Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Shadow Monarch

Kano unfolded the scroll.

In the center of the scroll was a circle, with two footprints on either side. From its appearance, it looked like one had to place their feet on both sides and inject Chakra to activate the scroll.

”Why the feet? That’s so weird!”

[I don’t know either, let me ask for you... It seems you need to step on the scroll with both feet to inject the Chakra of two different Ninjutsu respectively, while your hands need to form seals. If you could form seals with your feet, you could also place your hands on the scroll to inject Chakra ╮(￣▽￣)╭]

”Well, okay, that makes sense.”

Kano sat down and placed her small feet, clad in white silk socks, onto the scroll. Thinking that the socks might interfere, she took them off and stepped onto the scroll with her bare feet.

Her hands began to form seals.

”Then let’s fuse something good! I choose you, Shadow Imitation Technique! I’m betting everything on this new Ninjutsu. If it doesn’t turn out well, I’ll just go and overwork myself like a try-hard and never do system tasks again!”

Kano was still hesitating whether it was better to stand on the scroll or sit on the tatami.

Her intuition told her that sitting was better.

As the Chakra was injected, a pillar of light shot out from the center of the scroll.

This made Kano break into a cold sweat; if she had been standing, there was no telling where this light might have shot into.

She was wearing a skirt!

The light, shimmering with pink hearts, didn’t look like anything decent at all!

”What was with that beam of light just now?!”

[Ah? I don’t know? Σ(っ °Д °;)っ Wait, let me check the manual... Light, light, light... Found it. This light seems to be just a special effect (?O?)]

”Is this special effect of yours even decent?”

Kano looked up at the pink heart-shaped silver patterns on the ceiling, breaking into a cold sweat. She was a bit hesitant, almost afraid to take that Ninjutsu now.

The new Ninjutsu had already appeared, looking very similar to the previous Edo Tensei scroll, lying quietly atop the fusion scroll.

[The manual given to me by the Super Fusion System Senior says so. It also says that these types of scrolls are usually meant to be given to girls one likes. There’s even a hidden effect that says it will increase the user’s favorability toward you, making them easier to romance (′?｀)? I have to say, the Super Fusion System Senior’s full name is truly strange. ”Transcending Everything, Fusing the Strongest Bloodline System.” Isn’t it weird (o?д?)o]

”What kind of Stallion System is that! I almost fell for it myself!”

Kano felt very lucky that she had sat down and extended her feet just now. If she had been standing, the consequences would have been unthinkable.

Kano carefully hooked the scroll over with her toes. After confirming there was no more of that weird light, she finally unfurled the scroll.

Fortunately, there was nothing strange on the Ninjutsu scroll, so she used it with peace of mind.

Immediately afterward, a unique Ninjutsu surfaced in her mind.

[Shadow Monarch]

This Ninjutsu consisted of three parts: Shadow Extraction, Shadow Swap, and Shadow Preservation.

Shadow Extraction: Extracts the shadow of a lifeless organism and turns it into a Shadow Soldier. Shadow Soldiers possess 100% of their abilities from when they were alive and retain their personalities, but they have no memories of their past lives. The higher the creature’s ability and the longer it has been dead, the greater the chance of failure. The time limit is 48 hours.

Shadow Swap: The user can swap positions with a designated Shadow Soldier. Using this requires a 2-hour cooldown.

Shadow Preservation: Shadow Soldiers are stored within the caster’s shadow, or they can be made to lurk in a specific shadow. They can be summoned or stored again according to the caster’s needs. A maximum of 15 can be preserved. If a shadow is killed, it requires 2 hours to resurrect.

”What a powerful ability!”

The detailed Ninjutsu and Chakra circulation methods quickly flooded into Kano’s mind.

This Ninjutsu was so complex, requiring a total of 38 seals! Even if used separately, each part required over a dozen seals.

[host, don’t worry. Because Edo Tensei (Special Edition) was used as a material, Shadow Monarch will also reduce the host’s Chakra consumption and the number of seals required (*?︶?*).?.:*?]

”Does that mean I can release it without seals?”

