Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Time flew by, turning the scorching summer into cool autumn.

Yang Yu led his squad, and it had been over a year since they arrived in Wansheng Country.

In that year, Yang Yu and his team leveled up as if riding on a rocket, with their Experience Value skyrocketing.

Indeed, intervening in the war between two countries was a wise choice.

The battlefield was the most legitimate place to indiscriminately thrash others.

On the vast battlefield, they could not only obtain the enemy’s Experience, but also make use of various training excuses to gain a lot of Experience from their own side—truly a leveling paradise.

Of course, there were problems too.

And that was, Yang Yu accidentally trained his Level too high, accidentally revealed his true strength, accidentally became too famous...

As the war progressed, Yang Yu found that as soon as the enemy realized he was leading the team, they would turn tail and run before the fight even began, tactically retreating.

Yang Yu tried rushing in alone, but the retreating Luo Ze’s troops didn’t even counterattack; they simply defended while retreating.

Fearing an ambush, Yang Yu didn’t dare to chase too deeply on his own.

Not wanting to squander his advantage, Yang Yu was now playing it safe.

But encountering Luo Ze Empire’s soldiers who would run away at the sight of him was a huge problem.

This directly meant cutting off Yang Yu’s steady supply of Experience.

After some thought, Yang Yu made a decision.

Since the moving troops of Luo Ze, upon spotting him, scattered like rats before a cat, he’d just target Luo Ze’s less mobile troops and attack them.

Thus, Yang Yu targeted Luo Ze’s troops that occupied one city after another.

However, every time Yang Yu eagerly went to attack a city, the city he wanted to conquer would enact a decoy strategy.

Yang Yu would sneak in over the wall to find only a few dozen weak guards within; upon seeing Yang Yu, they raised the white flag, declaring their defeat.

The Experience from those left-behind soldiers wasn’t even enough for Yang Yu to pick his teeth with.

Only then did Yang Yu finally feel regret.

Damn it, it seems I’ve shown off my strength a bit too much. No one dares to take me head-on anymore.

When such a formidable character appears on the battlefield, shouldn’t they eradicate them at all costs?

Your evasion tactics make me, who’s always thinking about how to handle emergencies, look like a fool...

Had I known, I would have only appeared a little stronger than before, struggling in a fierce battle, covered in blood, and then defeating the opponent with great difficulty. Then maybe the enemy would have seen a glimmer of hope to take me down and put in a serious effort.

By then, hundreds and thousands of Luo Ze soldiers would still come to deliver Experience, pushing my Level even higher.

But now, it’s too late for any regrets.

Like playing a game, when the power of both teams is evenly matched, it keeps both sides engaged and addicted to the same game.

If one side consistently crushes the other, and the latter can’t find even the slightest chance to fight back, the other side will likely abandon the game altogether.

So, it’s sometimes necessary to lose a few games on purpose to maintain a friendly rivalry and have an opponent to play against.

But, sorry.

That’s not Yang Yu’s strength.

In games, Yang Yu has always been the kind who goes all out even when he knows the opponent is an easy mark.

This is one of the reasons why Yang Yu plays more single-player games.

Since Yang Yu could no longer get the Experience he needed from Luo Ze Empire’s Army, he had no choice but to gain Experience Value from allied forces.

Leading his team hither and thither, Yang Yu scared away one after another Luo Ze Army fighting on the border with the Beastman Army. Afterward, Yang Yu launched a series of lectures and practical exercises for the other Beastman troops.

Yang Yu occasionally advised the generals of various armies, offered tactical ideas, and got on well with them.

Eventually, Yang Yu had spent half a summer and half an autumn harvesting all the available Experience from the defense line.

In the prolonged battle, the attribute value of Yang Yu and his companions naturally rose as well.

After a long wait, the Task of Making Antidote that Yang Yu got from the Wanzhang Lion was finally complete.

The collection of toxins was done by Yang Yu, while the rest of the tasks were entirely undertaken by others.

This still counted as completing the Task.

After leveling up past 120, the Experience needed to grow another level had increased from 1 million to 1.5 million.

Standing beside the damaged boundary stone at the border of Wansheng Country and the Luo Ze Empire, standing atop the towering mountains, Yang Yu equipped weapons of Epic Level.

Then, Yang Yu tapped three times in quick succession on his Attribute panel, causing a more detailed attribute chart to appear in front of him.

Yang Yu seldom checked this detailed inner attribute chart.

Firstly, the content of this inner attribute chart was extremely complex, covering detailed attribute settings like various attribute attack bonuses, Blast Damage, Critical Strike Chance, Life Recovery Speed, Magic Recovery Speed, and so forth.

It also included attribute changes brought about by Equipment, benefits from various titles, and gains from Passives, which took a considerable amount of time to review from start to finish.

Secondly, Yang Yu almost always remembered the bonuses he received; as long as he knew his Basic Attributes, he could instantly calculate on his own.

Yang Yu looked at this special inner attribute chart here, in this special place, because for him, who could no longer gain any Experience, the war between Wansheng Country and the Luo Ze Empire had drawn to a close.

What remained were some cleanup tasks.

Some, very important cleanup tasks.

Opening the questions previously entrusted to the giant dragon for answers, Yang Yu once again confirmed the answers to each question.

After confirming everything, Yang Yu carefully folded the paper and returned it to the System, then turned to the soldiers following behind him and asked:

”Do you guys know of any ponds nearby?”

”Huh?”
