Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 548: Chapter 496: Zombie Baby_2

At that time, they were in a building in the small town, having already cleared it clean. Although they also took a quick look around, everything seemed as if there were no zombies, quiet.

But in the middle of the night, suddenly hundreds of zombies swarmed out from downstairs. These zombies had been hiding in a nearby basement, not coming out during the day, but as the night fell, they smelled human scent and flocked over.

That night, they suffered heavy casualties.

A bloody lesson.

From then on, whenever they stayed outside the base overnight, if not necessary, they wouldn’t stay in the city. Moreover, wherever they resided, they would check not only the place of residence but also the surrounding area if time permitted.

The third point: The place chosen must be easily accessible, with escape routes planned in advance.

After hearing the tasks arranged by Third Uncle, everyone dispersed.

Third Uncle looked around, thinking about the possible locations where humans and zombies might appear nearby, and then communicated with Old Qin and the others, telling them to focus their search on these areas.

Time slipped away bit by bit.

Third Uncle and his team drove their vehicles into the courtyard, which was quite large, more than two hundred square meters, enough to drive the vehicles inside.

They adjusted the positions of the vehicles, so they could exit the gate at any time without getting stuck because of panic.

Dapao and others came down from the building, their faces looking quite unpleasant.

Seeing his constipated expression, Third Uncle asked, ”What’s the matter? Is there a problem with this house?”

Dapao shook his head and then nodded, saying: ”There are no zombies inside, but there are about seven or eight corpses, whose deaths were gruesome. The bodies are already decomposed, it’s terrifying to look at. Third Uncle, why don’t you go and see for yourself?”

Hearing this, Third Uncle looked at Dapao, then at Li Gang and Shang Xue’er and others who went with him, noting that their expressions were also unsightly.

Curious, as they had seen all sorts of horrors since the apocalypse began, he went directly into the house.

After entering the house, Third Uncle asked, ”Where?”

Li Gang pointed upstairs and said, ”The third floor. The room on the far right.”

Third Uncle slowly walked upstairs. The sun had already set, and it was getting much darker outside; although one could see clearly outside, it was becoming dark inside.

So he turned on his flashlight, shining it forward.

Instantly, a crimson character on the wall caught his attention.

Die!

Die, all of you!

These characters seemed to have been written in blood, with special emphasis drawn in a circle around the word ”die.”

The originally white walls, now grayed and dingy in the apocalypse, with these characters written on them, made one’s hair stand on end.

It immediately put one on edge.

Third Uncle had a very strong heart; he kept his composure and continued to walk upstairs.

Approaching the stair corner, the moment the flashlight swept over, he saw a scene that made his eyes twitch slightly.

There was a painting on the wall at this corner - a person carrying a cross, with a snake’s body for the lower half and the upper half showing a human face covered with pustules and pupil-less white eyes, chilling to the bone.

Most strikingly, those all-white eyes seemed to gaze upon someone, giving an impression of being watched. The entire painting’s background was red blood and black viscera, which seemed to wriggle if one looked too long.

Third Uncle closely examined the painting, his face showing little emotion.

Behind him, Li Gang and Dapao exchanged glances. Li Gang raised his head slightly, his eyes seeming to say: See, what’s this to my dad?

Indeed, the painting was creepy.

Not lingering too long, Third Uncle continued upstairs.

Passing through the corridor, the word ”death” was on both sides of the walls - unsettling and unpleasant to the eyes and ears.

Taboo.

Without batting an eye, Third Uncle kept moving forward.

”Is it this room you’re talking about?” Third Uncle asked, pointing to the room on the far right of the third floor.

”Right,” Dapao said.

To be fair, he had experienced various turmoils, but when he had come up from downstairs and then searched this room, he was truly startled.

Third Uncle didn’t hesitate and pushed the door open directly.

The room was dim as the sun had set.

But when the flashlight in Third Uncle’s hand lit up the inside, the scene became clear in an instant.

The floor was red, originally white but seemingly soaked through with blood that dried over time, crusted, and fused into the color of the floor.

A bed, with two corpses on it, a knife embedded in each body. The flesh had rotted away to reveal the bones.

But what was really harrowing was the body on the right, where the belly had been clearly cut open. A few decimeters away from the belly lay an infant, clearly newly born, yet already displaying the appearance of a zombie!

A zombie infant!

It was unclear whether the woman had been infected while pregnant and gave birth to a zombie, or a zombie had given birth to a zombie infant.

It was a significant difference!

If zombies could give birth to little zombies, what the survivors who had lived through so much faced was despair!

It meant that zombies could never be wiped out completely!

Dapao and the rest must have realized this too, which is why their faces looked so terrible when they came downstairs.