[Yes, and even if the host currently has only 0.3 Kakashi of Chakra, you can easily release this Ninjutsu. Plus, you can preserve up to 15 Shadow Soldiers (σ′▽‵)′▽‵)σ]

”Is Kakashi a unit of measurement?”

”This is a huge loss. If I could have caught the Uchiha Massacre Night, I might have been able to snag a dozen Uchiha thugs! Well, in this current period, no powerful characters are dying.”

Kano tidied up and decided to go try out this skill. Her family originally raised deer, so they often hunted them for their antlers and such.

Kano jumped out of her room window. Wandering a bit around the slaughtering area, she found a deer carcass. It was a piece of venison that had already been half-processed and was hanging up.

”Become my servant.”

Following Kano’s command, a black Shadow Deer rose from the ground.

Kano could feel that this deer would obey her commands completely, but vision could not be shared. She could only sense the Shadow Deer’s location, no matter how far away it was.

”Dismissed.”

The Shadow Deer bowed its body and merged into Kano’s shadow. Kano could feel the deer inside her shadow and could command it to come out with just a thought.

Although a deer didn’t have much combat power and would be instantly killed if it encountered a Ninja, it could serve as a means of transportation!

Kano was very satisfied with this Ninjutsu! In the future, if anyone was unfortunate enough to die, Kano would go and ’deliver’ them. She wouldn’t have to lift a finger in battle; she’d rely entirely on Shadow Soldiers.

Kano collected three more Shadow Deer. She had originally thought the more the merrier, but there were only these three that counted as fresh; the others had been left for more than two days, and shadows could no longer be pulled from them.

Forget it, three were enough for now. She just didn’t know the specific performance of the Shadow Soldiers yet; many specific values would have to wait until they could be tested in actual combat.

Kano sat on the Shadow Deer’s back and let it take her home. Just walking was quite comfortable, but if it started running, it would be a bit unfriendly to her bottom.

”System, can I teach this Ninjutsu to others? I see it’s very complex, but not to the point of being unlearnable.”

Kano swung her little feet, talking to herself while sitting on the deer’s back.

Fortunately, it was late at night and there weren’t many people around; if anyone saw her, it would be quite eerie.

[Theoretically, it’s possible, but even if others learn this Ninjutsu, they won’t be able to skip the hand seals, and the Chakra consumption will be very high (*｀?з?)]

”That’s good. Once I’m proficient with this Ninjutsu, I’ll teach it to my father and mother. As for that brat Shikamaru, if he begs me, I’ll still reluctantly teach it to him.”

Kano hopped back in through the window; she couldn’t wait to use her new Ninjutsu to grind for combat power!

Who among those powerful people would die during this period? If no one died, what if she went and killed a few?

The Third Hokage should die in about a year or so. At that time, Kano would happen to be in the Chunin Exams and could conveniently collect the Third Hokage’s body.

As for other experts, she wasn’t quite sure. She’d take it one step at a time.

Kano lay in bed, too excited to sleep, wishing several people would die immediately. Tossing and turning, rolling back and forth, she just couldn’t sleep. Unable to bear the loneliness, Kano questioned the system.

”System, System, what about the next task? What’s the next task? Hurry up and give me a task, I can’t wait.”

[host, please don’t be in a hurry. The task refresh time is at 4:00 AM tomorrow ?＾▽＾?]

Kano thought about it and decided it was better to go to bed early. During this year, in order to get rid of her dark circles, she had stopped staying up late. Now she felt sleepy as soon as the time came, so Kano didn’t stay up late to cultivate like she did a year ago.

The next day, Kano let out a yawn and rubbed her soft little face.

Out of habit, she sat in front of the mirror and began to dress up.

”Oh, right. The task is already over, I don’t need to dress up so beautifully anymore.”

She picked up the lipstick and put it down again, paused mid-air, and then picked it up once more.

”One last time, just one last time.”

Kano made excuses with a flushed face, then proceeded to dress herself up beautifully again, admiring her own beauty in the mirror for quite a while.

”I’m so damn cute.”
