Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Under the stunned gazes of everyone, Yang Yu and his companions crossed the snow-covered first floor without bending down to pick up any dropped loot.

The adventurers following Yang Yu picked up money from the ground without doing much and their favorability towards Yang Yu slightly increased.

By the second and third floors, Yang Yu duplicated this approach, dispatching monsters alongside his companions in time, eradicating all the weaker monsters of the first three floors.

When they reached the fourth floor, the monsters’ blood volume suddenly increased exponentially, and dealing with them solely by Yang Yu and his companions was very time-consuming.

At this point, the adventurers following Yang Yu gradually began to come in handy.

The assembled one hundred fifty-person adventurer group applied their knowledge from adventuring, restraining the monsters one by one, and continuously depleting their blood volume.

Yang Yu led the team to roam around, delivering finishing blows, and quickly subdued the fourth floor’s monsters.

Just as they had agreed, Yang Yu and his party didn’t take the loot dropped by those monsters.

So, even if some teams exploded with piles of Gold Coin, it had nothing to do with Yang Yu.

After conquering the fourth floor, the fifth floor began to pose some trouble.

The monsters on the fifth floor were already beyond level sixty.

Their attributes were overwhelmingly strong, with strength far exceeding the other attributes.

This floor even had quite a few monsters with strength over one thousand.

The monsters on this floor were also far from peaceful, with many not waiting to be attacked and instead launching assaults on the Tamers.

The walls that originally served to divide the areas on this floor gradually became ruins under the monsters’ assaults.

Immediately, Yang Yu organized the team and adventurers to contain the situation, and it took half a day to deal with the rampant monsters, leaving behind only those that wouldn’t actively attack people.

Most B-level adventurers stopped here, as the strength of the fifth floor’s monsters was already at their limit.

Confident A-level adventurers, after helping Yang Yu clear a path, went on to the sixth tier.

Starting from the sixth layer, the variety of monster species dramatically decreased, leaving only three kinds.

After spending some time to figure out how to conquer these three different monsters, Yang Yu generously shared these strategies with the other A-level adventurers with no conditions.

Those A-level adventurers tried Yang Yu’s methods and, indeed, they proved effective, so in a quid pro quo, as per the agreement, they cleared the path for Yang Yu to the seventh tier.

Afterwards, many A-level adventurers stayed on the sixth floor.

The monsters there were enough for them to fight for several days, so there was no need to venture deeper.

Stepping into the seventh floor of the Underground Maze, Yang Yu surveyed the monsters within.

At this point, the only visible type of monster was one kind.

It was a robust gorilla-shaped monster, with two long tusks reaching up to the ceiling.

These gorillas, too, were monstrously strong, with exceptionally substantial blood volume.

Passing one hundred level, each level up for Yang Yu was a significant boost.

Unknowingly, Yang Yu’s blood volume had already surpassed thirty thousand.

But compared to the monsters of the seventh floor, he was still minor, as those apes had a blood volume of well over two hundred thousand.

The colossal blood volume greatly increased the monsters’ margin for error to a certain extent.

Opening the System, before formally starting the strategy, Yang Yu took out food and water, allowing his companions to eat their fill and rest for a while.

Afterward, Yang Yu brought up the previously undecided options again and selected ”Blazing Blood”, a passive ability that grows stronger as battle goes on.

Although the other options were also very tempting, considering the need to fight against the Demon King Army, facing many enemies with few allies and long battles becoming the norm, the sustained attribute increase from ”Blazing Blood” was not a bad deal.

After resting, Yang Yu reiterated the points of caution to Bai Jin and the others, then he officially entered the Seventh Floor and started provoking the monsters.

In general PVE content, wild monsters follow a fixed AI program’s guidance.

Since it’s AI, it has its limitations, and its attack patterns are also extremely predictable.

Yang Yu was the first to charge over alone, using his agile movements to confirm the monsters’ skills and attack patterns on this floor.

Bai Jin and Iyas stood at the entrance of the layer, pouring magic and arrows into the nearest monsters.

Despite being monsters that would drop equipment when beaten, when these monsters were defeated, they still emitted wails like real creatures before disappearing.

Such mournful wailing often ensnares some adventurers.

If the people of ”Baihua Binfen” could get through the Seventh Floor, there was no reason that Yang Yu and his group couldn’t.

When the monsters were beaten to low health, Yang Yu always instructed Iyas to execute them efficiently.

Even the Maze Guardian guarding the entrance to the Eighth Floor was no match for Yang Yu.

It was a giant ape-like guardian standing three meters tall; apart from having thick skin and flesh, it wasn’t tough to beat, even a bit too easy.

Although the ape guardian would use a range of powerful punches, the blasts of wind from its fists were all straight shots that didn’t turn.

”Hall of Power”, as the name implies, should be a hall to test strength.

However, Yang Yu thought that if it were a test of strength, they should just have a bunch of Iron Turtles here—without strength, you couldn’t even hurt them, which would better select those fitting the theme of strength.

In the face of an opponent far stronger than himself, would there really be hot-headed fools who would try to match them fist for fist, measuring strength?

Using skilled techniques and cooperation, Yang Yu and his team spent nearly half a day successfully breaking through the Seventh Floor’s Maze Guardian.

Turning into an ethereal form, Gold Coins from the inside of the Maze Guardian ”Bam” scattered on the ground.

Following the coins, some equipment also fell, all of Rare Quality. Yang Yu immediately took a liking to a nice sword and a square shield, supplementing his own armory.

Apart from the coins and equipment, Yang Yu also noticed a few pages of a book, slowly drifting down.

Upon closer examination of the book, he could see the page numbers in the corners, but he couldn’t understand the text at all.

From the page numbers, it appeared to be a volume of at least two hundred pages.

But taking down a Maze Guardian only yielded three pages; to collect at least a two hundred-page volume, they would need to defeat at least seventy Maze Guardians, and that’s not even considering duplicates.

However... such pages, once collected, would certainly reveal some Hidden Task or important hidden information.

Seeing the Task that had popped up, Yang Yu took out a box, placed the pages inside it, and then stored it in the System.

Xin Mang hadn’t mentioned anything strange dropping after her victory over the guardians, but she didn’t need to divulge her spoils either.

Next time they met, or maybe he should ask others who had conquered Lux’s Underground Maze.

Yang Yu had not encountered such situations before.

After all, he had not yet successfully completed from start to end this type of maze that tested pure strength.
