Chapter 304: Chapter 303 Let’s Do Development

It’s over.

As Fang Zheng retracted the Sealing and returned to the ship, the battle here had drawn to a close. Or rather, it was only when Fang Zheng listened to Nanali and Kuliya’s account that he learned those persistent Fanriel folks had actually followed them all the way here?

But now, those guys were naturally done for. According to Tilia, the Nymph took out that warship that came before them to flex its muscle, and as for that powerful adversary who came to trouble them… Well, looking at Black Katie’s expression, it seemed not even a speck of bone dust was left.

“Master, it’s truly a relief that you’re unharmed… May I ask just what happened here…?”

Captain Fox also approached, wiping cold sweat from his brow, finally understanding why these people hadn’t cared at all when he and his men said heading into the Misty Seas was dangerous. If they could easily annihilate Fanriel’s escort ship, such mighty power meant probably none of the pirates in the entire Misty Seas could match them!

“The story is not that long…”

Now that Fang Zheng had also figured out the situation in Soul Bay, he briefly explained. Simply put, it seemed a Dragon Lich had taken a fancy to Golden Bay, then used a Divine Artifact to create illusions, triggering that horrific massacre, followed by the Dragon Lich using the souls of sailors who died in the slaughter to make its Ghost Fleet—honestly, Fang Zheng didn’t understand why that Dragon Lich, already possessing a heap of Undead Bone Dragons, would go nuts and transform those Undead Bone Dragons into Ghost Ships. But he didn’t care. Since he had completed the Goddess’s task, it meant everything here was sorted. As for the rest, Fang Zheng wasn’t the curious type and had no interest in meddling.

Because Fang Zheng was well aware that although he had incurred the wrath of the Dragon Lich, it wasn’t him who brought it to the Main World, but rather Miss Ogrande’s Cultist brother. Judging from the latter’s prayers, there seemed to be some connection between the cult and the Dragon Lich, which was why they could summon it to this world.

If he were to investigate further, it would mean looking for trouble with those Cultists, and Fang Zheng had no intention of proactively inviting trouble. So, he decided not to delve into whatever underhanded dealings lay behind it all.

“So that’s how it was…”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s succinct recounting of events, Captain Fox couldn’t help but sigh, naturally unaware of what a Dragon Lich was. But at the very least, he came to understand the gist of the matter.

“Then, what became of those poor sailors’ souls?”

“They’ve probably returned to the sea by now.”

Faced with Fox’s question, Fang Zheng simply shrugged his shoulders. He wasn’t too clear on the fate of those souls. After all, he had later focused his attention on the Undead Bone Dragons and the Dragon Lich; as for what had become of the Undead Sailors, he hadn’t paid much mind. However, since the system had indicated the task was complete, their souls should have all disappeared. After all, those undead had been bound by the Dragon Lich’s evil magic, and now that Fang Zheng had dug out its soul to give to Malthael for initialization, those who had been manipulated by its evil magic were naturally freed.

As for whether they went to Heaven or Hell afterward, Fang Zheng had no idea.

“Is that so…”

Hearing this, Captain Fox just sighed. However, Miss Ogrande standing not far from him seemed to think of something and couldn’t help but look towards Fang Zheng.

“Wait, are you implying that there’s no more danger in Soul Bay?”

“Pretty much… That should be the case.”

Looking over at Soul Bay, which resembled an area ravaged by a level ten earthquake, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders again.

“Then… would you be interested in forming an alliance with our Platinum Family to jointly develop this area?”

“Ha…?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng was taken aback.

“What do you mean, Miss Ogrande?”

“It’s quite simple.”

Confronted with Fang Zheng’s question, Miss Ogrande stood proud, puffing her chest out.

“Soul Bay is no longer dangerous, is it? Then our Platinum Family can redevelop this place and restore it to its former glory as Golden Bay! What do you think? I believe this is an excellent deal,” said Miss Ogrande.

“There’s such an operation?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but freeze for a moment, while Ogrande nodded her head.

“Of course, that’s what our Platinum Family does! The topography of Soul Bay is quite good. I just took a look, and it’s indeed suitable for constructing a large, fine harbor! Moreover, there aren’t any hidden reefs nearby, and the ghost problem has been solved by you, so as long as we clear away the sunken ships and build it up properly, it will become an excellent deep-water port once again!”

As she spoke, Ogrande stretched out her hand and showed Fang Zheng two fingers.

“Twenty percent! I, as a representative of the Platinum Family, can offer you twenty percent of the profits!”

“Hmm……”

Frankly speaking, seeing Ogrande in front of him, bandaged around her waist and looking near death, yet still having the mood to talk business with him, Fang Zheng was puzzled. However, when he thought it over carefully, he suddenly found that Ogrande’s proposal was actually quite good!

Geographically speaking, Soul Bay is indeed an excellent stopover point, which was why it used to be called Golden Bay. It was because of that Dragon Lich that most merchant ships had to stay clear of this area, taking the high seas route instead. Of course, for those ships, it wasn’t a good choice, as the high seas route is very dangerous and not only takes a long time but also requires carrying more supplies. This invisibly increased the burden on the merchant ships. If Soul Bay could start operating normally again, it would definitely be excellent news for the merchants currently on the Endless Sea.

Moreover, Fang Zheng had to consider the transportation of supplies for his expanding Heavenly Dao Palace, including food and alchemy materials. If transported from the main ports of the Kingdom of the Holy Church, it would take too long, and there were various risks along the way. The location of Soul Bay was quite good; from the sea chart, it was only about two days’ journey from the place Fang Zheng planned for the Heavenly Dao Palace expansion. Also, because the Misty Seas are an uninhabited area full of reefs and rocks, it was usually not disturbed by anyone. In this way, Fang Zheng could transport supplies and provisions through Soul Bay, without the trouble of going through the main ports of the Kingdom of the Holy Church.

If it were up to Fang Zheng to develop Soul Bay himself, it would be impossible. The investment in terms of money and manpower would be astronomical, and Fang Zheng didn’t have that much money or people. But if the Platinum Family were involved…

“Fifty percent,” said Fang Zheng, extending his hand.

“You must understand, I’m the one who solved all the problems here.”

“Fifty percent is impossible! At most twenty percent,” Ogrande countered, entering into bargain mode.

“You must know, although our Platinum Family is powerful within the Kingdom of the Holy Church, we don’t have absolute control! Once the news that Soul Bay has been restored spreads, there will definitely be others competing with us! At that time, we will have to contend with them, and we might even have to share a portion of the operational rights here. You alone want to take half; if we were to divide the operational rights further, who would have the final say? I certainly won’t work for you!”

“But you’ve witnessed my power yourself,” said Fang Zheng, spreading his hands.

“I can guarantee that I can provide military support and security for Golden Bay to a certain extent. Isn’t that enough?”

“With that in mind, I can consider twenty-five percent of the operational rights for you!”

“No, at least forty percent.”

“That’s impossible. We must lead the development here. Don’t even dream about getting forty percent…”

“Uh… what’s going on here?”

Watching this scene, Nanali, Kuliya, and the others were all baffled. They couldn’t understand why these two suddenly started talking about developing a port here?

The developments felt strangely off.
