Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 522: Chapter 485: Why Fear a Battle! (Two-in-One)

There is no such thing as unprovoked love or groundless hate.

In this world, nobody owes anyone anything, especially in the apocalypse. To be able to take care of oneself is already an achievement.

What’s more, the actions of these survivors have chilled the hearts of Captain Luo and his team. As a result, everyone agreed to stop worrying about these survivors.

Since they had reached a consensus, Captain Luo and the others prepared to pack up and leave.

Neither Old Yi nor Old Bi objected, although it was hard to leave a place they had found some stability in after being displaced for so long in the apocalypse. Now they had to move to an unknown future, which naturally made them reluctant.

But they were well aware that sooner or later they would face the issue of food, and with wave after wave of ferocious Zombie Tides, they were worn thin. Furong Mountain was indeed not suitable for long-term development.

It would be better to find a quiet rural area away from the city that was suitable for settling down in the future.

Thus, everyone began to pack their belongings, check their equipment, and realized that, aside from a lack of food, they were also running low on ammunition. They had been conserving bullets, but without resupply, they were now short.

The last time Captain Luo and others had gone out for food, they took half the base’s supply of bullets. Now, on average, each person had less than 30 rounds left, totaling just over a thousand rounds among all of them.

In the apocalypse, cars were plentiful, but what they lacked was gasoline and diesel. Although many gas stations still had plenty, without electricity, gas was hard to come by.

However, they had their ways of getting some gas through various means.

Having made up their minds, everyone began to pack, loading up items such as bedding, clothes, and more onto the vehicles.

.....

In the north, Third Uncle and his team did not stop but sped towards the direction of the prison. Along the way, they would encounter some Zombies, but they would bulldoze right through them.

Even for meals, everyone would eat in the vehicle.

It was springtime, a season of rebirth. The roadside trees sprouted branches, lush and vibrant.

However, Third Uncle and his team didn’t pause, just kept driving northward.

”Third Uncle, according to the map, we are almost there. It’s three in the afternoon now; we’ll need about half an hour more. It gets dark after five, so shall we stay near the prison tonight?” Li Hang asked.

After pondering for a bit, Third Uncle answered, ”Let’s see when we get there, I’m not sure what it’s like on that side.”

Li Hang nodded and said no more.

Shortly, half an hour flew by.

The vehicles parked on the right side of the road within a small grove. The prison was located in the suburbs of the provincial capital. It occupied a large area, so its location was quite remote.

There were no other buildings around this area. The entire prison was built on a vast expanse of open land, desolate and undeveloped.

From the small grove some 400 meters away from the prison, Third Uncle and the others observed the prison using their telescope, hidden behind the trees.

The prison walls were very high, over 7 meters, and there were some electrified fences on top, although these electric fences seemed to be turned off.

The prison walls were made of smooth, gray cement.

Right in front, there was a large iron gate with barriers at the entrance. The heavy iron gate was closed tightly, and a few people stood guard above it.

Third Uncle turned to the others and said, ”I’m going to scout around the base. You all wait here. Xiao Tie, Xiao Hang, after I leave, take charge.”

After he finished, he seemed to remember something and called out to Old Qin in the distance, ”Old Qin, come with me.”

At the call from the captain, Old Qin felt a shiver run through his body and quickly responded, ”Yes, Captain.”

Joy was written all over his face; after so many years, he would finally work with the captain again.

The familiar feeling, deep in his memory, rushed back to him, and his body seemed to grow years younger.

In the past, their team’s coordination was so in sync that a single glance was enough to convey each other’s thoughts, unleashing powerful combat capabilities.

Old Qin stepped forward, following Third Uncle away.

Together, Third Uncle and Old Qin were over eighty years of age, but their movements were not sluggish.

With a swift move, they disappeared into the woods.

The others watched them leave, as if witnessing two fierce beasts awakening from a long slumber.

Third Uncle’s speed was fast; the physical conditioning of their old squad was exceptional, and only those who had been meticulously selected joined their ranks.

Their skill in coordination, honed through various trainings, was extremely high.

In the entire base, aside from Li Yu, not a single person could keep up with Third Uncle’s pace, and now there was also Old Qin.

They ran swiftly, and their special breathing method for running allowed them not to fatigue too much, even at high speeds.

As he ran, Third Uncle glanced back at Old Qin, noticing that Old Qin was closely following him.
