Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The Luo Ze Empire, when it had a large number of soldiers, might have been able to exert pressure on multiple battlefronts simultaneously.

But once numbers dramatically decreased, whether it was maintaining pressure on several fronts or trying to occupy the vast expanse of Wansheng Country, it was essential to gauge one’s strength accordingly.

Once the elite troops of the Luo Ze Empire became too scattered, Wansheng Country needed only a few particularly strong forces to stabilize the situation.

It might be difficult for a single person to turn the tide of battle, but after depleting the enemy’s forces and then deploying a particularly elite unit to attack Luo Ze’s elite, it would become quite simple.

Regrettably, it was not an overnight process to bring about a situation where elites clashed.

Within Filo Ack’s troops, one could see some cavaly with subpar attributes, easily distinguished from the majority; their movements weren’t as fluid, and their coordination had certain flaws.

What was supposed to be a straightforward blitzkrieg now included some immature cavalry, which didn’t seem like Luo Ze Empire’s style.

As presumed, the Luo Ze Empire was starting to run short on manpower.

These inexperienced cavalry were likely new recruits of the Luo Ze Empire who had not completed all their training.

They had been pushed into service prematurely.

The number of new recruits wasn’t large for now, but it was certain to increase slowly over time.

By then, every combat-experienced beastman would be a sharp sword against these Luo Ze new recruits.

Ensuring the survival of these soldiers was the key to success.

Only by living did they produce results.

Despite not usually needing healers, having a medic on standby for emergencies was undoubtedly the right decision.

Cavalrymen came at him one after another. Yang Yu swayed his body, following the principle of striking the horse first when cutting down an enemy. His sharp sword blade swept across the horses.

Numerous cavalrymen were thrown off, tumbling over in a mass, but Yang Yu didn’t have time to step forward for another strike. Using the fallen horses, he built his temporary defenses, utilizing any available cover to weave his way through the cavalry swarm.

The elite cavalry, interspersed among the regulars, thought they found Yang Yu’s vulnerability and sought to restrict his movements.

However, the Yang Yu who had switched to a lighter shield was no longer the same.

The light shield granted Yang Yu extremely fluid movements, rendering the encirclement by the elite cavalry entirely ineffective.

After several rounds of futile entrapment, the elite cavalry returned without success, and two were even cut down from their mounts by Yang Yu.

The cavalry attacking Wansheng Country’s rear forces were also unable to immediately overrun Yang Yu’s troops due to a change in strategy and tactics and couldn’t use their numerical advantage.

Some cavalry intended to use their mobility to attack the flank of Yang Yu’s forces. However, Yang Yu’s troops preemptively prepared defenses.

Defensively skilled beastman soldiers stood firm on the flank, halting the Luo Ze Empire’s offense.

As his gaze shifted to Bai Jin, who released the last Lightning Arrow from her magic box, her magical attacks once again came to a halt.

Due to issues with magic power and magic mechanisms themselves, Bai Jin needed to reload magic power to continue firing Lightning Arrows in rapid succession.

After several occurrences, the Luo Ze mages picked up on this pattern, and at the moment Bai Jin’s magic ceased, they activated their magic shields, concentrating their fire on Yang Yu.

The cavalry elites surrounding Yang Yu, to avoid being caught in the magic’s effect, rapidly withdrew from his vicinity.

Confronted by the impending torrent of magic, a strange luminescence flashed across Yang Yu’s shield, and like playing table tennis, he batted away incoming single-target magic.

Occasionally faced with a few unavoidable spells, Yang Yu simply chose not to dodge and took the incoming magic head-on.

As a result, after a volley of spells, Yang Yu lost only one-third of his blood, while numerous Luo Ze soldiers, hit by the magic Yang Yu had deflected, lay on the ground, unable to rise.

The magicians of the Luo Ze Empire hadn’t expected this outcome, and they immediately shifted their targets, unleashing magic on Yang Yu’s troops and Bai Jin’s hiding spot.

However, because these Luo Ze magicians were wary of Bai Jin’s strength, they still left a portion of their number to construct more sturdy defense magic, guarding against Bai Jin’s magical attacks.

Bai Jin’s main task was to restrain the Luo Ze Empire’s magic troops.

It was an incredibly dangerous task.

But with He Meng by her side, Yang Yu didn’t have anything to worry about.

In order to have He Meng perform the role of a secondary Tank, Yang Yu had invested nearly all the stat points into Endurance and Speed.

People often say that pets mirror their owners, and Yang Yu thought the same.

At least He Meng could protect its companions just like Yang Yu, instead of being the overviewer it had been before.

It was precisely because He Meng shouldered the responsibility that Yang Yu now dared to confidently face multiple enemies alone.

With He Meng’s current attributes, ordinary soldiers found it difficult to harm it, though magic might be somewhat effective.

Facing massive numbers of soldiers, if push came to shove, He Meng could also downgrade itself, gaining a significant increase in defense for a short time.

Yang Yu truly didn’t believe that these Luo Ze soldiers had the ability to break through the defense of the Royal Slime.

Even if they were trying to scrape He Meng to death with cupping therapy, they wouldn’t know how long it would take, just like Yang Yu’s own previous experience.

emmm...

Just in case, just in case the Luo Ze soldiers had some powerful Armor Breaking Skills, pretend that last remark was never said.

But, as this was a cavalry unit, they probably didn’t possess any Armor Breaking Skills...

Probably.

As Yang Yu had anticipated, while magic fiercely flew towards Bai Jin, before she could even deploy her Shield Magic, He Meng leapt from her shoulder. Its body spread out, forming a transparent large bowl over Bai Jin’s head.

The magic of the Luo Ze Empire collided with He Meng’s body, producing waves upon its gelatinous form, yet never managing to penetrate He Meng’s defense.

Bai Jin gathered her magic power again and resumed pouring Lightning Arrows at the Luo Ze Empire’s army.

The battle was extremely intense but did not last long.

After more than half the casualties, Filo Ack was almost biting blood from his own lip.

The strength of the Colorful-haired Masked Man was beyond his imagination.

Just last winter, it was rumored that the Colorful-haired Masked Man was able to restrain a General Level individual. Yet before this summer even ended, Yang Yu could already handle a General like him...

Filo Ack couldn’t believe that this man had actually withstood the onslaught of enemies many times his own from the front.

If this man continued to grow unchecked, the consequences were unimaginable.

But the Colorful-haired Masked Man and his troops were already beyond what he could handle.

Acting against overwhelming force, who was the cart and who was the mantis?

”If I die, command goes to you. Also, if my steed survives, please take care of it for me! All this is for the glory of the Empire!”

After speaking to his deputy, Filo Ack charged fearlessly towards Yang Yu.

In the end, he was tied up by Yang Yu in a complex knot and thrown aside like trash.

And the deputy who took over command, without much consideration, surrendered.
