Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

From afar, Yang Yu witnessed Bai Jin raising her Magic Wand, multiple arrays flickering with white light forming in front of the wand.

The harsh Blizzard swept across four Demon God Statues, causing their movement to slow suddenly.

Lotcar took a deep breath, dodged the attacks from the Demon God Statues, turned back from the end of the maze, and under the enhancement of Iyas’s ”Heavenly Feather” and several other buffs, he passed by the Eastern Demon God Statue.

Bai Jin sat astride Lotcar, an Ice Spear forming in front of her Magic Wand, repeatedly aiming at Clochi but never releasing the spear.

In the end, Bai Jin slightly lowered her body, aimed the Magic Wand at the Western Demon God Statue.

The sharp Ice Spear pierced straight out, hitting the Western Demon God Statue, shattering into countless ice crystals.

Having fought side by side with Yang Yu for so long, Bai Jin could gauge from his movements his level of confidence in a battle.

This battle was almost certainly in Yang Yu’s favor. Launching an attack carelessly could be well-meaning but disruptive, messing up his rhythm.

Thus, in the end, Bai Jin decided not to interfere in their battle.

Holding onto her Magic Wand tightly, Bai Jin recalled countless battles, big and small.

Indeed... he was very impressive.

In comparison, the things I could do...

Also increased quite a bit.

I should be useful.

...In the future, I will definitely be even more useful.

Determined, Bai Jin shifted her magic and kept pouring magic power on the chasing Demon God Statues, wearing down their thick blood volume.

The back of the Eastern Demon God Statue.

Amid the flashes of swords and shadows, Yang Yu’s suffocating attacks came again.

Clochi tried to raise his sword to block, but the flaws accumulated over several rounds finally erupted at this moment.

Yang Yu’s Sword Blade struck Clochi without any tricks.

Then, seizing this slight flaw, Yang Yu relentlessly hit Clochi one after another, reducing Clochi’s blood volume to the execute threshold.

”This is the final strike.”

The Sword Blade flared up with an orange-red glow, and Yang Yu reliably pierced Clochi’s chest, splashing up a spray of blood-red.

Blackness gradually faded from Clochi, and he returned to his original human form.

Touching his damp chest, with the red blood reflected in his eyes, images began to flood Clochi’s mind.

Just like the scene back then...

Am I going to die again?

”If I also had skills like yours back then, perhaps that tragedy wouldn’t have happened...”

The private murmur unintentionally slipped from his lips, Clochi’s solid body gradually becoming ethereal, turning into sparkling points of light, slowly vanishing.

Naturally, he was also unable to hold onto the cyan Sword Blade.

The Sword Blade wielded by the Demon God fell straight down, without any hesitation; Yang Yu retracted his own sword and caught the cyan sword’s hilt.

Without waiting for any further inspection, Yang Yu felt something smashing toward his face.

Instinctively dodging, he found it was a Treasure Box that had fallen from Clochi’s body; Yang Yu retracted the sword and shield back into the System, dove rapidly, and caught the red-gold-bordered Treasure Box.

After spinning two and a half rotations in the air, Yang Yu landed firmly on the ground.

The turning Demon God Statue stepped toward him, Yang Yu utilized his Speed to dodge this attack, simultaneously turning towards the spot where Clochi had just been.

Without saying a word, Clochi had completely vanished into thin air.

”Is this the fate of a Maze Guardian?

In the maze, they also managed to extend their own lives.

I wonder if there are any Maze Guardians in certain mazes who deliberately make things difficult for adventurers just to ensure their own survival.

But now’s not the time to think about that.

First, I must either stop these four Demon God Statues or completely destroy them.”

Having stored the Treasure Box in the System, Yang Yu took out a cyan sword.

After grabbing the cyan sword, Yang Yu could see some more detailed information.

As expected, the sword bore the hint, ”Key to the Demon God Statue.”

Perhaps, if one could just climb to the top of the Demon God’s head and insert the sword, it might stop the Demon God Statue.

If it were an ordinary adventurer team, even knowing that the cyan sword was crucial, climbing this huge statue would still require considerable effort.

However, with the ”Wall Climbing” Skill, which truly allowed one to scale walls, getting the cyan Sword Blade to the top of the Eastern Demon God Statue’s head was a piece of cake for Yang Yu.

To ensure he could handle any unexpected situations that might arise later, Yang Yu downed a Big Blue Potion, almost filling his mana to the brim.

Then, he swiftly put away the sword, planned his route, and from the heel of the Eastern Demon God Statue, he climbed up its back straight to the top of its head.

Finding the slit from where Clochi had pulled out the Sword Blade, Yang Yu reinserted the cyan Sword Blade and tried turning it left and right.

However, the cyan Sword Blade wouldn’t budge and couldn’t be turned like a normal key.

He should have asked Clochi how to use the sword, although Yang Yu thought that even if he had asked, Clochi probably wouldn’t have told him.

Just as Yang Yu was about to pull out the cyan sword and reevaluate his plan, a hot flow of red Magic Power surged out from the handle of the cyan sword.

This time, a hot flow of red Magic Power appeared only on the Eastern Demon God Statue Yang Yu was on, with no such occurrence on the other three statues.

The hot flow of red Magic Power was like someone pouring a pail of water from the Demon God Statue’s head to its feet.

The skin of the Eastern Demon God Statue became even more supple, gradually turning into a bronze color.

After completely pulling out the cyan sword, Yang Yu opened the panel to check the attributes of the Demon God Statue beneath him.

The attributes of the Eastern Demon God Statue beneath him had not changed at all because of that flow.

”This red hot flow is definitely strange.”

While he said that, apart from feeling a bit of warmth from the red hot flow, Yang Yu couldn’t pinpoint anything abnormal.

Suddenly, a gigantic hand fiercely swatted at Yang Yu, as if swatting a fly above its head.

The Eastern Demon God Statue, which had shown no interest in him till now, actually attacked him.

With the cyan sword, Yang Yu leapt to the back of the Eastern Demon God Statue. The hand that had been brushing its head suddenly scratched its back as Yang Yu continued to dodge.

The reaction of the Demon God Statue was complete different from before, as if it had gained its own consciousness.

Could the other Demon God Statues exhibit similar behavior?

Bai Jin and Iyas’s attacks struck the body of the Eastern Demon God Statue that had turned to bronze, causing the Eastern Demon God Statue to react like an angry child, picking up its weapon and attacking Lotcar and his companions.

This was truly problematic.

The body of the Demon God Statue seemed to have acquired actual sensations.

Perhaps this Demon God Statue was also some remarkable object.

Now it was attacking Bai Jin and his companions, targeting those who had inflicted significant damage on it, just like the usual monsters on this level.

Wait a second.

If that’s the case, the method used to deal with ordinary Mud Giants might also work on these Demon God Statues.
