Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Jiang Xinyu felt much more comfortable upon returning home; she just couldn’t get comfortable in the hospital.

The happiest person to see Jiang Xinyu return was Jiang Shijing.

He stayed with his mom instead of following Shang Zhenkun.

”Mom?”

”Mom is feeding your sister, do you want some?” Jiang Xinyu felt guilty that her son only breastfed for four months.

Wei Kaiyun listened on the side and looked unhappily at his son.

”No, give it to my sister.”

This made Wei Kaiyun happy. It wasn’t because their son gave it to his sister but because their son rejected the offer.

”Shijing, your sister can’t eat that much; you can share with her for now. Once she can’t get enough, you will stop, okay?”

The little one was longing for it, and hearing his mom’s words, he nodded happily.

After feeding her daughter, Jiang Xinyu patted her and placed her to the side. She lifted the other side and had her son sit on her lap to feed him.

The little boy had no memory whatsoever of breastfeeding; he had grown stronger, and Jiang Xinyu felt uncomfortable and pained.

Wei Kaiyun had been watching his wife closely, and when he saw her furrow her brow, he promptly approached her, looking at her worriedly.

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, ”It’s fine.”

Thus, Wei Kaiyun became the devoted dad again, getting up at night to take care of the daughter.

Jiang Xinyu saw him happy every day and stopped commenting.

On Saturday, Zhang Baozhen and Zhang Shuping came over to see the child.

”Wow, this little one is just like her brother. Once she grows, she should be prettier than him.”

”Ha, if my daughter ends up too masculine-looking, I’ll be crying.”

”Xinyu, you are truly blessed,” Zhang Baozhen sighed.

”It’s okay; now that we have both son and daughter, of course, we feel blessed.”

”When will you go back to school?” Zhang Shuping asked.

”I took a forty-day leave; I should be able to return by mid-November. A friend from the Capital sent a few baby bottles; even if I’m not here, my daughter will have something to eat.”

”That’s great. With her dad taking care of her,” Zhang Baozhen laughed.

Jiang Xinyu sighed, ”Her dad has to leave after the New Year.”

”That’s still several months away. Not bad at all.”

Jiang Xinyu nodded, indeed feeling quite fortunate, especially with Bai Hongying and Shang Zhenkun at home. It’s a blessing in disguise.

”By the way, here’s your mail,” Zhang Baozhen pulled out two letters from her bag.

Jiang Xinyu glanced at them; one was from She Xiaoyun, and the other should be from Lv Beiguang.

”Thank you, Sister Baozhen.”

”No need to be polite. I saw your letters when picking up mine, so I brought them along.”

”You’ve got lots of mail.”

Jiang Xinyu smiled, sensing Zhang Shuping’s change in attitude, unaware of how she had offended her.

”They’re all old friends. Back then, as a secretary, I met many in the same field.”

The two stayed for lunch, enjoying the rich meals that always include meat, making it quite sumptuous.

Wei Kaiyun showed no interest in eating today and instead joined Jiang Xinyu for her meal.

”It’s not good for you to be like this,” Jiang Xinyu glanced at him helplessly.

”What’s wrong? They’re all ladies; it’s better if I don’t interfere.”

Jiang Xinyu couldn’t argue with his reasoning.

They stayed to rest until after dinner before leaving.

Zhang Baozhen looked down a bit on Zhang Shuping. What’s the point? No one invited you, and there you are saying things like that in front of others. Is it really appropriate?

When the child was twelve days old, Wei Kaiyun specifically found a photographer to take pictures of the daughter. He arranged for a photo session on the full month as well.

”How did you manage to get them?”

”Money, just pay them. Wife, don’t worry about the money; I still have a house in the county with several tens of thousands of yuan. Feel free to spend.”

”How did I not know you have a house in the county?”

”When I joined you for meals, I went home to get supplies, didn’t I? Didn’t I mention it?”

The couple exchanged looks and laughed, ”Wife, the key is in the single jar in the room you stay in. When you get home, take the money, and the basement has some stuff for you to collect.”

”Alright, I bet they’re good things?”

”They’re all great things. I’ll keep saving more for our daughter and son.

I’ll try my best to come for you. If not, I’ll send someone.”

”It’s okay. I don’t mind. If not, I’ll leave everything behind and set them up when I get home. With Master Shang watching over Shijing, I’ll manage with our daughter.

By the way, what name should we give our daughter?”

”How about Jiang Feifei?”

”Not the Wei surname?”

”The Wei surname is just my master’s; I don’t know my father’s surname, so let’s stick with Jiang.”

”Alright, Feifei it is.

I’ll register her on the household when she’s a month old.”

”Hmm, I can do it too.”

”Better if I go, less trouble.”

”Wife, didn’t you notice the box in the basement of the Provincial City’s house?”

”I hadn’t noticed.”

”They’re all good things; check them out when you get a chance.”

”Are there things hidden elsewhere?”

Wei Kaiyun shook his head, indicating nothing else was hidden in the house or elsewhere; he lacked the means to accumulate so many treasures.

Jiang Xinyu now spent daily sessions on the heated brick bed trying to shed belly fat, though effects were minimal; only her bust noticeably changed to an E-cup, while her belly stayed flabby and thighs remained chunky, the rest was okay.

Wei Kaiyun had advised countless times, but Jiang Xinyu wouldn’t listen. These pounds belong to her; others can’t truly understand the discomfort within.

The day her daughter turned a month old came. The photographer no longer needed an invite, simply showed up.

The little girl had grown, lively and adorable. Held by parents, she faced the camera without fuss.

Finally out of confinement, Jiang Xinyu relished a warm bath, with her belly receding slightly; though still terrifying, pregnancy marks faded much compared to post-birth.

Wei Kaiyun waited impatiently outside. Why hasn’t she come out?

Once she wrapped her head, donned the cotton coat, she quickly ran to the bedroom.

Wei Kaiyun followed, ready with towels to help his wife dry her hair.

After changing two towels, he finally managed to dry it.

Jiang Xinyu felt relaxed all over, and her mood improved tremendously.

Wei Kaiyun lay beside Jiang Xinyu, softly speaking.

”Wife, I miss you.”
