Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The Mud Giants’ attacks on each other could still inflict damage. By taking advantage of this, one could greatly reduce Bai Jin’s offensive pressure.

Yang Yu, with high skills and great courage, used ”Climbing” to move among the Mud Giants.

He intentionally left a small opening, waiting for the Mud Giants to strike, allowing several of their clubs to hit the victim he had chosen simultaneously.

The first time, Yang Yu reaped significant results.

The Mud Giant Yang Yu had just been on cracked open under the attack of several other Mud Giants, with terrifying cracks appearing all over its body.

These Mud Giants’ attacks instantly took away nearly one-third of the blood volume of their attacked peer.

Meanwhile, Yang Yu had already escaped, jumping onto the body of another Mud Giant and firmly rooting himself using the skill ”Climbing.”

”It seems I’ve found a pretty good strategy. This skill is more useful than I imagined.”

The ”Climbing” skill allowed one to move on walls and ceilings, but it required a significant amount of mana.

Ordinary people, if they learned it, could at most flip over walls, and those walls had to be not very tall.

As a byproduct of fostering multi-point endurance, Yang Yu’s mana was almost inexhaustible.

But Yang Yu didn’t squander his mana just because he had a lot. The mana cost of ”Climbing” was calculated based on the number of steps moved and the duration spent on a single plane.

Every time Yang Yu used ”Climbing,” he made sure he wouldn’t stumble, always taking long strides.

When encountering a slope, Yang Yu would first step on it, and only if he felt unstable would he use ”Climbing” to steady himself.

With such a tactic, Yang Yu didn’t have to worry about running out of mana.

Yang Yu began to move unscrupulously among the Mud Giants, luring the ones following him to swing their heavy clubs, inflicting ”friendly fire” damage and creating terrifying cracks.

The battle didn’t last very long.

Gathering the monsters, Bai Jin called upon the area magic he had learned. With Lotcar’s help, he became a mobile artillery unit, dealing with nearly forty Mud Giants in one go.

And Yang Yu alone distracted about twenty Mud Giants.

Taking advantage of the characteristic that Mud Giants could harm each other, he continually created ”own goals,” reducing the Mud Giants’ blood volume, waiting for Bai Jin to be able to spare a hand to easily wipe them out at once.

After dealing with one batch, Yang Yu and the others did the same, successively taking care of the remnants of the Mud Giants.

When only the last Mud Giant remained, Yang Yu deliberately left it alive, inflicting certain damage before running to a spot the Mud Giant could never hit, letting the team rest together for a while.

After confirming that his partners had somewhat recovered, Yang Yu climbed onto the Mud Giant’s head and pierced its skull with his sword.

The huge Mud Giant finally couldn’t bear the torment, no longer having any magic power to control its collapse.

It crumbled like a mountain, turning into ruins.

The ”ruins” lasted for quite a while, and then turned into specks of light that fell into the deep sky of the Ninth Floor, leaving only a land of precious treasures.

”Huff—”

Yang Yu let out a long sigh, but didn’t put away his sword blade, instead walking straight towards his companions,

”How do you feel? Although I’d really like to let you rest a bit more, this place obviously isn’t a good spot for that.

We’ve just cleared the regular monsters on the Ninth Floor, and the Maze Guardian should appear soon.

We don’t know yet what kind of monster it will be. How about drinking some Recovery Potions to regain some stamina first?”

”If we need to restore stamina... I have a skill I want to try... My status has been good lately, and I feel like this skill will work today.”

As Iyas spoke, a ray of Holy Light emanated from her feet.

But before Iyas could use the skill she had just recently learned, a deep red Magic Array rapidly expanded beneath Yang Yu and the others’ feet.

In the blink of an eye, it was as large as a soccer field.

Yang Yu, unsure of the Magic Array’s purpose, performed a ”Support Charge” to arrive in front of Bai Jin and the others, quickly carrying them onto Lotcar’s back, swiftly distancing themselves from this enormous Magic Array.

”What in the world is going on?”

It was a rare opportunity to demonstrate her progress to Yang Yu once more, yet this maze truly afforded no respite for breath.

Seriously, had I known, I would have used it straight away—it was my own slight vanity at work.

No, it’s not too late to use it now.

After Lotcar had slowed down and started observing the glowing Magic Array from distance, Iyas clasped her hands, closed her eyes,

”O great goddess, please bestow upon us your healing rain to relieve my fatigue.”

A pure light unfolded from the sky, transforming into a pale golden curtain, as a drizzle of golden rain began to fall.

This golden rain landed on Lotcar and the others, healing their wounds, restoring their stamina, and dispelling their fatigue for each one of them.

Amidst this gentle downpour, Bai Jin, clutching her Magic Wand, grasped the corner of Yang Yu’s garment.

”Mm.

It must not be mistaken, this is ’Summoning Magic.’

It’s constructed using Teleportation Magic and Contract Magic.

Such formidable Summoning Magic, what exactly is it summoning...”

As soon as Bai Jin’s words fell, four towering stone statues slowly rose from the Magic Array.

These four statues, each with a different posture, had ferocious green faces and fangs, resembling ghosts and gods from myths, imposing yet motionless within the Magic Array.

Opening the panel to inspect the four sculptures in front of him, Yang Yu’s panel was empty, revealing no attributes for the stone statues.

Suddenly, a figure dropped from the deep sky, landing steadily atop one of the sculptures.

”Hahaha! Who would have thought that you would pass the Ninth Floor so quickly? It’s truly impressive!”

Yang Yu recognized this voice; it was the same one they had heard on the first floor.

The man on top of the statue, undoubtedly, was the Maze Guardian.

”Now comes the main event. Your presence here means that your foundational strength has reached the standard.”

A bald young man dressed in animal-skin clothing leaped down from the top of the sculpture.

In the dim light, he walked step by step towards Yang Yu.

As the bald youth approached, the man’s attribute values became clear in Yang Yu’s eyes.
