Apocalypse: I Built a City of Sin

Xiao Yi’s expression darkened. He glared coldly at Shen Tingting.

“If you don’t want to bury zombies, then come outside with me to kill them and search for food! My city does not support freeloaders! You should be grateful that you’re my woman. Otherwise, you would have starved to death in that dorm without even the chance to survive! Now all you have to do is this simple job in exchange for safety and food, and you’re still dissatisfied?”

Li Wanning hurriedly pinched Shen Tingting and shot her a fierce warning look.

This was the apocalypse. Men were clearly more powerful than women here. If a woman wanted to survive, she could only depend on a man and become his subordinate.

For Shen Tingting to keep thinking about women’s rights at a time like this showed that she still did not understand her position.

Feeling the chill in Xiao Yi’s gaze, Shen Tingting nodded aggrievedly and fought back her tears. “Fine! Whatever you say goes. I’ll listen to you from now on!”

Shen Tingting had assumed that after she and Li Wanning worked so hard to pleasure Xiao Yi and gave him an experience of unparalleled enjoyment, they would capture the loser’s heart. Since it had been their first time as well, an ordinary man would surely have been delighted. He might even have cherished them and showered them with affection, just like all the boys who used to fawn over them.

Instead, Xiao Yi still wore the same cold, unfeeling expression, as though neither woman meant anything to him.

Shen Tingting glanced down at her own spectacular figure and pursed her lips defiantly.

With a body like mine, there’s no way I can’t conquer you! Hmph! Just wait until tonight!

Xiao Yi watched the two women drag the zombie corpses to the Tombs and nodded in satisfaction. With them handling the burials, he could go out to kill zombies and collect supplies without worrying about the work back home.

Dozens of corpses remained on the open ground. By Xiao Yi’s calculation, even if both Tombs operated continuously at maximum speed, it would take the women an entire day and night to bury them all.

But these two were currently the only people he could command. Surely he could not make two delicate beauties work without rest day and night.

Xiao Yi carried a wicker chair onto the wall and sat down with the composure of an old master. Cracking sunflower seeds between his teeth, he considered his next stage of development.

He had enough zombie corpses for the moment, and his supplies could last more than a month.

His most urgent priorities were improving his quality of life and finding several more beautiful women to serve him.

That thought reminded Xiao Yi of the survivors in the school storeroom.

Ling Xueya might have been arrogant and vicious, but her face and figure were outstanding. Remembering her seductive manner and overbearing pride made him itch to possess her. If he recalled correctly, she was also Chen Kun’s girlfriend.

How would that proud and privileged Young Master Chen react if Xiao Yi humiliated Ling Xueya right in front of him?

Then there was Wang Jiaojiao, the sweet and obedient beauty with the little-girl voice. She had spoken up for Xiao Yi when the others tried to cast him out to die. If he rescued both women later, one could become his personal maid while the other served as an ordinary attendant. That would be perfect.

But the time had not yet come.

Xiao Yi calculated how much food the group had left. With him gone, their supplies should still last a little over a week. Waiting until they were utterly desperate before appearing would produce much better results.

“Hmph! That awful man gets to sit up there in the sunshine eating sunflower seeds while he makes two delicate girls haul zombie corpses! He’s horrible! Is he even a man?” Shen Tingting glared furiously at the perfectly relaxed Xiao Yi and muttered with an angry pout.

“Tingting, you need to watch what you say from now on. We depend on him to stay alive.” Li Wanning spoke quietly and reasonably. “If you think about it carefully, you’ll realize we aren’t being treated unfairly. He risks his life outside to find food for us and protects our safety. All we have to do is this easy work, and we can live here without fear. Compared to everyone else in this apocalypse, we’re incredibly fortunate.”

“Wanning, you’re always too kind! You’re constantly thinking about everyone else! Have you forgotten what he did to you in the dorm? My whole body still hurts!” Shen Tingting complained, blushing with humiliation.

Li Wanning looked toward Xiao Yi and bit her lip.

“He’s actually rather handsome, and he’s incredibly strong. He might be cold and domineering, but that’s exactly why he can survive—and why we’ll live longer under his protection. Think about what would happen if a group of greasy middle-aged men captured us instead. In an apocalypse like this, you and I can only become someone else’s playthings. Once they grew tired of us, they might even kill us just to conserve food!”

Li Wanning’s words sent a chill through Shen Tingting. She shuddered, and her gaze toward Xiao Yi gradually softened.

Xiao Yi had no idea what the women were thinking, nor did he care to know.

To him, they were merely his servants.

Just as Xiao Yi began to doze off, a flash of reflected light suddenly struck his eyes.

He jerked his head up and saw someone in the distant gymnasium using a mirror to signal him.
