Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 534: Chapter 490: Burning Zombies! _3

They didn’t use this many bullets just now with the prisoners in the prison.

Third Uncle rubbed his eyes, constantly staring at the fire, feeling discomfort in his eyes.

Looking back at the Water Tower, it was the tallest structure in the prison, over thirty meters high, nearly the height of a ten-story building.

The Water Tower had a reinforced concrete structure, with a base in the form of a cylinder over twenty meters high and about ten meters in diameter.

Above was a large, bowl-like shape with a diameter of about fifteen meters.

In the middle of this cylinder, there was a metal pole staircase, which appeared very sturdy. There was also a railing surrounding the stairs to prevent people from falling down.

After pondering for a moment, Third Uncle felt it was necessary to prepare early. He said to Li Tie beside him, ”Xiao Tie, take three men to tidy up that Water Tower first, also move some of our food, sleeping bags, and other such items from our cars up there.”

Li Tie heard this and said, ”Dad, are you thinking of leaving us a back way out?”

Third Uncle said, ”This rain, I don’t know how long it will last. We only have these five barrels of diesel in the prison, which won’t last long. If we had brought that modified loader for killing zombies from the base earlier, it wouldn’t have been so troublesome. But now we don’t have enough diesel, and eventually, we will run out of bullets.

We must prepare early and cannot wait until the worst results occur. By then, it will be too late!”

Hearing his father say this, Li Tie looked at the zombies burning outside the wall. As the diesel gradually burned out, more zombies surged up fiercely.

Every twenty to thirty minutes, they needed to add some diesel, or they couldn’t maintain it.

Meanwhile, in the distance, from the forest towards the main road leading to the prison, zombies were continuously flocking their way.

So, he said to his father, ”Alright, I’ll go now.”

He then went with a few others to transport items from the car, including some ammunition, hand grenades, food, and sleeping bags, and so on.

Actually, they didn’t carry all their bullets on them. One bullet weighs 30 to 50 grams, and 500 to 600 bullets weigh about 15 to 30 kg, which averages to about 30 to 60 pounds of bullets.

Carrying these bullets with them would be like carrying a few dozen pounds of iron, which would indeed be too heavy.

Third Uncle watched Li Tie and the others moving items, and finally took a deep breath.

The incident was sudden, encountering such a level of Zombie Tide was also a test for them.

He looked slowly towards the outside of the wall.

Bang bang bang~

He fired a few shots at the few zombies at the forefront, which were already engulfed in flames, yet still crazed.

”Don’t know how long we can hold out,” Third Uncle muttered.

......

Far south of the prison, hundreds of kilometers away in the Southern.

Big Camphor Tree Base.

It had been almost twenty hours since Third Uncle and others had left.

It was a clear sky in the morning, unexpectedly, as night fell, it started raining, and the rain became heavier and heavier.

Li Yu looked outside from the duty room, the rain pouring down heavily.

Seeing the crazed zombies below the wall, he began to worry somewhat.

At the base, after several reinforcements, not only had the width been strengthened to five meters, but the height was directly raised to eighteen meters.

Even the height of the Outer City reached twelve meters.

These works were continuously being done; Ding Jiu and the other former workers, whenever not on a mission, would keep reinforcing the base. Over time, the walls of the base grew higher, wider, and more stable.

Now, as the heavy rain poured, if Third Uncle had reached the prison, he might be fighting with the prisoners. If fighting, he then faced two enemies, zombies and prisoners.

If he hadn’t arrived yet, it would be extremely dangerous on the road, especially on such a rainy night.

Li Yu couldn’t possibly send people out to search.

With the heavy rain, especially at night, sending people out would be like sending them to be devoured by zombies.

Forget about rescuing anyone, going out would be a sacrifice.

The only option was to wait.

Moreover, the base was currently facing a Zombie Tide. Although it had been stabilized several times and there was experience in resistance, and it had become a familiar sight,

but when facing a Zombie Tide, one must not underestimate the threat.
