Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 344: Chapter 335: Facing the Runner-Up (Triple-Length Chapter)

Battle tent.

After gaining a preliminary understanding of the process and watching the video, Baimu became even more interested.

The situation isn’t exactly as the little ghost with a watermelon head described, because trainers aren’t entirely powerless; they can swap Pokémon.

If a particular Pokémon encounters an issue, it can be withdrawn from the battlefield, and another Pokémon can be switched in.

In a way, this allows Pokémon to showcase their autonomous fighting abilities while ensuring trainers have a certain level of participation, which is quite nice.

It’s just that the final reward of a Pokémon Egg as a ”blind box” is really unpredictable.

The victor doesn’t have a choice; whatever the organizers offer is what they get, and it’s not fixed.

Some people eagerly win all the way to the end, only to receive a Pokémon Egg that turns out to be a Wurmple or Zigzagoon, leaving those who hoped for rare Pokémon feeling anything but calm.

Moreover, the organizers of the battle tent do have rare Pokémon eggs.

Nonetheless.

This outcome, resembling a lottery, encourages many idle trainers to actively participate, hoping to wager their luck.

Baimu, holding the Lucky Scale, is no different.

Even though he isn’t sure if his Aggron could secure ultimate victory.

”I’ve got to give it a try.”

Baimu smiles brightly at his Pokémon, coincidentally there’s a battle scheduled tomorrow in the tent, and registration hasn’t closed yet.

Suddenly.

The sound of knocking comes from outside.

Followed by Mann Chong’s voice.

”Hello, sorry to interrupt, it’s dinner time. If you’re willing, we can provide meals, whether for you or your Pokémon...”

”No need, thank you.”

”...Okay, alright.”

Tap, tap, tap.

Mann Chong’s footsteps are heavy and slow, sounding quite dejected.

Baimu tilts his head in thought, unsure why Mann Chong hasn’t ventured out traveling but instead helps at cousin Aman’s house. Could it be that Mann Chong from the animation has awakened a business interest?

That’d be quite a pity, as Mann Chong’s talents as a trainer are notably outstanding. This kid is inherently hardworking, deeply nurturing Pokémon, yearning to progress together with them.

”Whatever, I’m yet to grow myself.”

Baimu stops pondering, though meeting familiar people brings some joy, it’s nothing more.

He turns to ask who’s willing to go out with him.

”Hey ooh!” ”Hey ooh!”

Zweilous, resting, is the first to lift its heads in response, like a dog excited to go out.

Restraining the urge, several others hold back their calls.

Aggron graciously shows leniency as the ace, Mawile aims to maintain grace, Chansey naturally dislikes competing, Galarian Corsola remains asleep, Porygon responds a beat late with a bewildered expression.

Halfway through responding, seeing no sound from others, it softens its voice.

”Ha, it’s you again!”

Baimu messes with Zweilous’ two heads in a cuddle, then heads out with Porygon.

After evolving, this fellow has become even more clingy, even waiting outside the restroom door awaiting calls, as if worried he’d fall into the toilet.

Recently, alone time with it has significantly increased, which might soon stir dissatisfaction among the other Pokémon, excessive dependence on the trainer isn’t conducive to its own growth, it might be time for a slight ”separation.”

”Hey ooh——” ”Hey ooh——”

Zweilous left behind, howls upward hoping to call Baimu back.

Seeing him walking away without turning back, it can only sulkily lie back down on the carpet, heads lowering to sleep.

Chase him?

It’s not that foolish.

Zweilous knows well that the human city isn’t a place where a lone Pokémon can thrive, this was firmly imprinted in its mind when it was once abducted with its friends.

Even though it could blow away those who once kidnapped it, it doesn’t wish to trouble the trainer now.

Nearby, on a cushion, Galarian Corsola’s eyes briefly light up, quickly dimming again.

It thought this blockhead would chase after him.

But unexpected that he’s clever enough to stay, those extra heads weren’t in vain.

——

Passing by the counter.

Baimu glances over to see Mann Chong and Gallade hiding inside, carefully biting into rice balls.

Aware of his gaze, the latter hurriedly puts down the rice ball, stands and bows.

”Good afternoon!”

A rice grain still clings to this guy’s mouth corner, he intends to remind him, but Gallade swiftly extends a hand to pluck and eat the grain.

The speed is such that its hand becomes a blur.

So fast!

Baimu squints slightly, nods, and pushes the door open with Porygon in tow.

Mann Chong lifts his head, watching their backs, murmuring softly, ”That Pokémon is unfamiliar, wonder how it’d feel battling it... Ah! No, no, I’ve work unfinished!”

He shakes his head, suppressing the battle urge within.

On the other side.

Following the signposts, Baimu walks approximately fifteen minutes reaching the battle tent’s entrance.

They say it’s a tent.

In fact, it merely adds a cloth layer on the building’s exterior, forming a tent-like sharp dome, the main structure remains steel and concrete.

No entry fee is required for the battle tent, one can register using an Illustrated Guide or Trainer ID Card, out of curiosity Baimu asks the battle tent’s owner—sure enough, it’s Yashida.
