Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 525: Chapter 486: You Are Too Slow (Added Chapter, 3/10)

At this moment.

By the mountain forest.

The crescent moon has risen beyond the flying birds, the rosy clouds linger in the west with the setting sun.

Looking up.

Remnants of clouds toy with the fading sunlight, bringing clarity to the evening sky.

The group in the forest, eating dry rations, are conserving their energy.

Watching the afterglow of the sunset, they marvel at the greatness of the creator; the setting sun is infinitely beautiful, but it heralds the approach of dusk.

Yet, in this apocalyptic world, zombies could appear at any moment.

The sky grows darker, and though this area is remote, as the sun sets, the zombies’ sense of smell sharpens, attracting them in twos and threes toward this location.

Some arrive directly at the edge of the small woodland, disrupting the group while they were eating.

Third Uncle and others eliminate these zombies with knives.

As time passes, the number of zombies appearing increases from the initial two or three to groups of four or five, then seven or eight.

Everyone is growing anxious; they must quickly handle the situation at the prison, for spending the night in the wilderness will be extremely dangerous.

Moreover, if more zombies appear slowly, those on the prison walls might notice.

Everyone is longing for darkness to fall.

Finally, after about ten minutes, the sun sets and darkness rapidly ensues.

Being surrounded by mountains, the sun sets earlier here and nightfall comes quicker.

Six o’clock in the evening.

The sky has darkened considerably, although one can still see vague shapes, but it won’t be long before complete darkness sets in.

Third Uncle stands up, puts on his night vision goggles, and says to Old Qin, ”Let’s go, time for action.”

Old Qin also picks up an automatic rifle, dresses in a combat uniform, dons night vision goggles, and nods to Third Uncle.

Third Uncle turns back to look at everyone and says, ”Later, once we’ve dealt with them, we’ll contact you via walkie-talkie. You can drive the car in then.”

”Ok,” Li Tie nods solemnly.

Third Uncle glances at the prison, pitch-black.

Only at the main gate, there’s a bean-sized light.

Third Uncle and Old Qin exchange a look, then crouch down and dash towards the forest on the right.

On the right side of the prison is where the surveillance cameras are damaged, they plan to climb over the wall once they reach the forest on the right and it is completely dark.

Running under the veil of night; tonight’s moon is obscured by dark clouds, making it very dim.

By the time Third Uncle and his party reach the forest on the right, the sky is already as dark as ink.

Darkness makes for good cover.

Third Uncle takes out his walkie-talkie and informs Li Tie and the others, ”We’re making our move, you can come in about ten minutes.”

Ten minutes is Third Uncle’s estimate; after years of battling, he has a strong grasp on timing.

After speaking, Third Uncle and Old Qin sprint towards the prison like cheetahs.

Their movements are swift and decisive, without any hesitation.

Old Qin keeps up closely behind Third Uncle.

Their actions are invisible from the direction of the prison.

....

In the prison.

Prison Director’s Room.

Two burly men are toiling away, bare-chested.

In front of them are two fair-skinned, delicate-looking men.

This place was originally a men’s prison.

Some days ago, they even captured a few women from the outside.

But in this post-apocalyptic world, entertainment is scarce.

Many of the death row inmates in the prison are perverts.

Constantly oppressed and humiliated, they eventually met their deaths.

Now it’s back to men; the two delicate men, perhaps due to the length of time, seemed to have gotten used to it, their resistance greatly improved.

Their entire demeanor has become somewhat effeminate.

One of the burly men shakes uncontrollably, collapsing weakly.

The other burly man laughs heartily, ”Grasshopper, you’re still not up to it. You always lose, you just can’t cut it.”

The man called Grasshopper irritably slaps the man in front of him.

”It’s not that I can’t do it, why don’t you try? Dammit, Mantis, next time we’ll switch,” the man called Grasshopper says angrily.

”Hahaha, keep pretending. If you can’t, you can’t,” Mantis laughs unabashedly.

The lights in the room are bright, but as the shaking continues, the lightbulbs start to flicker.

Mantis says, ”Why is the power unstable again? Grasshopper, go check on the generator, see if it needs refueling.”

The other person says, ”We’re running low on diesel. You think Black Snake has been gone so long, could something have happened?”

”Heh! Better if he never comes back. If he does come back, what’s left for us to do? We should thank our boss Black Snake, he likes to rush to the forefront. I hope he never returns,” Mantis says arrogantly.

Hearing Mantis’ words, Grasshopper frowns and swallows back the words about going to find Black Snake that he was about to say.

Mantis is unpredictable; though he seems jovial, Grasshopper knows Mantis might be plotting something in his mind.

The man called Grasshopper dresses, glances at Mantis, shakes his head, then goes downstairs.

