Chapter 526: Chapter 487: Raining, Chaotic Battle (4/10, asking for subscriptions and monthly tickets)

Drip-drip! Tick-tock!

Without any warning, rain began to fall from the sky.

And it only grew fiercer.

Li Tie and others in the small woods were now desperately watching the ever-increasing number of zombies.

They had not anticipated the zombie numbers to grow so rapidly, and their ranks were swelling at an alarming rate.

At first, they were able to deal with the zombies using spears and daggers, but the appearance of dozens of zombies eventually nearly forced them to use guns.

”The gate’s open, come on in,” Li Tie nearly cried with excitement upon hearing the few words from dad.

Li Tie excitedly shouted to everyone, ”Get in the car, get in the car, the gate’s open!”

Everyone was overjoyed, hurriedly pulling out their spears and heading towards the vehicle.

Rumble rumble~

The vehicle roared.

Headlights came on, illuminating the road ahead.

The rain kept pouring harder.

From pattering to torrential.

It wasn’t far to begin with, and in less than two minutes, they charged through the prison’s large iron gates.

Finally, the commotion caught the attention of the people in prison. Several people poured out of the prison buildings to see what was going on.

But as soon as they emerged, Third Uncle shot them with a rifle.

As the vehicle came to a halt, Li Tie hurriedly had Zhou close the big iron gate; due to the rain, many zombies were following the vehicle.

Bang!

The iron gate closed. A few seconds later, the banging of zombies hitting the gate.

...

In the largest building in the center, Mantis heard the commotion and listened carefully, which seemed to be the sound of rain.

He was also at a critical moment, and with a convulsion, everything seemed tasteless.

He numbly dressed, telling the person in front of him, ”Go check what’s happening, I just heard some noises.”

The handsome man in front of him gave him a resentful look and said, ”It’s raining outside; isn’t it normal to hear some noise? Zombies will come when it rains...”

”Just go if I tell you to, no more nonsense!” After speaking, Mantis whipped him again with the barbed wire.

Rip~

The handsome man dared not retort any longer and could only climb up with difficulty, limping towards the door.

Outside, under the cover of rain, Dapao and his group occupied the fence, and were firing wildly at the prisoners who had just come out of the rooms.

Because their guns had silencers, the noise was not loud.

According to the original plan, Li Tie led a few people behind the fence and ran towards the back door.

Seeing that Dapao and his group had the gate under control, Third Uncle led Lao Lu and others into the prison.

Old Qin also wanted to follow, but Third Uncle stopped him and pointed to the tallest building in the prison, saying, ”Old Qin, you’re a great shot, a born sniper; provide support from up there.”

Old Qin acknowledged and did not refuse, then quickly ran towards it.

The prison layout was simple, just comprised of a few buildings.

The building where the prison guards and the director resided, as well as the prisoner cells.

There was also a larger dining hall nearby, and the rest were sparse factory buildings with no one inside.

Third Uncle said to Li Gang, ”The eight of you go take care of that building. Lao Lu, you go too.”

Then he said to the rest, ”Everyone else, follow me to the largest building in the middle.”

They split into five groups, with Third Uncle heading to the Prison Director’s Room, Li Gang and others to the prisoner cells, Li Tie and Dapao leading Lao Zhou and others to the front and back gates, with others occupying the high ground on the fence. Old Qin provided support from above.

Everyone dispersed.

Many prisoners continued to emerge from the buildings.

But these prisoners were unarmed.

For Li Gang and his men, the response was very simple: just slaughter.

The building where the prison guards and director resided probably housed the more privileged people in the prison - and they were the most likely to have guns.

Third Uncle charged in the front, his gunshots relentless.

...

At the same time, Li Tie was leading a few people to the back door along the fence. There were still people at the back door; once that was blocked, the prisoners inside the prison would be trapped like turtles in a jar, awaiting their fate.

In the rain, zombies outside the fence howled weakly, watching Li Tie and the others sprinting atop the fence.

Braving the rain, Li Tie was completely soaked, but he had no time to wipe the rain off his face.

meters, in the blink of an eye, and seeing those two people hiding by the wall at the Observation Tower, Li Tie breathed a sigh of relief.

Drip-drop, drip-drop.

The two men in the Observation Tower watched the Zombies outside the wall and started chatting.

”Every time it rains, I feel grateful. Damn it, the apocalypse has come; is there any place safer than our prison?”

