Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Saying goodbye to Dongmu, Yang Yu and his group headed straight toward the Southwest Region.

Relying on Lotcar’s current pace, as well as the Old Driver title Yang Yu had just acquired a while ago, they made swift progress.

Using the time they saved, they passed through forests filled with demons, unleashing punches and kicks on the creatures inside, generously topping up their Experience Value.

Unfortunately, leveling up now required one million Experience.

Even with Yang Yu commanding the squad to kill demons along the way, after a week, his Experience Bar had only increased by just over half, still far from reaching level 102.

Along the way, Bai Jin sensed the presence of many small underground mazes.

The underground mazes marked by Yang Yu on the map were all those with certain levels of difficulty to strategize.

The reason why he didn’t mark the smaller mazes was partly that there were an extremely large number of them, and marking every location on the map would result in a blurred mess; and partly because small mazes were too easy for adventurers to conquer, Yang Yu didn’t want to venture into one that was likely to be a wasted effort.

If they really wanted to conquer a small underground maze later, Bai Jin could find them.

The Nine-Life Cat Demon Scarjade from the Hall of Wisdom once said that underground mazes were created to be conquered.

The unbeaten underground mazes, like blooming flowers, spread an enchanting yet deadly ”fragrance,” as if beckoning to the ”hardworking” adventurers to quickly come and gather their birthed ”nectar.”

The strength of many mazes could be roughly inferred from the magic signals they emitted.

Now Bai Jin was much stronger than before, even without deliberately practicing, she could sense several small mazes consecutively along the way.

Upon hearing about small underground mazes, Yang Yu immediately abandoned the original route and, in high spirits, headed toward those small mazes.

Since his level had already surpassed one hundred, these small mazes could not provide much Experience to Yang Yu.

As for good Equipment, he might as well forget about it!

Finding two or three pieces of Rare Equipment from a small maze was already cause for gratitude.

The ones lurking in the small underground mazes were mostly rookie adventurers wanting to familiarize themselves with maze rules, or those adventurers with insufficient strength looking to try their luck.

Yang Yu naturally didn’t go for them; their Experience wasn’t even enough to fill the gaps between his teeth.

To be honest, Yang Yu was after the small mazes themselves.

It had been over a year since Yang Yu took on the ”Maze Rule Breaker” task, but he had yet to complete it.

At first, Yang Yu felt that using underground mazes to continuously improve his strength was the King’s Path plot, and he needn’t pay much attention to this task, but along the way, there was just too much Experience coming his way...

Unknowingly, he suddenly reached one hundred level, and for this, besides wanting to say ”push harder,” Yang Yu had nothing else to say.

Many high-level adventurers condescended not to bother with such small mazes, naturally also not encountering high-level adventurers.

Even if he did encounter them, Yang Yu wasn’t afraid.

To him, they were just a cluster of walking Experience Value.

In conclusion, small mazes were the most suitable for experiments, fitting to pad out the numbers for this task.

Arriving at a certain small underground maze, Yang Yu first hired a few people to pass on his message to the adventurers venturing inside - if they didn’t want to die, they should stop strategizing and come out immediately.

After the allotted time passed, Yang Yu directly made Bai Jin bring in the nearby river water to flood the underground maze.

The adventurers originally strategizing inside the underground maze, seeing the water rising, had no choice but to abandon their strategy and head back toward the maze’s exit.

The last adventurer to climb out of the maze saw the sky filled with countless black clouds, lightning zigzagging through them, frightening him enough to roll and crawl away in a hurry, leaving the underground maze far behind.

In an instant, thunder roared and black lightning poured down from the mouth of the maze into this pitiable small-scale underground city.

As the number on the task list increased by one, Yang Yu nodded in satisfaction, telling Bai Jin to stop her magic and picking up the fishing net. He scooped up the school of pale fish that had washed into the underground maze with the river, cleaned them simply, dropped them into hot oil frying them until they were golden and crispy, and sprinkled them with cumin and chili pepper, causing the adventurers next door to weep with envy.

Small-scale mazes rarely have more than five layers and are much smaller than medium and large mazes; they are also much easier to deal with.

Even though employing the same method could increase the numbers on the task list, Yang Yu still varied his strategies for conquering these small mazes.

For example, he would directly hire a few robust adventurers, bypassing all levels, digging a tunnel to the last layer, shouting ”For Demacia,” and ambushing the maze boss.

Or, when Yang Yu reached the last layer, he would pull out a bunch of clay and pour it in, first trapping the boss in the mud, then he’d have Bai Jin carefully cast Flame Magic to bake a mold of the boss.

Anyway, Yang Yu tried all the unique strategies he could think of to conquer the mazes.

One by one, the mazes were left in complete disarray by Yang Yu’s antics, none keeping their proper form.

These mazes were about ready to call the police.

The progress of the task [”Conqueror Unbound by Rules”] was soaring rapidly.

Of course, such unconventional strategies would inevitably bring plenty of trouble.

Feeling their own interests violated, a number of C-level, B-level, and Quasi-A Level adventurers joined forces, even spending their savings to hire actual A-level adventurers, aiming to teach Yang Yu and his team a lesson.

But these Beastmen, they were all singlehandedly defeated by Yang Yu and his team.

Upon witnessing Yang Yu’s strength, the A-level adventurer immediately returned the money to those who hired him.

MD, are you guys out of your minds?

This kind of strength, at the very least, is that of a Quasi-S Class adventurer, perhaps even touching the threshold of S-class...

Such a man was meant to farm wherever he pleases. What does it matter to you if he farms small-scale mazes? It’s not like you own the underground maze.

As he spoke, the hired A-level adventurer felt Yang Yu seemed somewhat familiar.

Ah, isn’t this the ”Colorful-haired Masked Man” widely talked about in both Wansheng Country and the Luoze Empire?

So, he had appeared here.

Can’t mess with him, can’t mess with him. Time to slip away, slip away.

The A-level adventurer wanted to leave, but the next moment, Yang Yu blocked his way.

Since you’re here, leave behind your Experience Value first.

Just like that, after casually teaching a lesson to those who wanted to hinder his conquest of the underground city, Yang Yu successfully completed this task that had been pending for over a year.
