Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 424: Chapter 424: Master’s Long-cherished Wish

Countless black spiritual bodies emerged from the Black Group under Kenro’s feet like eels, transforming into arms that attacked Bai Jin and Iyas.

Bai Jin hastily activated ”Magic Protection” to block the oncoming black arms while using the ”Ice Cone Skill” to freeze the surroundings and slow down the attacking spiritual bodies.

Pulling arrows from her quiver, Iyas drew her bow again. Her arrows pierced through the attacking black hands, but ordinary arrows could not completely destroy them.

Several black hands, still pierced with Iyas’s arrows, continued their attack, each one emanating an aura of ruthlessness.

Iyas held her breath, waiting for all the black hands to get close enough, then emitted the power of Holy Light from her body, creating ripples of waves.

The black hands nearing them stopped their movements like vampires upon seeing sunlight and started to avoid them.

Taking advantage of this pause, Iyas cast the ”True Word Blessing” on Bai Jin, enhancing her damage output.

Switching to chanting ”Frost Nova,” Bai Jin waved her Magic Wand, directing the white Magic Array toward the cowering black hands in the shadow. In an instant, a torrent of snow poured out from the woven Array, freezing several black hands and forming a solid ice wall.

Feeling the restraint on his feet weakening, Lotcar forcefully pulled free the spiritual arms grabbing his ankles,

”You better hold on tight.”

Reminding Bai Jin and Iyas to grip tightly, Lotcar started running at full speed.

As Kenro used the black spiritual bodies to break through the ice, he watched the direction Bai Jin and the others were escaping, removing his mask to reveal a face scarred as if mauled by some creature,

”Such powerful Holy Light, unprecedented, surely not weaker than the Holy Maiden of the Goddess Sect.

Damn goddess, damn Goddess Sect, you will all perish, and demons will descend upon this world to reshape everything.

And my long-held wish will be fulfilled.

Capturing that girl is the first step in awakening the demon!”

Putting his mask back on, countless smaller groups branched off the Black Group at his feet and spread in all directions. Then, numerous spiritual bodies once again supported Kenro as he moved through the dense forest.

Lotcar did not dare to slow down. Meanwhile, he was also using his keen sense of smell to catch Yang Yu’s or Gordon’s scent in the air.

Only after they regrouped with Yang Yu could they capture this troublesome Sect member.

But danger always arrived faster than expected.

”They’ve already followed.”

Within Iyas’s sensory range, she once again detected the dark presence, its movement speed astonishing Iyas.

Iyas suddenly realized that the slow-moving black hound might have just herded them toward Kenro’s location.

Thinking this, Iyas reluctantly grasped Lotcar’s fur; they were like ants being toyplayed within applause.

Bai Jin also tightly held onto Lotcar’s fur, but her current state of mind was different from Iyas’s.

The member of the Curse Sect, undoubtedly, was after the object she was holding.

Bai Jin didn’t know what exactly the object was.

Before passing away, her master had earnestly cautioned her never to tell anyone that she possessed it nor carelessly reveal it; otherwise, it could lead to deadly peril.

Only one circumstance allowed for the object to be taken out, which was when it could genuinely be destroyed. Bai Jin’s master had always wandered the world in search of a way to destroy the object.

Bai Jin’s mentor...no, her father, had once said that there was no rush to destroy that thing. He had perfectly sealed it, and as long as it wasn’t taken out, no one could sense its existence. Bai Jin still had plenty of youth to enjoy while she looked for a place to destroy it.

But Bai Jin had always thought of completing the task her mentor had given her before she started her own life.

After her mentor’s death, Bai Jin had been searching for a place to destroy that thing.

If it hadn’t been for falling ill mid-journey and being invited to join Yang Yu’s team, she might still be searching for a way to destroy that thing.

It was precisely because of that illness that she encountered Yang Yu.

After confirming that the resurrection medicine didn’t work on her illness, Bai Jin thought she was not going to make it and had once thought of entrusting Yang Yu with handling that thing; that was also the day she first took out the thing her mentor had given her.

Her mentor’s sealing was perfect, as long as it wasn’t taken out, no one would notice its existence.

The mistake was her own; at that time, she took the thing out, holding the naive hope that it wouldn’t be discovered by anyone and wouldn’t involve anyone, and quietly took it back.

In the end, just as her mentor had said, once the thing was taken out, unpredictable dangers approached and would continue to do so one after another.

There was also something Bai Jin had never told anyone.

In truth, she had already found a place to destroy that thing—at Qinghe Volcano in Wansheng Country.

This was information Bai Jin had secretly obtained through Tico.

After Yang Yu had helped Iyas, they were definitely going to visit Wansheng Country. Bai Jin had originally planned to wait until their group reached Wansheng Country, then find an excuse to go to Qinghe Volcano and throw the thing into the volcano.

To bid farewell to that thing, as well as her past self, and start a new life, smiling as she faced the future.

But Bai Jin had never expected that because of her little selfishness, the team would unknowingly walk into danger.

The Curse Sect clearly wanted that thing, and if she threw it away, there was a high chance the team would escape.

The problem was, if the thing fell into the hands of the Curse Sect, who knew what terrible things could happen.

Originally, her mentor hadn’t told her what kind of turmoil the thing could cause.

Perhaps in her father’s view, she could definitely complete this task properly.

On one hand was her father’s last wish; on the other were her companions.

Bai Jin didn’t know what to do for a moment.

”Bai Jin, don’t space out, hurry up and defend!”

The sudden voice snapped Bai Jin out of her dilemma; Iyas had already instructed Lotcar to pick as smooth a path as possible, shooting arrows one after another at the approaching shadows with the bows and arrows in her hands.

Returning to her senses from her deep thoughts, Bai Jin quickly extended her Magic Wand and performed a defense, as Frost Ice Arrows repelled one leaping shadow after another.

But Kenro’s speed was just too fast; while Bai Jin and her team were mounting a difficult defense, Kenro had already ridden the darkness’s Spiritual Body towards them.

”The cat-and-mouse game is over.”

The shadows tracking Bai Jin and her team regrouped one by one, turning back into the Black Group under Kenro’s feet, which then morphed into several arms reaching out for Lotcar from all directions.

Lotcar made a sharp turn, causing the black arms to swing and miss, loudly striking the ground with a bam, and then he stopped.

”There’s no other way, Bai Jin, Iyas, we have to fight now.”
