Chapter 322: Chapter 321 Growth and Enchanted Evolution (Part 2)

In the darkness, silence pervaded.

At this moment, Fang Zheng was in a peculiar state, neither asleep nor awake. He could even clearly “see” the Zerg genes and the Time Dragon’s bloodline essence mingling and purifying within his body. Through Fang Zheng’s “eyes,” he saw his three types of genes, each displayed in a different color.

The human genes were red, the Zerg genes were green, and the Time Dragon’s bloodline essence was silver-white.

In Fang Zheng’s vision, these three colors of genes were like a puzzle on a canvas. The Zerg genes were the “main framework” of this puzzle, while the human and Time Dragon genes were the picture within that framework. At that moment, the human genes remained unchanged, but the silver-white genes of the Time Dragon began to inflate like a balloon, pulsating, emitting mysterious waves of power that slowly resonated with the other genes around them.

It was then that Fang Zheng began to feel his body turning unbearably hot, as if something in his blood was burning.

Meanwhile, with the fluctuations of the Time Dragon’s genes, the Zerg genes also began to change, expanding with the inflation of the Time Dragon genes. Then, thin, tentacle-like things stretched out from those genes and fused with the Time Dragon’s genes. Subsequently, Fang Zheng saw the Zerg genes harden into a tough shell, tightly binding the Time Dragon’s genes within.

As the Zerg genes completely enveloped the Time Dragon, the Time Dragon’s genes that were expanding stabilized. Following that, the burning sensation Fang Zheng felt began to subside, and quickly, a new puzzle formed before him…

Then, Fang Zheng slowly opened his eyes.

“Huh…”

The bomb shelter in front of him was as dilapidated as ever, with only faint moonlight shining down from the holes above, and quiet surrounded him. He raised his head and looked at his body, and as expected, Fang Zheng found that his body had undergone another transformation.

Compared to before, Fang Zheng’s body, now that of the Time Dragon, had grown a whole size larger, measuring over twenty meters in length from head to tail. Not only that, but the color of his body also changed – the previous Fang Zheng’s entire body was black. Now, however, his body showed a color that resembled that of a Void Dragon, a black with a tinge of purple and a somewhat translucent appearance.

Fang Zheng’s wings had also changed. Although there weren’t significant differences in shape and size, sharp barbs grew on the top edges of his wings.

Fang Zheng reopened the panel in front of him and sure enough, found that his growth had ended.

[Gifted Ability—Perfect Body (Time Dragon—Young Dragon—Zerg Enhanced): Breathe time, devour time. You possess the legendary Dragon Race bloodline, its future immeasurable (Recovery rate increased by 50%, defense increased by 50%, learning speed increased by 30%, additionally gain the skills “Awakening,” “Regeneration,” “Parasite Cloud,” all Attribute Levels increase with an innate boost, immune to slowing effects)]

“Young stage, huh… not bad.”

Although it wasn’t the immediate Primordial Dragon awakening he had hoped for upon awakening, skipping past the “juvenile” and “teen” stages to become a Young Dragon was still… at least an indication that he was fully developed.

Then, time to transform…

Thinking this, Fang Zheng closed his eyes. Quickly, he could feel a mysterious power circulating within his limbs. In the blink of an eye, his body, which was over twenty meters long, rapidly shrank, reverting to Fang Zheng’s human form.

“Huh… Dragonkind shapeshifting is not without its benefits.”

Looking at the clothes he was wearing, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but comment. What he wore now was a pitch-black armor, resembling a hybrid between leather armor and uniform. Most of it looked like a plain-colored suit woven from fabric, with armor like insect shells only placed on the shoulders, chest, and elbows. The lower half consisted of trousers and boots of the same style, and a cloak enveloped his body.

Of course, these weren’t Fang Zheng’s clothes, but the products of his Dragon Scales and the Zerg’s Chitinous Shell after transformation. Naturally, Fang Zheng had no complaints about this, as though the outfit seemed to provide little defense, the fact that it was transformed from Dragon Scales was evidence alone of its toughness. Not to mention, the Zerg Chitinous Shell was a top-grade protection, and if needed, Fang Zheng could even create a life cycle system like that of the Flying Dragon to ensure his activities and survival in space.

That is to say, the outfit that Fang Zheng is currently wearing consists of “fabric” from the scales of a Time Dragon and “armor” from the chitinous shell of a Thunder Beast, with additional parts supplemented by the Flying Dragon and Flying Serpent.

This is why Fang Zheng’s Dragon Race form looks different from the normal Dragon Race form because his genes are not purely those of the Dragon Race, but rather, mixed with Zerg genes. Or to put it another way, as Fang Zheng had seen, the Zerg genes are the most important part, for it is only the infinitely upgradable and evolvable power of the Zerg genes that can contain and optimize other gene groups. Without the Zerg genes, relying solely on his human body, Fang Zheng clearly wouldn’t be able to achieve this step.

This was much better than Fang Zheng’s original Awakening form, you should know that his initial Awakening triggered a tearing of his clothes. Not to mention, looking for clothes to wear after the Awakening was done was embarrassing enough; in comparison, being able to transform directly into clothes and armor was naturally much more convenient.

“Huff… huff…”

Hmm?

And it was at this time that Fang Zheng suddenly discovered, not far from his side, the Little Fire Dragon curled up and sound asleep. What made Fang Zheng curious was… the Little Fire Dragon’s appearance had also changed significantly from before.

The most important change was that its size had shrunk!

The Little Fire Dragon, although not as large as the real Fire Dragons of this world, used to be at least two-thirds their size. But now, the creature before him was only as big as a hawk. Not only that, its shape had also undergone significant change. Its body now more closely resembled Fang Zheng’s Time Dragon form, and its front claws and wings were no longer connected but separate from each other.

However, unlike Fang Zheng’s bird-like wings, the wings of the Little Fire Dragon now more closely resembled a butterfly’s, with the upper half being pitch black and the lower half red, making them look extremely beautiful and mesmerizing, just like a butterfly’s wings.

Truth be told, had Fang Zheng not felt the familiar aura from the Little Fire Dragon, he would have hardly dared to recognize it.

Then, there was only one thing to do next.

Gazing at the sleeping Little Fire Dragon before him, Fang Zheng smiled slightly and then reached out his hand, placing it on the little creature’s head.

“Awaken, my Enchanted…”

As Fang Zheng spoke, a silver radiance emerged from his being. Quickly, the silver light traveled from Fang Zheng’s palm into the body of the Little Fire Dragon. Following this, the Little Fire Dragon let out a soft cry, and in the next moment, its wings suddenly expanded, enveloping its small form.

And when the wings once again folded back, what appeared before Fang Zheng was no longer the small and adorable Little Fire Dragon but a little girl who seemed to be no more than ten years old. She had pitch black hair that reached her waist, dressed in a robe with red base and black trim, reminiscent of what a Taoist would wear. However, unlike the Taoist’s austere style, the girl’s robe had an added level of exquisite elegance, with semi-transparent lace adorning the hem, and three pointers of varying lengths embroidered on her chest and both sleeves.

Furthermore, in her hands, she held an object made of large, medium, and small gears resembling a sundial.

At that moment, the girl slowly opened her eyes, and when she looked at Fang Zheng, a delighted smile appeared on her face. She then stretched out her arms, hurled herself towards Fang Zheng, and called out loudly.

“…Mommy!”

“…………”

Shouldn’t she be calling for Daddy at this time?
