Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 419: Chapter 419: I Have My Own Judgment

Using the ”Dancing in the Air” technique, Gordon soared into the sky and, with a ”swoosh,” disappeared.

Big Pancake Face furrowed his brows. Wanjing Zhuhua beside him spoke up,

”Our adventure group’s captain has always been quite capricious. For him attacking your subordinate on his own, I offer you my deepest apologies, and I ask for your forgiveness.”

From the investigation’s findings, Wanjing Zhuhua was an entity even more troublesome than Gordon.

Big Pancake Face quickly waved his hands, signalling he could not possibly accept Wanjing Zhuhua’s grand gesture,

”That boy got what he deserved. It’s just that there is a blood connection between him and me, so I couldn’t bear to deal with him myself. Now that you’ve hit him, you truly have lifted a great weight off my heart.”

Wanjing Zhuhua pushed up his glasses,

”There’s another matter. Since my captain has decided to apprehend that fraud alone, you’d best follow his advice and not interfere, to avoid accidental injury.”

”Of course. With you taking action, I believe those thieves will quickly be apprehended by you.”

With a forced smile on his face, Big Pancake Face gave a nonchalant response, though he was inwardly cursing his luck.

He had made promises to that troublesome Curse Sect in advance, and now, even if he couldn’t personally capture the thief, he had to pass the intelligence to the people of the Curse Sect.

If something were to happen to the young girl the Curse Sect was desperately searching for, it could inevitably mean trouble for his Trade Hall.

After setting up the remaining three members of the Red Blood Rose and instructing the butler to take good care of them, Big Pancake Face found an excuse to return to his bedroom.

He twirled the lamp and shifted a book the distance of one book’s width to the right on the bookshelf, revealing a hidden compartment in which lay a black sphere.

Big Pancake Face gently touched it, and the black sphere immediately expanded into a shadow nearly as tall as an adult and without feet.

The shadow coldly demanded, ”Have they shown up yet?”

At first, Big Pancake Face found it difficult to speak, but under the pressure from the shadow, he replied with utmost certainty,

”He has shown up already, deceived all of us, and rescued the bait. He is one man, and his companions must be nearby. It should be easy to catch him with your power. The problem is, Red Blood Rose wants a piece of the action too. Red Blood Rose outwardly still supports the Royal Family. If they discover you, there could be mishaps. If our relationship gets discovered...”

”I will handle it,” the shadow assured.

With that, the shadow dispersed once more, returning to its true master.

Meanwhile, in several inns, men in black robes started receiving instructions from the shadows wrapped around their necks.

They donned masks engraved with the black perennials of the Other Shore and stealthily set out, initiating a widespread search in the town for the hurried targets.

Watching the dissipating shadow, Big Pancake Face bared his teeth. Whether it was Gordon from the Red Blood Rose or those from the Curse Sect, each was too presumptuous, hardly taking him seriously.

If the plan were successful, and that unique potion could be produced, his commerce would have its own place on the world stage, no longer needing to play to others’ whims.

Still harboring resentment over Yang Yu’s intrusion into the research lab, Big Pancake Face wiped his face and put on a smile specially reserved for guests before stepping out of the bedroom.

He still had to continue receiving the three members of the Red Blood Rose, and he absolutely couldn’t show any negative emotions, lest he leave a bad impression on others.

Meanwhile, Yang Yu, carrying Hake on his back, was sprinting nonstop through the streets, heading towards the nearest city wall.

With the skill ”Climbing”, the small city wall could no longer hinder his pace; Yang Yu, whose main attribute was Endurance, had plenty of stamina and mana, and climbing over the wall was a piece of cake for him.

Bai Jin and Iyas were waiting for Yang Yu’s return outside the forest.

Iyas crouched on the branch of a large tree, keeping watch while adjusting her own mood.

If all went well, she would reunite with her brother, whom she hadn’t seen in a whole year.

Even now, Iyas didn’t know what to say to Hake upon their reunion.

Sitting on a rock, Bai Jin held the Crystal Ball, waiting for a message from Gordon.

The spot where Bai Jin and Iyas were currently didn’t correspond to the final rendezvous point with Yang Yu.

Before the plan commenced, Bai Jin’s Crystal Ball had already logged the Magic Power imprints of Gordon and Wanjing Zhuhua.

To ensure Yang Yu’s freedom within the city and secure his and Hake’s safe escape from the territory of the Silver Orchid Commerce, Yang Yu’s escape route was not fixed.

Yang Yu’s plan involved using the excuse of a trade to legitimately enter the Trade Hall of the Silver Orchid Commerce through the main door with the Red Blood Rose, and then, finding an opportunity, he would stealthily infiltrate alone, locate Hake, and take him away.

In Yang Yu’s plan, he would intentionally leave some survivors behind, deliberately exposing flaws.

Once the Red Blood Rose realized they had been ”deceived,” Gordon’s rage alone would overshadow the fury of the Silver Orchid Commerce, forcing them to hold back from acting.

Gordon, who was rapidly flying in the air, had an extremely broad field of vision and could detect the direction of Yang Yu’s escape at the first opportunity.

At that point, he could inform Bai Jin of Yang Yu’s escape direction, facilitating their interception.

Meanwhile, Gordon could pretend to not have noticed Yang Yu’s departure, sulkily return to the Trade Hall, and have a heart-to-heart with the Commerce Association President, discussing major affairs involving Potions, making the incident dissipate into nothing.

After a long wait, Bai Jin’s Crystal Ball finally showed a reaction.

The round Crystal Ball reflected Gordon’s youthful countenance, lightly brushing his hair, as he informed Bai Jin of the direction of Yang Yu’s escape.

Holding the Crystal Ball, Bai Jin immediately stood up, looking towards Iyas, who was waiting in the tree,

”Iyas, to the carriage.”

Iyas’s arm skillfully hooked onto a branch, she landed steadily on the carriage, and stretched out her hand to Bai Jin.

Bai Jin climbed onto the carriage with a boost and said to Lotcar:

”Follow along the edge of the city, head east, toward the East Gate.”

Without further communication, Lotcar began pulling the carriage eastward along the city’s edge.

What Bai Jin and the others didn’t know was that a burly middle-aged man, clothed in a black cloak and wearing a black-death mask, had already taken position above the city walls near the East Gate.

The man faced the lush forest as countless black shadows emerged from under his feet. They poured into the dense forest like countless birds casting their shadows from the sky, conducting a carpet-like search.

Minutes before, this man had received word from the Believers, confirming the direction of Yang Yu’s advance towards this area.

The traitor’s daughter they had been desperately searching for, was also likely hidden nearby, together with that man’s accomplices.
