Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Due to the existence of the Ancient Contract, the giants will not interfere excessively in the history of this world unless absolutely necessary. More often, they observe and record the changes and developments of the world from an observer’s perspective.

In fact, the Dragon God Evaluation Country has intervened in history only a handful of times.

Even during the Dark Age when the Goblin Emperor was born, they mostly just watched without directly intervening.

That’s why the Curse Sect dared to act openly against Yang Yu under their very noses.

Perhaps, in the eyes of the giants, the Curse Sect is just a speck of dust in human history, and the so-called demon summoning is just child’s play, not worth mentioning.

Most clear-headed people in the Curse Sect know exactly what demons are.

They also know the enormous cost of awakening a demon.

Whether a demon can truly defeat the goddess or surpass the giants, no one knows.

But they believe it so fervently.

They are willing to believe and fight for it their whole lives.

But demons are ultimately despised by the world. If the summoning of a real demon were to be exposed to the world, the Curse Sect would undoubtedly face condemnation from all people.

Until now, whenever necessary, the Curse Sect rarely steps into the forefront to reveal or declare their true purpose to others.

Due to some unknown mistake, the Curse Sect’s hunt of the Holy Maidens caused an uproar in the Luo Ze Empire.

If possible, the Seven Great Disciples of the Curse Sect would rather not reveal their true faces to others.

The longer this battle drags on, the greater the chance their whereabouts will be discovered.

Their whereabouts, in particular, must not be exposed to the enraged followers of the Goddess Sect.

To avoid exposure, the Minstrel emerged from the forest, using telepathy to communicate with the struggling Moli and [Modesty].

”There’s no choice, [Modesty] should go ahead. There’s a risk of being discovered, but the longer the stalemate continues, the higher the chance of being discovered.”

[Modesty] kept throwing fireballs at Yang Yu and asked the Minstrel again: ”Should we really do it? This could affect you.”

The Minstrel strummed the piano strings and laughed: ”No problem, I have a way. We should now use all our strength to completely eliminate this person. Even if we take a little damage, it’s within acceptable range.”

[Modesty] said expressionlessly: ”Then please delay them.”

The Minstrel and Moli responded in unison: ”Leave it to me.”

Before carrying out the task, Moli had thoroughly investigated Yang Yu, knowing that he was a warrior similar to her, primarily focused on outstanding defense and speed.

But Yang Yu’s skills were superior, a step faster than hers.

In a one-on-one situation, Moli felt she could likely be held up by him alone.

Therefore, at first, they let [Modesty] execute the plan to see whether they could lower Yang Yu’s guard and make it easier to take him down.

Even if they failed, the more experienced [Modesty] was more suited to face Yang Yu than she was.

Unfortunately, Moli did not anticipate that Yang Yu could fight to a standstill with [Modesty], and his companions were extremely difficult to deal with.

The Minstrel of the Curse Sect strummed the piano strings, formally appearing in front of Yang Yu and the others.

The Minstrel is a support profession, with extremely rare attacking skills, numerous buff and Shield skills, and an array of control skills, yet extremely hard to use.

To entangle Yang Yu, the Minstrel had to close the distance to ensure higher accuracy of his skills.

Ignoring Yang Yu’s sword blade stabbing wildly, [Modesty] gathered Magic Power in her hands. However, she did not target Yang Yu with her Flame Magic but aimed it at the ground.

”[Flame Burst]”

A large amount of flame burrowed into the ground from the Magic Array, triggering a series of explosions that hurled large chunks of rock into the air.

”Listen to my enchanting melody. [Harmonica Strumming]”

Ferociously strumming the piano strings, the Minstrel’s harp released several long ripples, transforming in the air into ropes that moved, binding Yang Yu from all directions.

Dodging the piano strings and debris, Yang Yu searched through the rising smoke to find the silhouette of [Modesty].

In the dust and flame, a figure slowly ascended, leaving the ground.

”Could she be trying to fly high up, using super large magic to engulf us?”

Realizing [Modesty]’s intention, Yang Yu suddenly accelerated, pulling out a throwable item from the System, and hurled it at [Modesty] with all his might, like pitching a baseball.

The initial stage of [Dancing in the Air] is slow, requiring some time to ascend. This was the last chance.

However, in the air, [Modesty] was exceptionally agile, effortlessly avoiding several of Yang Yu’s throws.

The Minstrel, emerging from the forest, wasn’t idle, continuously releasing control skills and attacks, disrupting Yang Yu’s offensive.

”Mu Jin, Yellow Flower, attack the person in the sky! Concentrate the firepower, bring down that person in the sky quickly, I’ll block that woman’s attacks.”

Yang Yu performed a [Protective Assistance Charge] back to He Meng’s side, blocking Moli’s giant sword with his own.

An indescribable heaviness assaulted Yang Yu.

The Curse Disciple’s Moli and the Minstrel, their Levels all exceeded one hundred twenty, Moli’s average attributes surpassed two thousand, with Defense, Speed, and Strength being especially prominent.

