Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

[Legendary Magic Wand Sigh Seed]

This magic wand was once the beloved possession of the Centipede Queen, one of the Ancient Demon King’s Four Heavenly Kings. After the Hero defeated the Centipede Queen, he gifted this weapon to the Child of the Stars, or rather, to the ”Catastrophe Witch” who had not yet used luck to exchange for Strength.

Basic Intelligence +300, Intelligence +10%, Area Damage +10%, the added attributes are extremely good.

However, the hint that followed was somewhat chilling.

——Equipment Requirement: Intelligence over 2000 (Note: There seems to be something strange within this wand, if your intelligence isn’t enough, it’s very likely that the thing lying dormant will completely devour you)

Unlocked Status: Not unlocked

What Bai Jin saw may not have been a lie, and this magic wand also seemed not to have shown its true power.

Yang Yu decided to be cautious.

In case there really was something inside the wand, and Bai Jin couldn’t tame it, he’d be ready to take the wand from her by force if necessary, to ensure it was sealed away forever.

Raising the magic wand, Bai Jin tested a few magic spells in front of her.

She could feel that this wand was much more powerful than the one her father had left her.

Carefully putting away her father’s wand, Bai Jin told Yang Yu that she was fine.

Taking out several potions and distributing them among his companions, Yang Yu and his group mounted Lotcar and began their assault on the Ninth Floor.

Emerging from the passage to the Ninth Floor, Yang Yu became increasingly aware of its vastness, which was even larger than any other floor they had previously conquered.

There were no walls around the stairway they had come through, standing like Doraemon’s ”Anywhere Door” on a ground littered with black stones.

Moving away from the stairway, Yang Yu instructed Lotcar to run a full circle along the visible borders of the area.

While calculating how many Mud Giants were on the Ninth Tier and the distance between each, Yang Yu also observed whether the Mud Giants, when attacking each other, would cause harm to each other as seen on the first floor.

Even if part of the same team, teammates would still get hurt if they attacked each other; being teammates did not reduce the damage.

However, magic in this world was an exception, as the vast majority of area magic spells could distinguish between friend and foe, and the few that couldn’t were in the minority.

Moreover, magic that did not differentiate between friend and foe was usually more powerful and also more difficult to control.

This place was the Hall of Power.

From what Scarjade, the large cat, had suggested, the maze monsters seemed to be born out of magic simulation.

Since they were born of magic, the maze monsters should be able to recognize each other, yet they fought amongst themselves anyway.

Was it on purpose to show the Tamers?

After observing for a while, Yang Yu suddenly discovered a significant problem.

The Mud Giants in the mirror panels, even their moves were mirrored, completely cancelling each other’s attacks out.

Yang Yu pointed to the nearest pair of Mud Giants,

”Bai Jin, try attacking the hand grasping the club of the giant on the right, to make his movement a bit slower than the one on the left.”

Lifting the newly acquired magic wand, Bai Jin aimed at the fighting Mud Giant on the right and released an Ice Spear, striking its arm.

The movements of the giant on the right slowed for a moment, and the giant on the left landed a club on the right giant’s shoulder.

The right giant’s Blood Volume immediately decreased by four thousand points, an attack that should have only dealt two thousand points of damage somehow inflicted four thousand.

Both giants resumed their stances, and after five or six minutes, they began fighting with the same movements once again.

No attack came their way.

Xin Mang had mentioned that a Wild Warrior had broken several ribs but had only brought down one or two...

Was it true?

This time, Yang Yu had Bai Jin pour magic into the giant on the left, and when the giant on the right brought down its club, the left giant lost four thousand blood.

The struck giant, after a few minutes, stood up as if nothing had happened, readjusted its posture, and the two giants ignored Yang Yu and resumed their battle.

Yang Yu left and right, having Bai Jin attack the two giants.

Each time the two giants lost blood, they took even longer to regroup, yet they still showed no intention of attacking.

In the end, both giants fell before Yang Yu, leaving behind some Gold Coins and a few pieces of Equipment.

Looking around, the other giants seemed indifferent to what was happening here.

Could this entire floor be just a benefit?

No.

Yang Yu immediately dismissed the idea and, recalling the monsters fighting each other on the first floor, looked around again to make sure of the number of creatures.

”What a perverse taste.”

Yang Yu sighed deeply; Iyas and Bai Jin looked at him, not understanding why he had heaved such a sigh.

”Grand General, have you noticed something?

These monsters ignore us, and it’s quite unsettling.”

Iyas readied her bow, alert to the other giants who, however, continued to ignore her, each fighting in pairs.

Yang Yu gave a wry smile, ”It’s called the Hall of Power, but what’s really being tested is patience.

Unfortunately, we don’t have that much time to waste.

We just took a good look around and didn’t find anything that could pass as a Maze Guardian.

Eight or nine out of ten, we need to clean out all the creatures here before the so-called Maze Guardian will appear.

Iyas, with those hints, can you figure it out?”

Iyas asked, ”What hints?”

”The battle of the monsters on the first floor and if it was so easy to defeat these pairs of Mud Giants, why would that S-class adventure group go to such great lengths?”

Yang Yu smiled, and after reflecting for a moment, Lotcar’s smile emerged,

”I get it now, it’s a temptation.”

”Temptation?”

Iyas frowned, thought for a while, then suddenly, a light bulb went off in her head, and with a very uncertain tone, she said,

”Is it that if we attack them one by one, these strange Mud Giants will start attacking us?”

”Exactly.”

Yang Yu laughed,

”Take a good look at the distribution of these giants around us.

There are several giants on the other side of the entrance.

If they attack us from there, the door will inevitably be trampled by the giants.

And we would lose our means of escape, forced to fight these giants to the finish.

That’s why I call it perverse taste.

The [Wild Warrior] fell for the temptation.

They attacked several giants at once, trying to save time strategizing.

As a result, they ended up being chased by the giants and, at the cost of a few broken ribs, managed to escape before the door closed.

If I’m not wrong, they will definitely come back here.

Learning from their previous lesson, they have become more patient this time.

We don’t have time to mess with these groups of creatures, nor to wait for that adventure group to arrive.”