”Hehe, you’re right. This apocalypse has given us a chance at rebirth. Last time I went out with the boss, I ran into a former classmate. The guy had a house and a car, a real winner in life.

Come the apocalypse, he ended up no better than a dog, and finally, I watched him get bitten to death by a Zombie, hahaha.”

”Heh, huh? What’s that?” Suddenly, the burlier man caught sight of Li Tie’s figure.

Because of the rain, their attention was on the Zombies outside the wall, completely unaware that someone had approached from behind.

At this point, they were less than 30 meters away from Li Tie.

The skinnier man, unable to make out the figures clearly through the rain, especially at night, could only see a few dark shapes from their vantage point.

He suggested, ”Could it be Third Brother’s crew coming to look for us?”

The other man replied, ”Could be. Ask them. With this rain, they’re probably worried we can’t guard the gate properly. Last time, we got caught slacking off.”

So he shouted loudly, ”Hey—up front, did Third Brother send you over? What’s the matter? Don’t worry, the Zombies won’t get past us two brothers here, rain or no rain.”

Li Tie smiled on hearing this.

He had thought about shooting these two men directly, but with the rain, and them being inside a room, it was not an easy shot.

So he yelled, ”Big Brother wants you to come over, it’s urgent.”

The two in the Observation Tower, hearing this unfamiliar voice, thought nothing of it, considering how many people were in the prison; not everyone knew each other.

They couldn’t imagine that someone would be able to sneak in on such a rainy night, with so many Zombies outside.

Impossible, absolutely impossible, it didn’t even cross their minds.

Thus, their guard was down.

The two exchanged a glance, feeling uneasy. Every time the boss called for them, it was never good news, and now they wondered what it could be this time.

But now that the boss had called for them, and knowing Third Brother’s nasty temper, they found themselves even more nostalgic for the times when Black Snake was around.

Although Black Snake wasn’t exactly Mr. Nice Guy, Third Brother’s way of doing things was even more despicable.

You could never guess what Third Brother would do next.

”Let’s hurry up and get out there, or if the boss waits too long, our fate will be even worse,” said the leaner man, his face pale as he remembered some unpleasant experiences, speaking to the muscular man beside him.

The two quickly came out from the Observation Tower.

Just as they turned their heads, about to ask what Third Brother wanted from them,

Li Tie was already less than 5 meters away.

The muscular man had just turned around: ”What does the boss need from us? Hey! Something’s not right, I’ve never seen you before, oh no, are you guys the new recruits, no that’s not right... who exactly are you...”

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

The muscular man was shot in the heart and collapsed powerlessly.

And the thinner man next to him, realizing what had happened, hastily tried to raise his gun.

But it was already too late. Zhou, who had been keeping an eye on them, fired a shot that hit the skinnier man right between the eyes.

With two gunshots, the area once again became silent; only the sounds of raindrops falling on the wall, the steady dripping, and the growling of Zombies outside could be heard.

Li Gang spoke to Zhou, ”Uncle Zhou, according to my dad’s plan, we need to guard the rear gate here. I can take a few people to keep watch.

You guys can go and support my dad.”

Zhou nodded, not objecting; having joined Big Camphor Tree Base and feeling a kinship with Li Tie, who had also served in the military, he casually agreed, ”Alright, then leave this area to you guys.”

Zhou had his own little plan; having joined the Big Camphor Tree Base, he was following Qin, and since Qin was fully committed, he naturally had no objections.

Moreover, after seeing the Big Camphor Tree Base, he really appreciated some of their views. Besides, Li Yu and his people owed them favors.

Without Li Yu’s intervention back then, they wouldn’t have been able to deal with the trouble; those bastards from Wu Sheng Laomu would have kept returning to cause problems.

So, after understanding the Rank System, he knew he needed to make contributions soon to gain higher access and prove his worth for a better life.

A better life, for him, meant a chance to enjoy a good drink.

The last time Li Yu had given a few bottles of wine to Qin, Zhou was itching for a taste.

Last time, although Qin shared some, it didn’t quite satisfy him.

If he could make some contributions and get some wine, wouldn’t that be normal?

And with even greater contributions, perhaps he could get some even finer aged wine.

With these thoughts, Zhou felt excited and, with a handgun in hand, he ran eagerly towards where Third Uncle was.
