Apocalypse: I Built a City of Sin

【Option One: City of Light. Construct a Shelter and rescue survivors in the apocalypse. Each survivor rescued will reward the Host with Apocalypse Coins and Merit Points. Apocalypse Coins may be used to purchase structures and upgrade the city. Merit Points may be used to improve the Host’s attributes or obtain talents, skills, and items.】

【Option Two: City of Sin. Construct a Tomb capable of burying an unlimited number of zombie corpses. Burying zombie corpses will reward the Host with Apocalypse Coins and corresponding attribute points. Burying special zombies may also reward the Host with talents, skills, and items. Any human who enters the City of Sin can only become a slave.】

Xiao Yi fell into deep thought as he studied the two options before him.

The memory of being driven out of the school storeroom remained vivid in his mind.

Those people’s ugly faces made him sick.

Compared to the ugliness of human nature, perhaps he would rather deal with the dead.

“I choose the City of Sin!”

Without the slightest hesitation, Xiao Yi selected the City of Sin.

【City of Sin selected successfully! The System has awarded the Host one Tomb!】

Rumble...

The ground shook as dust billowed into the air.

When the dust cleared, an eerie, sinister Tomb stood inside the city.

【Ding! New Structure: Tomb. Capable of burying an unlimited number of zombie corpses. Burying zombie corpses rewards Apocalypse Coins and corresponding attribute points. Special zombies may also yield talents, skills, and items. Current Level: 1. Upgrade Cost: 50 Apocalypse Coins.】

Xiao Yi studied the icons and descriptions floating before him. It took him a while to understand what had happened.

Just before his death, he had obtained a miraculous power known as the Apocalypse City System. After establishing the Apocalypse City, he had become its City Lord.

Because he had chosen the City of Sin development path, strengthening himself and expanding the city would require him to bury zombie corpses in the Tomb.

Finding zombies would be easy—they were everywhere outside. The real question was how he could kill them, bring their corpses back, and bury them.

Still pondering the problem, Xiao Yi climbed onto the city wall and looked outside. To his surprise, the city had appeared right in the middle of the school’s athletic field, occupying more than half of it.

Dozens of zombies wandered beyond the walls. Most of them were students dressed in school tracksuits. They moved slowly, their eyes vacant. Their bloodshot gazes occasionally drifted toward Xiao Yi before they expressionlessly turned away and staggered off in another direction.

Xiao Yi rubbed his empty stomach and surveyed his city. Other than the wall, the City of Sin contained only a Rest Cabin and a Tomb. Everything else was barren ground without so much as a blade of grass.

Even if he wanted to survive by eating grass roots, there were none to be found.

“System, are there any other structures I can build right now?”

Since the existing structures could be upgraded instantly, Xiao Yi was certain his city had far more to offer than this.

【Apologies, Master. You currently possess zero Apocalypse Coins. No structures are available for construction.】

The System’s answer disappointed him.

“Then show me my attributes!”

If burying zombies could grant him attribute points, he obviously had attributes of his own.

Xiao Yi was right. The System quickly projected his status before him.

【City of Sin (Beginner)】

【City Lord: Xiao Yi】

【Sex: Male】

【Constitution: 65】

【Spirit: 60】

【Strength: 65】

【Stamina: 63】

【Agility: 62】

【Average adult male attribute: 60】

【Skills: None】

【Items: Beginner Gift Pack】

【Apocalypse Coins: 0】

Xiao Yi was fairly pleased with his attributes. Overall, his physical condition surpassed that of most adult men.

Looking farther down, he noticed four gleaming golden words—Beginner Gift Pack!

“System, what is the Beginner Gift Pack? Can I use it?” Xiao Yi asked.

The System did not answer. Instead, two options appeared directly on the interface.

【Would Host like to open the Beginner Gift Pack?】

【Open Now】【Save for Later】

Xiao Yi selected 【Open Now】 without hesitation. Given his current circumstances, even possessing the miraculous Apocalypse City System would not stop him from starving to death inside its walls. Since he had been given such a powerful advantage, what reason was there to save it for later?

【Opening Beginner Gift Pack!】

【Congratulations, Host. You have obtained Zombie Reaper: Blade of Sin. This weapon can slice through iron with ease, never wears down, and can effortlessly decapitate zombies.】

【Congratulations, Host. You have obtained a Spatial Pouch. It may only store nonliving objects, such as corpses and food. Maximum capacity is equivalent to one hundred zombie corpses.】

As the System’s voice faded, two objects appeared before Xiao Yi: a long-handled modao wreathed in ghostly flames and an utterly ordinary black cloth pouch.
