Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 546: Chapter 495: I’m Out of Here! (Unsealed in the previous Chapter)_2

After all items have slid down, they must be washed and disinfected. We should still have dozens of liters of alcohol in the car.

In addition, divide the remaining food into two meals worth. When eating later, try to consume as much food as possible.

We have been staying here for too long. If everyone moves quickly enough, I hope we can head down before 2:30 PM.

And return to base before 6 PM.”

It was neither too close nor too far for them to come over—a few hundred kilometers. Three and a half hours was still somewhat pressing.

However, this was just a warning given by Third Uncle to make everyone speed up their actions.

Everyone began to pack up their belongings and organized them with extreme speed.

Eat, equip.

Third Uncle watched everyone and thought for a moment before saying, ”I have a suggestion. We all carry some bedding, and I propose we tear it with a knife and tie it around our bodies’ vital parts—although we already have protective suits, hands, and calves. I think you should also take precautions to ensure you aren’t bitten and infected by zombies.”

Old Lü nodded and said, ”This suggestion is very good. Caution is the parent of safety. Everyone needs to pay attention.”

No one had any reason to oppose, although it was somewhat a waste of fabric, but they knew there was a lot more of this stuff back at the base.

However, a person’s life is only one, and in this post-apocalyptic world, a life is all too fragile.

Having said all this, Third Uncle also began to prepare his own things.

Everyone moved quickly, and in less than half an hour, they had finished eating and had tied up all their equipment properly.

And the bound items were all tied into a spherical shape, so later when they were thrown down, they could roll down and out of the zombie pile.

These corpse mountains were somewhat too large.

Tens of meters high of zombie corpses, with dozens of meters in length. Without some buildings blocking them, these zombie corpses could roll much further from above.

The buildings nearby the water tower, some of which were closest, had zombies’ corpses rolled into them.

This scene was extremely shocking. If a stranger were to come by, they would probably be flabbergasted by this sight.

But for those who caused all of this, like Third Uncle and the others, who see it every day, had long been numb to such scenes.

At this moment, all they wanted was to get back home quickly.

”Throw!” Third Uncle shouted from atop the water tower.

The first group of five people threw towards the open space over there.

Five bundles rolled outwards.

Boom boom boom boom—

After the bundles rolled down, they fell over the slope of zombie mounds and continued to roll downward.

Finally, they rolled to the edge of the corpses and ended up on an empty patch of ground.

”Next group.” Third Uncle shouted again.

They couldn’t allow everyone to throw them randomly at the same time, as the bundles might collide in mid-air, or after being thrown, they might fall among the zombie mounds, and then they would have to crawl over and retrieve them by hand.

Everyone was quick and quickly disposed of their stuff in groups.

At last, everyone had thrown down their belongings.

Third Uncle was the first to go down. Stepping onto the mound of zombies, he sank a little, but for the moment, no live zombie corpses were found.

Third Uncle put on his mask, fastened his helmet, and lay directly on the zombie mound.

Then he rolled down in a ”one” shape.

Gurgle gurgle—

After rolling for dozens of meters on the zombie mound, as he got to the peripheral areas, there were fewer zombie bodies.

But the rolling speed also picked up.

Thwack—

Third Uncle rolled straight into a wall, but he quickly stood up, slowly removed his helmet, and gave a thumbs-up to the people on the water tower.

Seeing this, the tense companions finally relaxed.

The second to roll down was Old Qin. He imitated Third Uncle’s actions. After stepping on the corpses, he fell down and then rolled down.

The purpose of falling in this way was to reduce pressure and quickly emerge from the zombie pile, which was the best strategy.

If one stood with both feet, the entire body’s weight would rest on them, and the zombie corpses below might collapse.

They had only dealt with the zombies on the surface of this small hill from above, and it was unclear if any were alive below.

It was like being in a desert; the larger the surface area in contact with the ground, the less likely you are to sink.

But if you are standing up, you are much more likely to sink down.