The mantis also turned his head at this moment, smiling towards the direction where the grasshopper had left, his mouth brimming with disdain and ruthlessness.

With continuous motion, he picked up a barbed iron wire beside him and whipped it over.

...

It took Uncle Three and his companion a minute and a half to reach the bottom of the prison wall. After arriving, Uncle Three glanced at the left and right sides with the corner of his eye.

Uncle Three, holding the Flying Tiger Claw, threw it forcefully upward.

Clatter!

The claw caught in a gap atop the wall. Uncle Three tugged on it to test its firmness and, finding no issues, began to climb directly upwards.

Next to him, Old Qin did the same, starting to climb a few meters away from Uncle Three.

The two climbed nimbly like monkeys, swiftly moving upwards.

Their speed was quick, in less than 20 seconds, both had reached the top.

Before Uncle Three was a row of barbed wire electric fences, densely arranged on top of the prison walls.

Uncle Three held onto a rope with one hand to stabilize his body, while the other hand took scissors from his pocket and began cutting the mesh.

His movements were very skilled, in less than thirty seconds Uncle Three had cut through and went directly inside.

After entering, Uncle Three saw through the Night Vision Goggles that there were four buildings, large and small, within the walls, and in front was an open area, which was probably used for the inmates’ outdoor time.

Behind the main gate, there were also some wire mesh fences made of iron wires that hinder people from going out.

Now, Old Qin had also come in.

Uncle Three gestured to move forward, and the two, bending their bodies, headed directly towards the direction of the main gate.

Their footsteps were fast, however, they made very little noise, almost inaudible.

In a minute, they could see four people at the main gate upon the wall, who were still playing cards.

Under the dim light, small paper notes stuck to the players’ faces.

Laughter came over.

”Old Zhang, hey, I’m not telling you, but you can’t default on this round, huh.”

”Go away, you’re the one who will default, I, Old Zhang, traverse the Martial World with trust.”

”You’re kidding me, have you forgotten how you got into prison? Cheating so much money from others, an amount so huge, cheating is one thing, but you even took lives to rob wealth!”

”Don’t talk about each other, you think I don’t know about you, you animal, you’re very own......”

...

Ignoring their banter, Uncle Three wasn’t concerned with what they were talking about. He knew that the prison was filled with death row inmates or those serving life without parole; these types of people didn’t need to be considered for survival.

He looked around; there were no other people.

He nodded at Old Qin across from him.

Both were wearing Night Vision Goggles and could see very clearly.

They approached slowly, one on the left and one on the right.

Each held a Dagger, reflecting a hint of cold light under the faint lamp.

The man sitting across suddenly looked up and saw the glint of cold light, followed by Uncle Three’s silhouette: ”Old Zhang, you....”

Uncle Three’s Dagger whizzed through the air, stabbing the man in the neck.

Gurgling, the man tried to speak, but the thrust through his neck made it impossible to utter words.

At the same time, Old Qin moved to stab the man sitting on the east side, then covered his mouth to prevent him from making a sound.

Uncle Three, after throwing his Dagger, swiftly twisted the neck of the man in front of him.

Crack!

The neck was twisted and broken by Uncle Three’s grip.

This scene occurred in the blink of an eye. The last man sitting on the left was completely unprepared.

He couldn’t understand how there could be people in this doomsday night.

No, was this meeting with a ghost?

He was so shocked that he forgot to scream.

At the same moment, Old Qin, after piercing the man, quickly pulled out the Dagger, and then stabbed into the neck of the man sitting on the left.

Splurt!

Blood oozed out profusely.

Gurgling, the man tried to scream, but there was no longer any chance.

Uncle Three walked slowly to the man he had just stabbed with his Dagger and said to Old Qin, ”You’re slow.”

Old Qin felt a touch of shame upon hearing these three words, and with a bit of embarrassment, he twisted the head of the man in his hands with force.

Finally, the man stopped making any sound.

In this kind of combat, a small mistake often leads to big trouble. The original plan was for each to take down two men, but Old Qin was too slow. If the man hadn’t been stunned for a second, he might have alerted others.

Old Qin’s face was gloomy, as dark as if water could drip from it.

He was angry with himself for being slow.

Uncle Three saw his expression and patted his shoulder.

Then he asked Old Qin to open the large iron gate from below the wall while he kept watch from atop.

He rearranged the four people to look as if they were still playing cards from a distance.

Taking out the radio, he spoke to Li Tie, Dapao, and the others, ”The gate’s open, come in. Quick.”

Below the walls, Old Qin pushed open the horizontal bars of the large iron gate and pulled it open with force.

Creak creak creak~

The large iron gate made some noise, which seemed abrupt amidst the quiet of the night.
