Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 556: Chapter 556 I Thought I Was Already Known by Everyone

In Yaklo’s view, humans were unlikely to just appear in the Sub-human Kingdom that despised humans, even if he was a down-and-out Monster Tamer.

The reason this Monster Tamer had brought his demons here was probably because he had heard that the slave business was booming and the market price of elves was high, so he risked coming to the Elf Forest to plan on snatching elves and making a big profit.

Unfortunately, this Monster Tamer’s plan overlapped with their plans.

With such a big commotion, regardless of the outcome, the Monster Tamer’s plan to make a big profit was ruined, which was why he had rushed into the fire and confronted them to demand an explanation.

As for the Monster Tamer coming to save the elves, the chances were so small they could be ignored unless he was an incredibly foolish idiot.

Based on the principle that less trouble is better than more, Yaklo had proposed this transaction.

After all, because too many elves had been caught a year ago, the Chaoyang Chamber of Commerce and other underground organizations that trafficked in elves had started to lower the purchase price of elves. Missing a few wouldn’t matter; the losses could be made up elsewhere...

Besides, catching elves to make money was only a secondary goal. Spending a little money to get rid of this unwelcome visitor would also ensure that other places wouldn’t panic and could smoothly complete their tasks.

”You’re saying, if I help you transport all these elves out, I can freely choose three elves as a reward?

Then this really is a very worthwhile deal.

There are indeed many good-looking elves here.”

Yang Yu leapt down from under Lotcar,

”But isn’t the offer a bit too straightforward?”

”Ha ha ha, you wouldn’t say that if you knew how tough the Elf Queen’s Guard is.

You brought such a big Magic Beast, and I have seen your strength. Although I am not afraid, if my team gets injured or you restrain us, it will only lead to continuous troubles in the subsequent process.

Today I am happy because we caught so many elves suddenly, and to avoid trouble, I am being generous.

You can choose three, or four of lesser quality, plus one lame elf.

Think it over,

I can’t give any more, and I advise you not to push your luck.”

Yang Yu wasn’t carrying any weapons, and they had the advantage in numbers, so Yaklo naturally had the confidence and wasn’t afraid that Yang Yu wouldn’t accept.

”Fine then, the conditions you propose are really quite good; I guess I’m lucky. I was only planning to catch three or four elves anyway.”

Yang Yu walked a few steps toward Yaklo, his gaze sweeping over each cage,

”Taking care of a lame elf is quite troublesome, so I’ll just pick three elves that I like, play with them for a while, then sell them to someone else.”

”Ha ha, please do, but to prevent the Elf Guard from catching up, better wait until we leave this place before you slowly choose.”

”Okay,” Yang Yu responded, then crouched, saying, ”Make sure the cages are in order, my shoes are a bit uncomfortable. Let me fix them.”

”Sure.”

Yaklo responded, but he didn’t let his guard down, watching every move Yang Yu made.

Seeing Yang Yu really fiddling with his shoes, Yaklo had no intention of attacking, as the giant wolf by Yang Yu’s side was also eyeing him warily.

Guessing the lad wanted to test whether he would attack, Yaklo used magic to summon a carriage and organized his men to load the elves onto the carriage.

Just then, Yang Yu placed his hand on the ground and openly executed a skill, ”Thorny Binding.”

Rows of thorns grew rapidly from the underground, attacking Yaloke and his group. A white light emerged from Yaklo’s hand and transformed into a silver-white cleaver, instantly slicing through the sprouting thorns. Mande, beside him, also fiercely tore off the thorns entangled around his body.

But the others weren’t so lucky; they were engulfed by the thorns conjured by Yang Yu and couldn’t free themselves for a while.

Yaklo looked up, intending to question why Yang Yu had suddenly launched an attack, only to see Yang Yu conjure a sharp sword and a sturdy shield from mid-air, slashing towards his face.

Yaklo chanted a spell, and a protective shield opened instantly, enveloping him. When Yang Yu’s sword struck it, only a ”ding—” sound was emitted.

Mande beside Yaklo launched a double fist strike towards Yang Yu.

Yang Yu leapt backward, escaping Mande’s attack range, causing Mande’s fists to smash heavily onto the ground, instantly spreading a terrifying crack.

Gazing at Yang Yu, Yaklo’s mouth twitched downwards, extremely displeased,

”It seems you didn’t come here to discuss business!”

”Likewise,” Yang Yu straightened up and smiled, ”Neither did you. Coming to catch elves for sale isn’t that simple, right, two priests from the Curse Sect?”

When they had entered Elf Forest, Yaklo and Mande were dressed no differently than ordinary Slave Hunters, and only insiders knew of their operations; they hadn’t expected their identities to be exposed so abruptly.

”Who on earth are you? How do you know our identities?”

”Who? I thought I was well known in the Curse Sect. It seems even within the same sect, you don’t share information with each other.

Well, I’ll consider any information I can get from you as a bonus.”

Seeing Yang Yu’s excited face, Yaklo knew that Yang Yu had not come for the elves, but for them.

”Where did the information leak from, anyways? No matter, you must die today!”

A killing intent ignited in Yaklo’s eyes, a new spell gathering in his hands. However, Mande was quicker, his huge hands forming fists and smashing towards Yang Yu in a flurry of attacks.

Initially, the target of Yaklo’s magic wasn’t Yang Yu but the giant wolf, which was deemed a more dangerous opponent.

Sensing the danger, Lotcar burst forth with great Strength, charging towards Yaklo.

”It’s useless.”

The spell Yaklo intended to use was a protective and offensive skill— ”Molten Rock Shield.” Should the giant wolf dare pounce on him, it would definitely burn terribly.

But just when the enormous figure in front of Yaklo burst into a blinding silver light, slowing his chanting by a fraction of a second,

In that fraction of a second, Lotcar transformed into human form, with light emanating from his fist, and launched it at Yaklo.

It was ”Fearless Shock.”

Yaklo recognized this skill; a skill capable of interrupting magic casting at close range. As a Magician, he had no way to defend himself; the gathered Magic Power was instantly dispersed.

With one punch, Lotcar knocked Yaklo toward the back. Fortunately, halfway through, Yaklo summoned ”Lightweight” to reduce his own weight, barely stopping himself and spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Engaging in close combat as a traditional Mage, Yaklo was hardly a match; he could now only rely on his Believers.

The Believers entangled in thorns should have been about to free themselves, ready to reverse the combat situation.

But as Yaklo looked towards the trapped Believers, he saw a Slime emerge from nowhere, stretching into a rope and effortlessly tying up all the Believers together.
