Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Kakashi’s True Test

Kano’s shadow, which had been motionless, had quietly extended and restrained the careless Kakashi.

Every time Sasuke made a move, it was when Kakashi had just taken someone out. People often become negligent when they succeed.

And Kakashi had used the Substitution Jutsu twice to dodge the attacks.

This showed that Kakashi was still on guard against possible sneak attacks.

But this time, Kano was controlled by Genjutsu, Naruto was kicked away and couldn’t get back up within sight, and Sasuke was buried directly in the ground, unable to move.

With all three dealt with, Kakashi relaxed his guard all at once. Even after breaking the Genjutsu, Kano stood still, waiting for Sasuke to create an opportunity for her.

”I see, what exquisite coordination. However, there’s one more thing: if you’re using the Shadow Binding Technique, you shouldn’t be able to move, right?”

Kakashi instantly saw through the weakness of the Shadow Binding Technique. As a Konoha Jonin, he was very familiar with the Ninjutsu of Konoha’s great clans.

”If it were the Shadow Imitation Technique, you could have taken my bells by now. But unfortunately, it’s the Shadow Binding Technique. Although it’s a bit more troublesome than the Shadow Imitation Technique, it won’t take me long to break free.”

Kakashi squinted as he looked at the fallen Naruto and the buried Sasuke.

”Are you counting on Naruto waking up or Sasuke crawling out? Before I break free from the restraint...”

”Heh heh, Ninja Tactical Manual Number Four: Intelligence. What if I have other helpers?”

A jet-black Ninja appeared beside Kakashi.

”Nani?!”

Even Kakashi was startled, breaking free from the restraint with a burst of power.

Even so, Shadow Mizuki successfully snatched the bells.

This was also the result of Kakashi’s carelessness and holding back; he clearly could have broken the restraint immediately, yet he obediently let himself be controlled for a few seconds.

He really is... I’m moved to tears.

”Splendid!”

Kakashi clapped from the side, and the alarm clock rang at the right time. Kano held the two bells and went to pull Sasuke out of the ground, while Mizuki went to wake up Naruto, who had been kicked unconscious.

”The bells are ours! ?(?^o^?)Y”

Kano made a cute peace sign.

”Heh, a natural result.”

Sasuke still exuded the aura of a cool poser.

”Eh! You already got the bells? Kano-chan is so amazing!”

The three of them soon gathered, and Kakashi walked over, looking at the two bells in Kano’s hand.

”Congratulations on passing the test and capturing the two bells.” Kakashi smiled, then said something dangerous, ”Now, how do you plan to divide the bells?”

The cheerful atmosphere vanished instantly.

”The bells are in your hands; you can divide them however you want. However, whoever doesn’t get a bell will have to go back to the Ninja Academy and start over.”

Kakashi continued to add fuel to the fire.

”Seeing you hesitate, let me give you a suggestion. You and Sasuke both performed very well. One for each of you, and let Naruto go back to the Ninja Academy to study again. How about that suggestion? That way, you’ll have one less burden.”

”Kano-chan...”

Hearing Kakashi’s words, Naruto’s expression grew even worse. He had finally become a Ninja and finally been assigned to the same team as Kano-chan; how could he bear to go back to the Ninja Academy!

But he really was useless... Kano nodded and gave one bell to Sasuke.

”Sasuke, here. If it weren’t for your strength suppressing Kakashi-sensei, this plan wouldn’t have worked at all.”

Kakashi nodded pretentiously, as if approving of Kano’s choice.

”The other bell should go to me based on merit. I devised the plan, and I was the one who ultimately seized the bells.”

Kakashi nodded pretentiously again.

”Are you sure about this distribution?”

Sasuke took the bell as a matter of course. Naruto, who hadn’t received a bell, lowered his head in silence. He wanted a bell too, but since this was Kano-chan’s decision, he couldn’t bring himself to make a scene and embarrass her.

Then, Kano handed the bell back to Kakashi.

”According to merit, Naruto shouldn’t get a bell and should be sent back to the Ninja Academy. However, he also played a major role in this plan. If he hadn’t taken the initiative to expose himself and draw attention, we wouldn’t have been able to gather information on Kakashi-sensei and devise a complete plan.

So Naruto shouldn’t be the only one to suffer. I’m giving up my bell to go back with Naruto.”

”Kano-chan...”