Qin was also very smooth.

Next were Li Tie, Li Gang, Dapao, Yang Tianlong...

But when Lao Lü was coming down, either because everyone had descended from the same spot, which had caused a bit of a depression due to trampling, or perhaps because there were some zombies still alive and trying to climb up,

just when Lao Lü stepped on a zombie corpse, suddenly a hand grabbed Lao Lü’s foot.

That scared Lao Lü silly.

Dapao and Qin, who had already descended, were now up on the wall with their sniper rifles, watching the scene unfold.

Bang~

Qin fired a shot, squarely blowing the head off of that zombie in the pile.

A stroke of luck.

Lao Lü was sweating profusely, his entire back drenched; his other foot dared not step backward.

Following the gunshot, Third Uncle said to Lao Lü on the water tower, ”Hurry down, put on your helmet. You’re completely wrapped up; even if you encounter living zombies, they definitely can’t do anything to you. Besides, there are hardly any alive. Plus, you have Qin and Dapao covering you, come on, hurry down.”

Hearing this, Lao Lü’s face reddened slightly, feeling a bit embarrassed; the suddenness of the moment was to blame. Who the hell wouldn’t be scared if suddenly a hand grabbed your foot?

Lao Lü no longer hesitated, steeled his heart, then stepped down and rolled down just like the others had.

Thump.

He safely crashed into the wall.

One by one, the others followed, descending from above.

Soon, they had all come down.

Regrettably, no matter how they rushed, they couldn’t get everything ready before 2:30 pm. By the time everyone had descended, it was already three in the afternoon.

Dapao and Li Tie, who descended first, were getting vehicles out.

Although there weren’t many zombie corpses at the front gate, a few had still accumulated; at the back gate, it was somewhat better.

So, they directed the vehicles to the rear gate.

On the way, hundreds of zombies concealed within the prison buildings also emerged.

But they had been dealt with by Third Uncle and others, who had made preparations in advance.

Despite the twists and turns coming down from the water tower, the outcome was good.

By the time they finished preparing to escape the pursuing horde of zombies, it was already four-thirty in the afternoon.

The Zombie Tide was truly terrifying.

They lacked the type of loaders they had at the base; those loaders at the base could shovel up twenty or thirty tons of weight in one go.

There were fewer zombie corpses at the back gate, but still a pile about two or three meters high,

They had to clear these corpses before they could leave the prison.

They had to get out of there, the place had too many buildings. The various noises earlier had already drawn out hundreds of zombies, but they knew all too well that the prison held far more than just a few hundred zombies.

There were many more zombies, hiding within the prison buildings, and once night fell, it would be the most dangerous place.

Unless they returned to the water tower.

They were already tired of life on the water tower; too anxiety-inducing.

Boom rumble~

Li Tie drove the Unimog out from the prison’s rear gate, the sounds of crushing over zombie corpses bringing him a hint of pleasure.

”Old man, where do we go now?” Li Tie asked, looking at the setting sun.

Third Uncle glanced at his watch, it was now past five in the afternoon, in at most forty minutes, the sun would set.

He didn’t want to return to the water tower.

Nor did he want to be near big cities anymore. Once it rains or gets dark, with such a large number of zombies, the pressure would be too great.

”Let’s leave the city area and head south. We’ll find a suitable place on the road and get away from here,” Third Uncle said.

Everyone felt lingering fears and couldn’t help thinking about the even larger city’s Zombie Tide... how terrifying it would be...

They looked back on their past ten or so days’ experiences, which were as torturous as purgatory.

Hundreds of thousands in a Zombie Tide, a terror without equals.

Dapao turned back to look at the prison, the outside still strewn with many zombie corpses. Then, that familiar water tower, in the glow of the setting sun, took on a somber and stern look.

Dapao’s feelings were mixed, but in the end, they condensed into a single thought: I’m fucking outta here!

With a mix of sadness, dissatisfaction, and... frustration.
