Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The sound of horse hooves clattered rapidly when suddenly, a golden Light Arrow appeared without warning to the front-right of Filo Ack.

By the time Filo Ack noticed and tried to raise his hand to block the Light Arrow, it was already a step too late.

The golden Light Arrow pierced through Filo Ack’s chest in an instant, grazing his heart and carrying his blood, it continued to shoot through several of Luo Ze’s soldiers behind him.

Those soldiers fell from their horses, their lives flickering like candles in the wind, mercilessly trampled under hoof.

”Don’t panic, judging from the terrain, there are not many places to hide. Let’s first flatten these Beastman troops in front of us and show them the cost of daring to attack us.”

Filo Ack was indifferent to the death of his subordinates, grabbed the tiger’s fur, got back to the right position, and drained a Recovery Potion.

In this sparsely vegetated, rocky terrain, there could be twenty or thirty people hiding at most which would be the limit.

Twenty or thirty people trying to withstand an army of nearly ten thousand would be possible only if each one of them had the strength of a general.

”The Beastmen’s tactical thinking is to disperse our troops as much as possible and then break them one by one.

It is very likely they are using such attacks to make us divide our forces and slow down, thus achieving the purpose of delaying.

We must not be deceived!”

Filo Ack lightly slapped his beloved mount, and the tiger beneath him bared its sharp teeth and pounced fiercely towards the Beastman Soldiers who were standing and starting to defend.

Just as Filo Ack had thought, this area with so few hiding places indeed couldn’t hide many people.

If one wanted to hide, just continuing in this direction would lead to a transition area with clusters of trees, mountainous terrain, and forests, where hundreds or thousands of people could hide. That was the kind of place to set an ambush.

Unfortunately, despite Filo Ack’s many calculations, he did not anticipate that this was precisely the ambush Yang Yu had set up.

Generally speaking, the forest is indeed the best place for ambushes during a transition, and Yang Yu had also considered whether to set an ambush in the transition area.

But considering the casualties, Yang Yu had the idea of deciding the battle at the stronghold, and thus they left the forest.

But not long after leaving the forest, the Beastmen caught the sound of the human troops, and Yang Yu made a swift decision to carry out the ambush on the spot.

Of course, this barren mountainous area could not hide many people.

But that was not a problem.

In this world of magic, where concepts like Level and attributes existed, it was possible to face a thousand enemies alone.

With the strength of Yang Yu’s small team, although it was difficult to pay attention to every front, taking care of their own was no problem.

Among those ambushed, there was one whose output alone was far beyond that of an ordinary general, belonging to the S+ level of Powerful individuals who should not be on the battlefield.

Not previously, but now it was the case.

Because Yang Yu had used up all of Bai Jin’s free attribute points.

This was completely in line with the rules of the giant dragons.

Having completed the construction of her Magic in hand, Bai Jin created a factory for firing Lightning Arrows and began to unleash her Magic at a certain rate at the Luo Ze cavalry charging at them.

The Luo Ze knights fell at an inconceivable speed almost instantly.

If Bai Jin were using high-powered Destruction Magic right now and had been wielding that Legendary Magic Wand, just by adjusting the angle well, it was likely that more than half of Luo Ze’s soldiers would ”Vanish” on the spot.

That would not be war but a massacre.

Therefore, the giant dragons had reasons for removing Powerful individuals from S+ and banning the use of large-scale lethal Magic.

Otherwise, the battle could be even more dreadful than imagined.

While Bai Jin’s Lightning Arrows were dense, each attack required aiming, meaning she could not rapidly take down the charging Luo Ze soldiers.

If too many of Luo Ze’s Empire soldiers amassed and threw themselves at Bai Jin, there was still a chance to subdue her.

Protecting Bai Jin from being subdued was the duty of Yang Yu, the warrior.

Sensing something was off, the soldiers of the Luo Ze Empire dismounted quickly and formed a battle array, chanting spells to cover the progress of their troops.

But Bai Jin’s magic targeted the carriages they were coming from, and before they could cast their spells, several Lightning Arrows landed on them.

Mages typically have high Magic Resistance, so Bai Jin had to rely on multiple Lightning Arrows to barely take down a single magician.

Nonetheless, Bai Jin’s attacks undoubtedly slowed down the Magic Troops’ speed of casting spells.

That was enough.

Seeing Luo Ze’s troops drawing nearer, Yang Yu and Lotcar, transformed into human form, slowly stood at the very front of the Beastman Army.

Drawing the new shield he had just acquired, Yang Yu crouched down.

”Interception!

Red Blood Path!”

An Illusion Shield unfolded in front of Yang Yu, who turned into a red bullet and charged alone into the incoming group of cavalry.

”Colorful hair and that strange mask, the legendary Colorful-haired Masked Man!”

Filo Ack was startled; in his wildest dreams, he never expected to encounter the legendary Colorful-haired Masked Man here.

By the end of last winter, the Colorful-haired Masked Man had already become somewhat renowned among their high-level knights and generals.

After the Qinghe Volcano was reclaimed, the Colorful-haired Masked Man’s reputation began to spread like wildfire.

Especially after clashing with Luo Ze Elite’s chief, the Luo Ze Empire took him very seriously and had secretly organized assassins to take his life.

But after reclaiming Qinghe Volcano, the Colorful-haired Masked Man seemed to Vanish from the Mortal World, leaving no trace on any battlefield.

The plan to dispatch assassins seemed to have been put on hold because of this.

If the rumors were true, what kind of assassin would it take to perfectly dispose of this man?

Filo Ack felt a hint of retreat in his heart, but in a flash, his conviction was reinforced.

This was a rare opportunity; if he could execute the Colorful-haired Masked Man here and now, then no one else could stop the Empire’s onslaught!

”He’s charging at me alone, he’s got a death wish!

Extended Attack!

Sharpening!

Sharp!

...”

As Yang Yu got closer, Filo Ack used a series of skills to enhance his Attack, and finally...

”Knight Advanced Protection!”

A halo of sacred light enveloped Filo Ack, turning into two swirling, golden Changliu River-colored Shields, protecting him and his beloved mount.

Yang Yu, turned into the red bullet, collided fiercely with the thick Light Shield.

Filo Ack swung his Sword Blade forward, and Yang Yu raised his Shield to meet the blow.

An instant later, a red glow emitted from the Shield in front of Filo Ack, followed by a surge of fire bursting forth from the Shield, engulfing Filo Ack and several nearby soldiers.

Unfortunately, the Active Skill of this Shield was based on the user’s Intelligence, so the damage from this attack was not high.
