Chapter 327: Chapter 326 This is really quite the extraordinary team

If Fang Zheng’s memory served him right, according to the rules, each team was supposed to have five to eight members, yet in front of him were only four people… What was going on here? Were others yet to arrive?

“This is…”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, everyone’s faces revealed a hint of bitter smile. They looked at each other and finally, it was Fina who spoke up.

“Actually… it’s just the four of us left…”

“Hmm? Wait, what do you mean… You’re not saying that… everyone else has already teamed up, and it’s just you four who haven’t, so you ended up forming a team?”

“Uh…”

At this point, Fina didn’t say anything and just nodded her head with an embarrassed expression.

“The reason?”

“I… I’m not good at dealing with strangers…”

Miss M was the first to raise her hand and speak up, and Fang Zheng could understand her point of view. She was the one who had to completely cover herself with a large cloak to work with others in the city hall, so being shy was quite a serious issue for her.

“No one, no one wanted to team up with Katie…”

The second one to speak was the little girl who always shrank back, and even now, didn’t dare to look up at people. The red-haired girl sitting next to her just snorted.

“I don’t get along with those jerks, not interested in teaming up with them!”

“So…”

After listening to the three of them, Fang Zheng shifted his gaze back to Fina, who smiled sheepishly.

“For certain reasons, I ended up arriving here a bit late, and I could only find little M… Since everyone else had already formed teams, so…”

That explains it.

With this information, Fang Zheng nodded his head. The others might have various reasons, but it would be strange to say that Fina couldn’t find a team—after all, she was a Cleric who could hold her own and had fought against Cultists alongside him, proving her abilities. Plus, unlike the other three, there was no apparent issue with her personality. A gentle and adorable young lady like her couldn’t possibly have ended up with no one willing to team up with her.

But…

“Is this really okay? Doesn’t this break the rules?”

“We’ve already applied to the Alliance, and they’ve allowed us to form a team, so it’s not against the rules.”

This was normal, after all, while the rule was for five to eight members, that was only under ordinary circumstances. Due to various reasons, there would definitely be people left over whenever teams were formed. Naturally, special cases would receive special consideration.

“I get the situation now, but regarding your professions… Alright, I know about Lady Fina and Miss M, and for you two…”

As he said this, Fang Zheng looked at Hailien and Katie. Sensing his gaze, Hailien hurriedly replied.

“I am a Wild Hunt Sorcerer.”

“Wild Hunt Sorcerer?”

“It’s a profession unique to Fanriel.”

At this, Hailien seemed somewhat irritated, her tone also showing a hint of impatience.

“In Fanriel, there are many Half-Blood Lineages, including descendants of dragons, and I’m one of them. Wild Hunt Sorcerers use a Secret Technique to activate the Dragon Blood power in our bodies for combat, similar to Barbarians, though we don’t lose our sanity during battle like they do.”

“I understand.”

Hearing Hailien’s response, Fang Zheng nodded, then looked at Katie.

“And what about you, Miss Katie?”

“…er.”

“…Hmm?”

“…Wanderer…”

Noticing Fang Zheng’s gaze, Katie became even more nervous, tightly clasping her skirt as she rubbed it and answered in a soft voice.

“…Wanderer?”

“Yes…”

Hearing Miss Katie’s response not only did Fang Zheng show a surprised expression, but the other three girls also looked astonished. Wanderer, this name might not seem special, but its other name is well-known.

Thief.

“You are… the young lady of the Holy Silver Merchant Association, right… Why would you become… a wanderer?”

Even Hailien’s speech became somewhat stammered. It’s no wonder; the so-called wanderer, or rather, thief is essentially a profession undertaken by the common folk or nomads in people’s minds. And since Katie is from the Land of Wealth and the daughter of the Holy Silver Merchant Association, she certainly isn’t short of money. So why would she choose to become a wanderer?

“Because… because… it’s comfortable…”

“… What?”

“When in stealth… not being watched, not being discovered… I really like that feeling…”

“……………”

At this, everyone else was speechless.

Although from her earlier behavior it was clear that the girl was extremely afraid of exposing herself in front of others, having an even stronger fear and discomfort than Miss M did, nobody expected her to go to such lengths. To avoid being seen by others, she would become a wanderer?

Is that even possible?

“If that’s the case, then let’s go with the flow and follow your pace.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng offered a slight smile.

“I see you are quite uncomfortable now, and since that’s the case, why don’t you just do things in a way that you like? At least that might help you relax, right?”

“Can I, really?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, the girl named Katie looked up for the first time, with an expression as if a death row inmate had been granted a pardon, and looked towards Fang Zheng. It was clear she was not suited for public appearances. This also showed she was more sensitive in this regard than Miss M—after all, the astrologer girl was only uncomfortable with interacting with strangers. But if it were someone familiar like Fang Zheng, she could still carry a conversation.

But Katie seemed extremely uncomfortable with appearing before others, even if the people around her were acquaintances or soon to be her companions. As a young lady, she also knew that hiding her presence and not speaking with others wasn’t polite, so she had been enduring it until now.

“Of course, I don’t see a problem with it.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng looked to the others.

“What do you all think?”

“I don’t mind either, if it helps Miss Katie relax.”

“Same here…”

“I don’t… have any objections.”

Soon, the remaining three girls gave their responses, and Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders looking at Katie.

“You see, there’s no need to be so concerned. We’re all companions now; there’s no need to be so formal.”

“Then, I will be impolite.”

Saying this, Katie stood up, picked up the hem of her dress, and made a curtsy to everyone.

And the next moment, to everyone’s amazement, Katie just suddenly disappeared!

Even Fang Zheng was surprised to see this.

Was that stealth? That skill is damn near invisibility, right??

“Sorry, I am much more comfortable this way… Thank you all for your understanding…”

Katie’s voice once again appeared, floating next to everyone’s ears. Compared to her previous stammering, hardly able to get a word out, Katie now spoke with the innocence and sprightliness characteristic of a girl her age, coupled with a touch of nobility and nonchalance. It must be said that Katie, when in a state of stealth, indeed seemed more befitting of her status.

Furthermore, even when she spoke, Katie’s voice came from all around, as if in surround sound, making it completely impossible to pinpoint her location. In a way, for a young lady to master the skill of being a wanderer to this extent, that was truly impressive.

However, others might not be able to detect her, but that didn’t mean Fang Zheng couldn’t. His Dragon Blood lineage gave him the ability to perceive time and light, so even if Katie’s stealth was extremely advanced, Fang Zheng could still grasp her aura. But that was only to a certain extent. Of course, if Fang Zheng desired, he could drive Katie out of her stealth state. But for now… he certainly wouldn’t do something so foolish.

“Alright, now let’s discuss the next matter at hand.”

Fang Zheng quickly put aside the matter at hand and began to discuss the real issue as he looked at the red-haired girl before inquiring.

“What is our assessment task?”
