Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 541: Chapter 493: Carrying (Additional update, two in one, ten thousand updates for monthly ticket, subscription) _2

Three people and ten zombies constituted one round, taking turns with their duties.

Third Uncle saw that there were still a dozen people standing behind them, so he said, ”We don’t need so many people, leave three as substitutes, and the rest of you go rest.”

After finishing speaking, he added, ”Send two more people to observe the situation in other directions of the platform at all times.”

Then, he also established a rest schedule, ensuring there are always 8 people outside on the platform resisting the zombies and keeping watch, out of their group of over forty people.

Basically, they could take turns for about five rounds.

Everyone was very tired now, and Li Tie and the others were also struggling, so he let everyone start with half an hour per round.

After one round, they would then switch to calculating every hour per round.

Who knows how long this rain will last.

However, the food they carried, like compressed biscuits and other things, could last them for half a month.

There’s no need to worry about water for now, the heaven’s rootless water... was more than enough.

When Li Tie came up, he even carried two 50-pound batteries up, a tough task for them given the height...

But with these batteries, some of the electric stoves they brought could be used, and Shang Xue’er prepared a pot of ginger water, distributing it to everyone to warm their bodies.

Having been rained on for so long, without drinking something like this, it would be only a matter of time before they caught colds.

In fact, some people were already sneezing, but they always had a medicine box on hand. Taking out some Cold Medicine and gulping it down was considered a fix.

In this small room, on the far right side, just by the door, everyone pulled an iron wire across, then hung their soaked clothes there.

On the left side, everyone placed their simple sleeping bags against the corner of the wall. With more than forty people in a fifty-square-meter space, if everyone came in at once, they could just barely lie down, even needing to greet their neighbors to shift slightly.

However, as eight or nine people always needed to stay outside, and some felt it was too crowded inside, they went outside under the eaves of this small room. Although not as warm as indoors, it could still block most of the wind and rain.

Thus, this small room generally wouldn’t hold more than 30 people at the same time, making the room somewhat more spacious.

There were seven or eight windows in this small house, all tightly closed, only the door was left open, as people were constantly entering and exiting.

Everyone was a bit hungry, so they each found a spot, eating dry food and the freshly boiled hot water together. After eating, they tidied up the place briefly and then spread out the still dry sleeping bags and crawled in, quickly falling asleep.

In the room, the sound of snoring soon filled the air.

Third Uncle changed into a dry set of clothes, his upper half in a tight sweatshirt, his dragon-like muscles clinging to his clothes, the bulging muscles as if to show others his great strength.

Third Uncle pulled out a cigarette from his wet pocket, but upon pulling it out, found that the cigarette had long been soaked.

Third Uncle was under the eaves outside the small room, as it was too small inside and not good for smoking as it wasn’t ventilated.

Looking at the rain-soaked cigarette, Third Uncle felt helpless.

At this moment, Old Lü came over, handing him a dry one, ”It’s freshly opened, not wet.”

Third Uncle took it with a smile, ”Thanks.”

Old Lü slowly exhaled white smoke, not sure whether he was talking to himself or to Third Uncle, ”Us folks, living one day at a time, are lucky.”

Third Uncle just smiled, not responding to his words, feeling the fluctuating rain threads flying under the eaves.

His shoes had long been soaked.

The dampness in the air gave their noses a chilly sensation, making their bodies sticky.

In the air, there seemed to be a cold scent possibly due to the strong wind, or the persistent rain, feeling much colder now than before below.

On this platform more than thirty meters high, feeling its slight swaying from the beginning until now gradually growing accustomed to it, didn’t take much time.

Third Uncle finished smoking under the eaves outside the small room and then returned inside, already feeling fatigued himself.

Once inside, he took off his wet shoes and then his soaked socks.

The people in the base were quite polite, among the forty-plus companions, there were three female comrades, and everyone tried to leave more space for them.

The three female comrades occupied almost 10 square meters of space.

The base did not prohibit free love and marriage.

But forced behavior was forbidden.

Moreover, so far, those who joined the Big Camphor Tree Base had their character examined, so generally, there were no significant issues.

Third Uncle found a corner, didn’t crawl into a sleeping bag but wore a jacket, then leaned the sleeping bag against the wall, half on the wall, half on the ground.

Third Uncle with his upper body against the wall and his lower body on the ground, just sat there to sleep.

The handgun was always in his hand, never put down; in this aspect, he was somewhat like Li Yu, who always entered combat mode habitually whenever he went outside on missions.

Within 30 seconds, Third Uncle gently fell asleep.

As such, he slept with the wind and rain outside continuing unabated, without the slightest sign of stopping.
