Apocalypse: I Built a City of Sin

Xiao Yi immediately got up and looked outside through the bathroom window.

Across the way, the door to one of the rooms in the faculty dormitory stood open. A man and a woman had been surrounded by a group of zombies. The man tried to break through with a wooden club, only to be dragged to the floor by several zombies. The woman seized the opportunity to retreat into the room and shut herself inside again.

“Idiot!” Xiao Yi sneered disdainfully.

“Isn’t that the beautiful professor from our economics department? Why was she in the same room as the vice president?” Shen Tingting asked in surprise.

Li Wanning could not bear watching the two people struggle for their lives across the courtyard. “Master, aren’t you going to save her? She’s the most beautiful professor at our university, and she’s always treated people well. They must have completely run out of supplies, or they never would have taken such a terrible risk.”

Xiao Yi knew the beautiful professor too. He had attended her classes before. As he watched her lecture from his seat, he had fantasized countless times about pressing himself tightly against her from behind.

She was simply too alluring. She possessed the mature temptation of a perfectly ripened peach, making inexperienced university boys yearn to take a bite.

But whenever she turned and swept the class with that cold, haughty gaze, Xiao Yi instinctively looked away. He felt both intimidated and painfully inferior.

She was too beautiful and too accomplished. Like a goddess atop an iceberg, she seemed almost impossible to look upon directly.

If Xiao Yi had not witnessed what had just happened, he might truly have risked everything to rescue the woman of his dreams and bring her back to his city, where he could take good care of her.

But seeing that untouchable beauty alone in a room with an old man left him disappointed.

There were only two ways the pair could have ended up hiding together. Either they had entered the room before the zombie outbreak, or they had been close enough afterward to slip into the same room when an opportunity appeared.

The first explanation was clearly the more likely one.

What would a man and woman have been secretly doing alone in a dorm room before the outbreak?

The thought filled Xiao Yi with contempt.

The beautiful professor’s image plummeted in his heart.

He was no longer desperate for women. In this apocalypse, countless women would willingly kneel at his feet if he demanded it.

Why should he risk his life for a woman he now considered tainted?

Xiao Yi dismissively pulled the curtain shut and dressed himself. Then he turned to Li Wanning and Shen Tingting.

“Pack everything useful in this room and give it to me. Then I’ll take you to my city.”

He had already delayed the burial of too many zombie corpses while indulging himself. All he wanted now was to return to the City of Sin and resume processing them.

The two women had become exceedingly obedient. As soon as Xiao Yi gave the order, they began packing.

Li Wanning was sensible enough. She gathered practical necessities such as bedding, clothes, and shoes.

But what was Shen Tingting thinking?

Facial cleanser? Cosmetics? Designer handbags of every kind?

Those items were at least small enough not to occupy much space. But what the hell was she doing with that enormous white bear pillow?

Xiao Yi was rendered speechless.

After making the women’s belongings vanish into his Spatial Pouch as if by magic, Xiao Yi took up his modao and led the way out of the room.

After killing so many zombies, he had grown accustomed to the sensation. With his improved physique, ordinary low-level zombies were no longer a challenge.

Even burdened with two liabilities, Xiao Yi needed only a little over five minutes to travel from the girls’ dormitory back to the City of Sin.

The path behind them was littered with zombies that he had hacked into pieces.

Once inside the city, Xiao Yi emptied the women’s belongings from his Spatial Pouch. Then he dumped all the corpses onto the open ground as well. More than twenty bodies lay densely packed together.

“From now on, your job is to bury these zombie corpses for me. The stone markers display how long each burial will take. You will make sure there is always a corpse being processed inside every Tomb. Do you understand?” Xiao Yi ordered sternly.

Both his own growth and the expansion of his city depended on the two Tombs processing corpses. Naturally, he regarded the work as extremely important. If the women could not manage such a simple task, Xiao Yi would have no objection to sending them back to their dormitory.

His city would not support useless freeloaders, no matter how beautiful they were!

“Yes, Master!” Li Wanning answered obediently with a bow.

Shen Tingting, however, pouted in dissatisfaction. “These zombies are disgusting! How can you bear to make two delicate beauties like us do this kind of work? Besides, we’re already your women. Shouldn’t you treat us a little better?”
