Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Kong Mengjie struggled hard, but how could she be a match for the grip of a man in his prime?

Dragged into the room, Kong Mengjie felt her fear reach its peak, yet she saw Zhao Zhongshuo actually turn around and lock the living room door.

”What are you doing?”

”Mengjie, I told you you would regret leaving me, regret being with that old man.”

”Zhao Zhongshuo, I’ll say it again, you need to leave.”

Kong Mengjie wanted to turn around and run into her room, but the bedroom had no door.

”Mengjie, just be with me. I don’t fancy any other woman now. My heart and my eyes are only on you. You can’t be that cruel to me?

You and Huang Hongwei set a trap for me, and it doesn’t matter that I didn’t become the team leader. You like being the leader. And I can still help you become one in the future.

Don’t underestimate me, I have that capability.”

”Leave, I don’t need it.”

”It’s not up to you.”

Huang Hongwei suddenly stepped forward and hugged Kong Mengjie.

Kong Mengjie struggled hard, fighting against Zhao Zhongshuo.

But ultimately, she still fell victim to him.

Afterward, Zhao Zhongshuo lay atop Kong Mengjie, saying, ”Mengjie, you’re so good, so good. Why else would that old pervert stick with you even if he’s disgraced?”

Kong Mengjie felt humiliated. Why did it turn out this way? Why was this happening to her?

Zhao Zhongshuo muttered to himself, spewing filthy words that were utterly unbearable to hear.

Now he was savoring the taste, and with Huang Hongwei not returning tonight, it was truly a great opportunity.

So this night was a nightmare for Kong Mengjie.

In the morning, Zhao Zhongshuo left looking pleased.

Kong Mengjie rose trembling, hurriedly put on her clothes, and sat blankly on the kang. Suddenly, she burst into tears, wondering what she should do next?

Suddenly, she thought about calling the police, but when she stood up, she dejectedly sat back down again.

How could she live in this world afterward?

She wiped her tears, pulled off the bedsheets, and, enduring her physical discomfort, hurriedly cleaned them.

Then she tidied up the house and went to work feeling anxious.

Zhao Zhongshuo didn’t make any special moves, and in the evening, Kong Mengjie didn’t eat, hurrying home instead.

When she got home, she saw Huang Hongwei, along with their daughter, cooking.

”Mengjie, I brought back an old hen for you to stew and eat.”

Upon hearing her husband’s words, Kong Mengjie felt extremely aggrieved, but she dared not speak about it.

Tiantian tugged at Kong Mengjie’s hand, ”Mommy, Mommy, Grandma brought back lots of goodies for us.”

”Okay, save them for Tiantian to eat.”

”Mommy, I also want to go to Grandma’s house. Daddy, can you take me next Saturday?”

”Okay, I’ll take Tiantian.”

At night, the family of three ate chicken meat. Although it was an old hen, and the meat was tough, its taste was good, but Kong Mengjie couldn’t savor the food.

That night, she refused her husband’s intimacy. Several days later, Kong Mengjie was on edge, but Zhao Zhongshuo showed no special behavior, so she gradually relaxed.

Because the National Day was approaching, the factory was hosting a party, and awards for the model worker were being given.

Of course, Kong Mengjie and Huang Hongwei were not selected, but one day, their team leader was taken away. The next day, Huang Hongwei held a meeting with everyone to elect a new team leader.

In fact, there were five people eligible for team leader in their group, and, given the chance, everyone was eager to compete.

Because the decision was by a show of hands at that time, they had no chance to campaign.

Just then, Zhao Zhongshuo stood up, ”I propose Kong Mengjie. She is the most educated, and she works diligently, treating colleagues with warmth like spring.”

Their relationship was widely known, but things had faded over time. When Ali Tong was mentioned by Zhao Zhongshuo, everyone still found it bizarre.

Kong Mengjie lowered her head, feeling very scared. What exactly did Zhao Zhongshuo intend?

His proposal was in line with Huang Hongwei’s intentions, who immediately went along with it.

Unexpectedly, Kong Mengjie was elected, albeit narrowly by one vote.

Thus, after four years of work, Kong Mengjie became the team leader.

She was a bit incredulous; fundamentally, she was a driven and ambitious woman, so given the opportunity, she was certainly willing.

At the National Day party, she also received the title of model worker.

This made her forget the events that had happened to her, allowing her to focus more on her work.

A month passed, Tiantian constantly asking Huang Hongwei to take her back to her hometown. Eventually, Dad could not resist his daughter’s insistence and agreed to return home early on Saturday.

He mentioned his vacation request at the meeting, and when the office was left with just Huang Hongwei, a middle-aged man whispered a few words to him, but Huang Hongwei was skeptical and the seeds of doubt were sown in his heart.

Saturday morning, he took their daughter back to his hometown by bicycle.

Kong Mengjie noticed Zhao Zhongshuo looking at her oddly at noon.

She was very scared and spent the whole afternoon distracted.

After work, she dared not eat and literally ran out of the factory, leaving many curious people asking if something had happened.

Kong Mengjie shook her head and brushed it off.

She took a breath only after returning home. Now, with the nights already somewhat cold, she was due for her period in a few days. So she lit a fire, and could cook for herself.

Boiled a pot of water for bathing, and mixed some cornmeal with the leftover water, leaving it over the fire. After bathing, she could eat porridge.

After washing up and drinking her porridge, she heard a knock at the door, scared her into silence, refusing to open the door.

After waiting for a while, it was finally quiet, and she was quite exhausted for the day, so she covered up and lay down.

Just as she was about to fall asleep, she suddenly felt the living room door being pushed open, startling her to sit up immediately.

Zhao Zhongshuo entered with a smile, ”Mengjie, you’re avoiding me. How can you treat me like this? We’re practically husband and wife.”

”Zhao Zhongshuo, get out.”

”Mengjie, you’re still cold-hearted. I reported the team leader for you and helped you with your votes.”

”Zhao Zhongshuo, thank you. But one thing has nothing to do with the other. Leave.”

Zhao Zhongshuo wasn’t about to leave; he lay in bed every day thinking about Kong Mengjie. He chuckled and climbed onto the kang.

Just then, there was a forceful knocking from outside.

Kong Mengjie struggled to leave. But Zhao Zhongshuo was now overwhelmed by lust.

As he was pulling at Kong Mengjie’s clothes, he felt a searing pain in his head that made him fall flat.

Kong Mengjie was frightened, screamed, and quickly got up.

Seeing her husband standing on the ground, she rushed over and cried suppressedly, ”I was terrified, scared to death. Thank goodness you came back.”