Even clad in heavy armor, Chaste Jasmine was still very nimble.

This kind of heavy armor warrior was the hardest for Yang Yu to deal with; he needed to rely on Bai Jin and Iyas to inflict damage.

But now, Bai Jin and Iyas had to focus their attention on the airborne [Modesty].

Only by dealing with the airborne [Modesty] could they have a hope of survival.

Bai Jin wobbled and stood up from Lotcar’s back, trying to use the still undeveloped Dancing in the Air skill to ascend to the sky and stop [Modesty] from unleashing a super large magic.

The minstrel played a cheerful tune, forming several chains that coiled around the nearby light pillars, binding Bai Jin, Iyas, and Lotcar from all directions, sealing their movements.

This disciple named [Praising Breeze] possessed intelligence exceeding 3000; each supportive skill was released with precision, not to be underestimated.

Yang Yu’s mind spun rapidly, thinking of a way to break the impasse.

But before Yang Yu could come up with a good strategy, countless magic arrays blossomed in [Modesty]’s hands, continuously absorbing magic power from the air to create a super large magic.

There was no other choice; Bai Jin could only chant magic as before, trying to compete for the magic power in the air and reduce the power of the super large magic.

[Praising Breeze] was an incredibly strong support; how could she give Bai Jin the chance to absorb magic power? A single [Magic Interference Poem] easily interrupted Bai Jin’s chanting magic, sending the magic power back to the surroundings.

Iyas released Holy Light to break the chains on his body, and with a Light Arrow in his hand, he aimed at the skyborne [Modesty] and swiftly released it.

[Modesty] flew a few meters higher in the sky, easily dodging Iyas’s Light Arrow.

Countless magic gathered in [Modesty]’s palm, slowly forming into the shape of petals.

The current scene was exactly the same as the one Bai Jin had seen that day in Luoyu City.

Back then there was no capability to stop it, and now there was still no way to stop it. If there was more strength, perhaps they could break free from the chains like Iyas.

Seeing the surrounding magic power increasingly dissipate, Bai Jin once again tried to break free of the chains, but to no avail.

Yang Yu took a deep breath, released his defense, allowing Jasmine’s attack to land on him several times continuously, pushing his blood volume to the extreme.

Yang Yu’s blood volume fell below three thousand, triggering the passive title [Unyielding to Despair].

Now was theoretically Yang Yu’s strongest period, but also his weakest, vulnerable like glass.

It was still unclear what other skills the minstrel had; attacking now, Yang Yu could think of five skills that could seal him.

He absolutely couldn’t take risks; as long as there are green hills, there’s no worry about firewood...

Using the suddenly strengthened three successive slashes to repel Jasmine, Yang Yu launched a feint attack, retreated immediately to Bai Jin and the others, and used his sword to cut the magic ropes binding them, then sat on Lotcar’s back.

”Use every skill that can speed up, leave here quickly, escape, heading northwest all the way!”

Using simple words to communicate with his partners, Yang Yu found the weak points in the light pillars, broke two light pillars, and commanded Lotcar to quickly turn around and run into the forest.

If the opponent made just a little more mistake, as long as they caught that little mistake, they could find a way to turn the tide of the battle.

Unfortunately, the opponent was also battle-hardened, and easy strategies simply didn’t exist.

Perhaps choosing to battle with the disciples of the Curse Sect from the start was a mistake.

Maybe things had been too smooth recently, leading to the belief that facing opponents slightly stronger would also be won easily.

People like Heroic Warrior Volcrix with high attributes but poor skills were actually rare in this world.

Everyone had climbed to the top step by step, treading on countless bodies.

When facing cadre-level opponents, especially those with super high attributes and level, one should be more cautious.

To perfectly defeat the Curse Disciples in front of them, the current skill set and team coordination were far from enough.

They must acquire some stronger skills.

Even if the opponents had no flaws, they had to make them show flaws.

Yang Yu placed all of Lotcar’s remaining attribute points into speed in one breath.

With the speed bonus from [Old Driver], coupled with Bai Jin’s [Lightweight] support, Lotcar’s speed far surpassed imagination, and in the blink of an eye, they dashed kilometers away.

”Trying to escape? Futile efforts.

One must know the range of super large magic is beyond imagination.

No matter how you run, there’s no avoiding the searing flames.”

Carrying the giant sword, Jasmine said that, but her actions were completely different, not staying in place, but moving quickly along the traces left by Yang Yu and the others, following along.

In the air, [Modesty] could see all of Lotcar’s movements, adjusted the direction of the magic, and still aimed at Yang Yu and his team.

Noticing Yang Yu and the others running towards a river, [Modesty] chuckled:

”This is super large magic, how could a small river withstand the powerful force of this magic?

Such a river would likely start boiling in an instant.

Don’t expect that kind of river to save your lives.”
