for trouble for no reason; since she recommended Ino, she must have some extraordinary qualities, so accepting her was definitely the right move.

Actually, this was just Kano’s selfishness. Regardless of whether Ino’s talent was good or not, she would help persuade her. Even if Tsunade didn’t agree, she would offer Tsunade satisfactory conditions to make her agree.

Tsunade went with Naruto to treat Sasuke, while Karin, Kano, and Ino went to find the other girls.

”Ino, who do you think we should look for first?”

”Sakura, I guess. She didn’t even pass the second stage of the last Chunin Exams, and her teammates are all dead, only she survived. She can only join other people’s teams as a single person to do missions now, so let’s bring her along this time.”

Ino and Sakura’s relationship had turned sour because of Sasuke, but the two of them were still best friends in the past. If they hadn’t fallen out over Sasuke, Kano wouldn’t have been able to take her place.

”Alright, let’s go find her first.”

Kano wasn’t familiar with Sakura; her understanding of her was limited to the anime. Moreover, she felt quite apologetic for taking Sakura’s place; originally, it should have been Sakura teaming up with those two passerby teammates.

Karin didn’t know Sakura, so she naturally had no objection and followed the two to find Sakura.

After all, it was daytime, and finding people was the most troublesome part, as everyone was busy doing commissions and grinding missions. Even if they didn’t have a mission temporarily, they would go to train, unlike at night when people would mostly spawn at home.

Ino took the two to places where Sakura might be, but they couldn’t find her. She might have gone on a mission.

Coincidentally, they ran into another target, Hinata.

”Hinata, Kiba, and that... whoever!”

Kano’s vision was quite good (from eating those sugar beans), and she saw the three from Team 8 from a distance, along with their team leader, Kurenai Yuhi.

”Yo, Kano! Ino!”

”Kano, Ino, hello...”

”My name is Shino.”

The three of them also greeted them. Ino and Kano each took one of Hinata’s hands and pulled her over.

”Kurenai-sensei, you guys don’t have any missions for the next few days, right? Can I borrow Hinata for a few days?”

”Do you have some mission that needs Hinata’s scouting ability? That’s fine, just don’t forget to give Hinata a share of the commission fee.”

”We are indeed looking for her to do a mission together, and it’s S-rank.”

”What?! Take me along for such a good thing too! My nose is quite useful as well.”
