Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 45: Chapter 45 The mother and daughter seemed to have endless topics to talk about, chatting until Shikamaru returned in the afternoon.

”No problem.” Kano took out a scroll and summoned a guitar.

She simply played an ordinary song, strumming and singing. Even so, her mother was entranced, unable to help but feel proud of such a lovely daughter.

She hadn’t expected her daughter, who was a dead last at the Ninja Academy, to become so outstanding. She really hadn’t been wrong—her daughter was no idiot!

The mother and daughter seemed to have endless topics to talk about, chatting until Shikamaru returned in the afternoon.

”I’m home.”

Shikamaru pushed the door open listlessly; he was as devoid of energy as ever.

”Oh, you’re back, you stinky big brother. Quick, quick, let’s go to the training ground for a match. I’ve become super strong now!”

”I’m not going! It’s too troublesome!” This time, Shikamaru was afraid of getting beaten. He couldn’t beat Kano before, so how could he possibly beat her now?

However, Kano ignored Shikamaru’s words and dragged him out of the house. Kano knew Shikamaru couldn’t beat her; she just simply wanted to give him a beating.

Since she was free anyway, she might as well beat up her brother.

”Shikamaru, hold back your strength. Don’t hurt your sister. If she gets even a little scratch, don’t expect to eat dinner tonight.”

”I could hurt her? For real?”

Shikamaru wanted to cry but had no tears. No matter how he looked at it, he was the weak one. How could his mother say such cold words? Was he not her biological son?

The two arrived at an empty space. Shikamaru was already prepared to fall down and surrender at the start.

”This time I won’t use Taijutsu. I’ll only use Ninjutsu to fight you. You know our family’s Ninjutsu doesn’t have much output.”

Shikamaru was a bit skeptical but nodded anyway. Kano still hadn’t managed to learn the Shadow Imitation Technique properly, and only had the Shadow Deer Technique to show for it. But even so, he wasn’t sure he could beat several deer, especially since they were controlled by Kano.

”Also, if you can just hold out for five minutes without falling, you win.”

If Kano used Taijutsu, he might truly not last 5 minutes. If she only used Ninjutsu, he could just control her for five minutes.

”If you win, you can ask me to do anything tonight~”

Kano even blew him a kiss.

However, Shikamaru’s heart remained unmoved; he even felt a bit of disdain. Although his sister had become cute and ladylike, that was all for show to outsiders. Only Shikamaru knew she was still that violent maniac. The final prize held zero attraction for him.

At this moment, Shikaku also returned and happened to notice the siblings preparing to spar.

”Kano’s back. Sparring is a good thing; it’s a perfect chance for me to see if you’ve made progress these past few days. Shikamaru, you’d better be serious. Don’t let a grown man lose to his own sister.”

Only Shikamaru knew the bitterness in his heart. His parents knew Kano had powerful Ninjutsu, but neither of them thought she could beat Shikamaru, as he had been outstanding since childhood.

”Start!”

As Shikaku announced the start, the siblings reacted quickly. Shikamaru retreated rapidly while forming hand signs. Kano stood still as a Ninja carrying a large blade emerged from her shadow.

After the Ninja emerged, he casually tossed the blade aside. Kano was also afraid that if he held the sword, he might hack Shikamaru to death.

The preparation phase over, Shadow Zabuza immediately chased after Shikamaru.

”Shadow Imitation Technique!”

However, Shikamaru couldn’t even hold him for a second before Zabuza closed in frontally and sent him flying with a kick. He slammed into the wall, coughing up blood.

”Holy crap!” ”Holy crap!” ”Holy crap!”

Shikaku, Yoshino, and Shikamaru, who were present, were all beyond shocked.
