Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Not giving up halfway, Yang Yu climbed back on top of the Eastern Demon God Statue’s head, and seeing Bai Jin and the others about to attack in the distance, he crossed his arms over his chest and shouted loudly,

”Pause the attack! Wait for my confirmation, then we’ll start attacking again.”

The Demon God Statue steadily approached with thundering steps. Bai Jin and Iyas couldn’t make out what Yang Yu was saying, but Lotcar could.

Lotcar immediately conveyed Yang Yu’s words to Bai Jin and Iyas, and their attacks halted instantly, focusing only on escaping.

Yang Yu took out his sword blade, and like a file, he repeatedly struck the body of the Demon God Statue.

When the damage accumulated to a certain extent, the Eastern Demon God Statue, which originally chased after Bai Jin and the others, swung its palm towards Yang Yu, who was causing chaos on its body.

Yang Yu easily dodged and once again descended the back of the Eastern Demon God Statue, landing on the ground, and then he climbed onto the Western Demon God Statue.

Seeing Yang Yu, the Eastern Demon God Statue swung its huge hammer without hesitation, smashing it into the body of the Western Demon God Statue. The impact dealt damage that didn’t match the panel attributes, wiping away nearly ten thousand blood volume.

This damage number…Could it be because of the Demon God Statue’s weapon?

It reminded him that the Mud Giants on this floor also inflicted significant damage on each other only when using weapons.

Perhaps exploiting their weapons could be a strategy to deal tons of damage on his own.

Clochi had used summoning magic to summon these Demon God Statues; they weren’t creations of the maze but rather real entities.

He wondered what would happen if he could scavenge a fragment from their weapons to make his own weapon.

Due to the Eastern Demon God Statue’s attack, the Western Demon God Statue trembled all over, looking as if it would fall at any moment.

Yet, despite such tremendous damage, the Western Demon God Statue, indifferent like a dead pig, continued to attack in the direction of Bai Jin and the others.

Perhaps the statues were acting according to Clochi’s fixed instructions.

If both Demon God Statues had consciousness, and one was hit by the other, how would they react as ordinary creatures?

Enduring the vibrations coming from the Western Demon God Statue’s body, Yang Yu climbed on top of its head and found a crevice to insert his blade into.

Instantly, red magic power like a ”stream” coursed throughout the Western Demon God Statue,

which then turned into a bronze color amidst the red magic flow. Shortly after transforming, the Eastern Demon God Statue’s hammer crashed into it.

Staggering, the Western Demon God Statue picked up its weapon and retaliated against the Eastern Demon God Statue which dared to attack it.

The two exchanged blows, getting thoroughly entangled.

Using the adhesion provided by ”Climbing”, Yang Yu could confidently maneuver across every part of the Demon God Statues.

Even though their every attack was nearly with full strength, causing terrifying cracks with red magic power flowing out, Yang Yu still landed on the ground steadily.

Yang Yu repeated his tactics, further activating the Northern and Southern Demon God Statues, inducing them to commence battle.

The Southern Demon God Statue, not caring about ”brotherhood”, swung its weapon ”Bam!” and ruthlessly smashed it on the body of the Northern Demon God Statue.

The Northern Demon God Statue returned the favor just as fiercely.

The blood volume of all the Demon God Statues was visibly depleting rapidly.

Under ferocious impacts, the first to fall were the Western and Northern Demon God Statues; then, Yang Yu incited another fight between the Eastern and Southern Demon God Statues.

Finally, only the victorious Southern Demon God Statue remained.

And Yang Yu had already returned to Bai Jin and Iyas, issuing the command to attack.

The already tottering Southern Demon God Statue, under the attacks of Bai Jin and Iyas, completely turned into a heap of rubble.

To be precise, all the once formidable Demon God Statues were now just piles of rubble.

At the center of the Ninth Floor, a golden light slowly rose, surging into the profound sky.

After careful investigation, Bai Jin was hundred percent certain it was a Teleportation Magic Array.

It was the typical clearance Teleportation Magic Array that often appeared after passing through the levels of the Underground Maze.

As long as you enter this Magic Array, you will be teleported out of the vicinity of the maze, which is very convenient.

”Looks like this counts as clearing the maze.”

Yang Yu stretched lazily, feeling somewhat tired, but at least he had confirmed the existence of a viable strategy when he had used up half of his stamina.

”That was terrifying,” Iyas patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief, ”I thought I had accidentally triggered some terrible mechanism.”

”Mhm.”

Bai Jin also nodded her head. She had even prepared the Fairy’s Magic Stone, but she didn’t expect the Demon God Statue to self-destruct so quickly.

”Next, we need to search the ruins for the strength mentioned by the Maze Guardian.

If I can’t find it, I’ll dig three feet into the ground to find it.

Bai Jin, since you’re a Mage, you probably understand better what’s in those rubble.

I’ll leave the task of checking to you.”

”It’s not necessary to go to such trouble.”

Suddenly, a voice came from behind Yang Yu and the others.

Turning around, they saw a man standing behind them.

The man had a shiny bald head and wore garments made of fur, smiling at Yang Yu and the others,

”I’m faster than I anticipated.

As I predicted, if you were to truly start challenging it, you would easily conquer this maze.”

Clochi, who had just been defeated by Yang Yu, appeared in front of them nonchalantly.

Iyas immediately tensed up, readied her longbow, and aimed it at Clochi.

Clochi frowned helplessly,

”There’s no need to be so cautious. I’m not considered a ghost in this maze.”

Iyas glanced at Yang Yu and, seeing him nod at her, finally lowered her bow and arrows.

Clochi cleared his throat and chuckled, ”First of all, I sincerely congratulate you on clearing this Underground Maze!

Don’t look at me with those eyes.

If I were to vanish just like that, who would continue to run this Underground Maze?

Only after distributing all the treasures inside can I fulfill all my duties and vanish peacefully.

Doing my job diligently is also my way of making up for my past deeds.

Besides, if I just disappeared, you’d have to exert some effort to retrieve the ’strength’ from the ruins.”

Watching Clochi who had suddenly appeared, Yang Yu sighed deeply,

”Just when I was conquering the Hall of Wisdom, the Amon I fought disappeared so easily...”

”Every Underground Maze has its own unique qualities.

The rules that apply to one may not apply to another.

The number of Guardians might vary too. This ’Hall of Power’ is just an enlarged version of a regular large maze.

Except for the last floor, one only needs to compete in raw strength to reach the Ninth Floor.

The more complicated aspect is just summoning that statue.”

Clochi stood with hands on hips,

”The deeper you are in this Underground Maze, the more you feel its magic.

Lux really created something extraordinary.”
