Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 420: Chapter 420 Impossible, Does Not Exist

Yang Yu never liked to waste Skill Points. When learning ”Shadow Deception,” he also acquired a prerequisite skill called ”Shadow Power.”

This Skill’s effect was to extract some Magic Power from oneself and create an illusion identical to oneself.

In the Ancient Martial Arts Sect known as Shadow Stream, this shadow, which closely resembles the person, was an essential Skill for initiating most attacks.

Unfortunately, this skill itself had no attack power and could only take someone by surprise at best, much like just now.

The shadow replicated by ”Shadow Power” was predominantly black, and as long as one wasn’t blind, they would know it was a fake body.

It only worked best when completely dressed in black or in the pitch-dark environment where one couldn’t see their own hands.

Scenes like this in full black were really hard to come by.

Despite not wanting to waste this skill, it wasn’t strong enough to make Yang Yu completely change his dressing habits; there were plenty of stronger skills than it.

He faced no obstructions along the way, and as Yang Yu got closer to the city wall, he lightly jumped up and once again activated ”Climbing,” climbing vertically up the city wall.

As he got closer to the edge of the city wall, seven black ghosts howled and pounced from the top of the wall. Yang Yu reacted quickly, canceled ”Climbing,” and, with one hand, grabbed onto the edge of the wall, causing the ghosts to miss their attack.

The black ”ghosts” roamed in the air for a while, turned around, and pounced toward Yang Yu again.

Yang Yu pulled himself up, curled his body, and the seven ghosts roared as they smashed into the wall below him, the terrifying booming sound echoing through the city.

With his toes against the wall, before the aftermath of the explosion could reach him, Yang Yu once more relied on ”Climbing” to stabilize his body and climbed in one go to the top of the city wall.

He saw a man in a black Magic Robe standing opposite him.

The man wore a mask adorned with a black Otherworld Flower, and his clothing could not conceal his bulging muscles. Below his feet was a pool of black shadow, thick as if he was stepping in a puddle of black water.

Through the panel, Yang Yu saw the man’s attributes:

[Curse Sect Great Priest Kenro Miller Level: LV 73

Attributes: HP: 6610/6610 MP: 2453/4851

Strength 204, Defense 353, Intelligence 680, Special Defense 353, Agility 410, Endurance 256

Resistances: Dark Attribute 50%, Magic Resistance 20%, Light Attribute Resistance -20%

]

Soul Shepherd, a unit that could manipulate a vast amount of Spiritual Body.

Looking at the panel, Yang Yu secretly marveled, another challenging opponent had arrived, and moreover, someone from the Curse Sect.

The shadows he controlled were probably summoned from the black pool beneath his feet.

Just as he thought this, two shadows emerged from the black mass under Kenro’s feet, appearing like worms coming out of the ground, and transformed into fierce faces with snapping jaws, lunging at Yang Yu.

Yang Yu tucked Hake at his waist with one hand and took out a sword from the System.

Against an opponent who used Spiritual Bodies to attack, shields were utterly useless.

He couldn’t use a shield, nor was there any way to use one,

”Surface Coating”

A strange light flashed over the Sword Blade, and Yang Yu swung his Sword Blade, striking back the attacking ghosts like hitting a baseball.

Kenro raised his hand, and the struck-back ghosts instantly stopped in front of Kenro.

Yang Yu didn’t take this opportunity to quickly get around Kenro, but instead faced him directly, and asked,

”I really didn’t expect Silver Orchid Commerce to spend so much to put us to death. Even having the Great Priest of the Curse Sect come out personally.

Tell me, what benefits did they offer you? If I double it, would that work? Could you let us go?”

Kenro once again cast the halted ghosts into the dark mass at his feet, then raised his hand and summoned two new ghosts from the mass, shaping them into two black orbs in his palms,

”A way out?

Impossible, it doesn’t exist.

That traitor’s daughter must have told you quite a bit by now?

...Perhaps not, perhaps you’re just hired by someone.

But as long as you have that bait, they will definitely come knocking.

So, you and the bait can stay right here!”

Even without thinking about it, Yang Yu knew exactly whom Kenro was referring to as the traitor’s daughter.

It could only be Bai Jin, a Curse Mage, who would be involved with the dark Curse Sect.

Now was the moment for the hidden task within Bai Jin to reveal itself, but the timing of this related task couldn’t have been worse—it had to occur just as he was saving someone...

Additionally, possessing a formidable Level of seventy-three, this priest made Bai Jin’s side quest incredibly challenging.

Different religious factions, with their own unique names, managed power in various capacities.

Yang Yu knew little, but understood that the Pope was the top leader of the Church, followed by a hierarchy that included positions like Priest, Archbishop, and so on.

Correspondingly, the Curse Sect and the Goddess Sect likely had similar roles.

With one of the Great Priests of the Curse Sect already at Level seventy-three, the leader of the Curse Sect could easily surpass Level one hundred.

Undoubtedly, the Curse Sect was a massive force of darkness in this world.

Such an immense power was beyond what Yang Yu could handle at this time.

The Great Priest before him was not someone Yang Yu, with his weak attack power, could defeat.

Moreover, Yang Yu was burdened with Hake, dragging him down.

However, he didn’t run. It was clear that their target was Bai Jin, and with Yang Yu’s speed, it would not be enough to shake off Kenro. Meeting up with Bai Jin would only lead the entire team into greater peril.

Therefore, Yang Yu decided to continue fighting here.

Gordon was right behind him, and all he had to do was wait for Gordon to come to his aid and they could pin this man down and beat him up mercilessly.

Kenro forcefully merged the two ghosts in his hands, and amid their chilling screams, Kenro’s power began to surge out of control, causing the dark mass under his feet to boil vigorously, infusing even more power into the sphere in his hands.

A booming sound erupted as the sphere in Kenro’s hands transformed into thick smoke, which before him materialized into a tangible, pitch-black warrior.

And the dark warrior was the spitting image of Bu Yao Lianzi, whom Yang Yu had previously defeated.

”His ghost is here too? Is he dead?

I did leave him a breath last time. Turns out, it was in vain.

To manipulate the dead in battle, that should fall into the realm of a Death Mage.”

”I’m certainly not a Death Mage, I simply command the souls of the departed.

I know this soul has a deep personal vendetta against you.

It was his intense hatred towards you that compelled his spirit to linger in this world.

I gave him the opportunity to seek vengeance on you.”

”Well, thanks a lot for that then!”

As Yang Yu finished speaking, Bu Yao Lianzi swung his fists toward Yang Yu, launching an attack.
