Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The attacker was a woman with brown, lion-like ears and bulging muscles that had a healthy, wheat-colored glow, uniquely beautiful while robust.

With a claw swipe imminent, Yang Yu raised his shield.

The woman’s sharp claws collided violently with Yang Yu’s shield, issuing a heartbreakingly piercing screech.

Raising her magic wand, Bai Jin formed five Frost Ice Arrows in front of her, unleashing them at the lion-eared woman.

With a powerful leap, the lion-eared woman jumped back, evading the multiple frost arrows from Bai Jin.

Drawing her bow, a Light Arrow shimmered in Iyas’s hand before vanishing into the air with a ”swoosh.”

Twitching her ears to catch the sounds, the lion-eared woman lightly tapped the ground with the tip of her foot and took several steps back, drawing her waist sword.

”Spiral Counterattack!”

As soon as the golden arrow appeared, the lion-eared woman swung her waist sword, creating a whirlwind that shredded Iyas’s arrow into pieces.

Iyas’s Guaranteed Hit Arrow was actually dissolved.

”Huh—That was a close call, but luckily I’ve encountered that skill before.”

With the corners of her mouth slightly upturned, the lion-eared woman lifted her waist sword and aimed the blade at Yang Yu, her gaze filled with taunt.

”Come on and attack! You human adventurers!

Trying to hide your real identities is pointless.

Do you think I haven’t roamed the world of humans long enough!”

Standing his ground, Yang Yu drew his sword from the scabbard, and the lion-eared woman instantly went on guard.

The opposing group had conquered a section of the Underground Maze that she and her group had not yet mastered, which meant that this squad already had the strength of an S-rank adventure group.

Such an enemy could not be underestimated.

Glan Ache, the leader of the Wild Warriors, had initially planned to wait for A and B rank adventurers to clear out the earlier levels of the Underground Maze before leisurely cleaning up the floors that ordinary adventurers couldn’t handle.

Unbeknownst to them, when the Wild Warriors arrived, all that was left were scraps.

They raced to the staircase leading to the Ninth Floor only to find the entrance to the Ninth Floor completely destroyed.

The scene of conquering the Ninth Floor remained vivid in Glan Ache’s memory.

After they discovered the secret of the Mud Giant, to save time, Glan Ache ordered them to attack multiple giants simultaneously.

But that triggered the Maze’s mechanism, and she almost perished on the Ninth Floor along with her companions.

At first, Glan Ache believed that Yang Yu and his team must have made the same mistake and were extremely close to death.

Though she was reluctant to accept it, all she needed to do was to wait for a month and a half at home, and the Maze’s treasures would still be theirs.

However, Glan Ache had a nagging feeling of unease.

Wansheng Country had only two S-rank adventure groups, so where did a third one come from?

Suspicious, far too suspicious.

After much thought, Glan Ache decided to confirm their identities.

Glan Ache had conquered many Underground Mazes and was well aware of the teleportation sites of large mazes.

After several days of surveillance, they finally saw the light emitted by the Teleportation Array and saw the faces of the conquerors.

To be honest, when she first saw Yang Yu, Glan Ache simply couldn’t believe that he had the strength to lead his team through the Ninth Floor.

Without much thought, she charged at him, wanting to probe Yang Yu’s capabilities.

Unexpectedly, Yang Yu’s reaction time was far beyond her expectations, and the other two who launched an attack also possessed solid judgment.

His Defense was decent. Now it was time to see how his Attack would fare.

Feeling the hair on her skin stand on end, Glan Ache watched Yang Yu’s every move.

Yang Yu made a ”click” noise as he sheathed his sword once more.

”Hey!”

Glan Ache was about to question Yang Yu about why he’d sheathed his sword, when he suddenly drew it again, causing her to become instantly alert.

However, Yang Yu sheathed his sword once more.

Drawing and sheathing, Yang Yu repeated the action five times, causing Glan Ache’s nerves to tense and relax with each repetition.

Glan Ache couldn’t help but want to curse,

”Come on now, enough is enough! Are you going to fight or not?”

Yang Yu finally put the sword away for good and let out a long sigh before saying,

”Why must I fight you? You must be Miss Glan Ache, the leader of the ’Wild Warriors’, right?

I’ve heard a bit about you from Xin Mang.

But it seems you haven’t heard about me from Xin Mang!

Even though I bear the scent of a human, I am not a human, but a mixed species.”

Suddenly, a burly man burst out of the bushes, extremely excited, and said,

”Could it be, are you the one who’s been the hot topic in the country recently... the one named ’Potato Thorn’, General Potato? Ah, General Potato, I’m a fan! Wait for me, I’m going to ask for an autograph.”

A muscled hunk just peeked his head out of the bushes when another muscle-bound man pushed him back down.

Yang Yu: ”....”

Umm...

While I imagined that achieving so much would give me some fame in Wansheng Country and that I might have my own fan club, I never expected to find a fan inside the ranks of the ’Wild Warriors’—and a muscular one at that.

Damn, I had envisioned being welcomed back in triumph by adorable girls offering me garlands.

Now, with this man showing up, wouldn’t it make me afraid to ever dream of being presented with garlands?

With a tingling scalp but no other choice, Yang Yu had to swallow his pride and respond, ”Indeed, it is me.”

Putting away her sidearm, Glan Ache looked puzzled, ”You are a grand general of Wansheng Country?”

Yang Yu nodded, ”Yes, I have taken part in the winter offensive and the battles around Qinghe Volcano.”

Glan Ache was doubtful, ”Then why are you here?”

”To execute a task.” In order to quickly clear up this woman’s doubts, that’s what Yang Yu said.

Indeed, it wasn’t wrong to say so; as one of the top fighting powers in the war, lacking a handy weapon would greatly reduce combat effectiveness, and Wansheng Country was happy to see Yang Yu grow stronger.

Glan Ache asked, ”So conquering this Underground Maze is part of your task too?”

Yang Yu nodded again, ”Yes.”

”Is that so...” Glan Ache put away her sidearm, ”I’m sorry, I just wanted to see for myself the skills of someone who could conquer the Underground Maze. I didn’t mean to interfere with your mission completion.”

Glan Ache raised her hand and immediately, several muscled men emerged from the surrounding woods and gathered around her.

These muscle-bound men were all members of the ’Wild Warriors’.

After confirming that all her comrades had arrived at her side, Glan Ache’s gaze fell upon Yang Yu once more:

”I don’t know how you managed to conquer the Underground Maze, but since you were able to, you should be able to do even more on the battlefield.

I apologize to you once again, I will make an effort to learn about everything you have done for this country and look forward to all that you will do for it in the future.”

With that, Glan Ache led her troops away.
