Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Speeding Up the Special Training for the Two Little Ones

Kano took out the scroll containing the Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique and had Kakashi explain it to her in detail. Kakashi happened to know it, and he had used this very move to restrain Kano during the bell test.

Perhaps because Kano had a firm will—after all, her soul was that of a forty-year-old—Kakashi’s held-back genjutsu couldn’t restrain her for long.

Kano had already looked at it beforehand, so she understood it quite quickly, which was completely different from when Shikaku broke down the ”Shadow Deer Technique” for her.

”This section is for adjusting the intensity of the genjutsu. The more Chakra output here, the more pronounced the induced fear effect will be. However, you must maintain stability; otherwise, blindly increasing Chakra and failing is worse than using a bit less.”

”Um, Kakashi-sensei, can this part be changed?”

”What do you want to change?”

”The part about amplifying emotions. Can it be changed to a different emotion?”

”What do you want to change it to? Anger or remorse?”

”I want to change it to happiness.”

”What use would that be? If the enemy breaks the genjutsu and ends up full of fighting spirit, aren’t you just making trouble for yourself?”

”Exactly. I just need to make it so the enemy doesn’t want to break the genjutsu.”

Kakashi suddenly understood Kano’s idea. She wasn’t seeking to deal a mental blow to the enemy, but simply to keep them restrained.

This direction was indeed feasible, though it relied heavily on teammates. Without a teammate to follow up with damage, this move would essentially be buffing the opponent.

”Your method is indeed feasible. I’ll look for some related materials for you when I return to the village. For now, practice the Hell Viewing Technique. Once you’ve mastered it, switching to other emotions will be easier.”

Kano nodded in agreement, and Kakashi went to check on Naruto and Sasuke’s situation.

The three of them practiced until nightfall; Kano was even the last one to head back.

Back at the house, she found Naruto and Sasuke competing with each other, stuffing their faces. They even continued eating after throwing up.

”You two, if you can’t eat anymore, don’t force yourselves!”

Seeing the two of them vomiting as soon as she entered the room, Kano’s appetite vanished instantly. She was so annoyed she wanted to beat them up.

After eating a few bites and feeling full, Kano didn’t rush back to practice. After all, her Chakra wasn’t as abundant as the other two, and she needed to recover some before continuing her genjutsu training.

Naruto and Sasuke were still competing, and Kakashi came over to stir the pot.

”Who do you think will finish their training first?”

Kano didn’t say it directly, but instead tossed the question back to Kakashi.

”How about we make a bet? You guess one, and I’ll guess the other. Let’s see who wins. The stakes will be the commission fee for this mission.”

”Then I bet Sasuke will finish his training first.”

Hearing Kakashi choose Sasuke, Naruto immediately became unhappy.

”What! I’m much faster than that Sasuke guy!”

”Alright, don’t get hung up on that. I’ll bet on you winning. If you beat Sasuke, I’ll personally make a bento for you.”

”Really?! That’s great! I have to climb to the top of the tree right now, immediately!”

Even though his leg muscles were trembling, Naruto desperately ran outside.

Kakashi was speechless. He didn’t expect Kano to use such an outside tactic. One had to know that a bento personally made by Kano was ”beyond Kage-level” in its attraction to Naruto!

”Then I’ll choose Naruto, and you choose Sasuke.”

Hearing Kakashi shamelessly change his choice, Sasuke just felt it was boring. He wouldn’t be as impulsive as Naruto; balancing work and rest was more conducive to learning.

”You’re cheating!”

Kano, unconvinced, swung her fist to hit Kakashi, but unfortunately, he dodged.

”You’re the one who cheated first, using a bento to lure Naruto. After this change, I won’t switch again.”

”That was encouragement. I’m just giving Naruto a hand. Fine, you bet on Naruto, and I’ll bet on Sasuke. If you change again, you lose.”

”Alright, alright, alright.”

The two finally reached an agreement, and Kano called Sasuke over. Sasuke had a face full of disinterest; he didn’t want to participate in their gambling.

”I won’t be interested in your bento. I’m not like that idiot Naruto.”

”Oh, I know you’re not interested in that. But I’ll tell you some information you are interested in, like about your older brother...”

Sasuke’s eyes widened!

”What information do you know?!”

”Don’t get excited, don’t get excited. As long as you finish your training before Naruto, you can ask any one question about your brother, and I’ll tell you. But only one.”

Sasuke couldn’t sit still either and rushed out hurriedly, fearing he might miss the information.
