Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 423: Chapter 423: You Bully Me, I’m Going to Tell Mom

Kenro’s gentle punch was like a giant stone slamming into Lotcar’s cheek.

Lotcar swayed and only just managed to stay upright by spreading his limbs to support himself.

In the Curse Sect, positions were not decided based on strength alone.

To become a bishop or higher, charisma and organizational management abilities were prioritized over physical strength.

This led to some Great Priests having power far surpassing that of bishops.

Kenro’s control over spiritual bodies was extraordinarily refined, his power far deeper and more unfathomable than the data displayed on his panel allowed, using various spiritual bodies to aid in his attacks.

The manipulation of spiritual bodies, strong or weak, was the primary factor determining his strength.

Not only could spiritual bodies attack and defend, but Kenro could also use them to scout large areas, assign them to followers, or even facilitate real-time communication.

There was no one more suited for reconnaissance.

Upon hearing that the Silver Orchid Commerce controlled a key figure likely to be used as bait to draw out enemies, the Curse Sect had deployed Kenro.

Kenro’s plan was simple; the Silver Orchid Commerce would lure the person to the Trade Hall, and they would block all exits.

Had the Silver Orchid Commerce not been preparing to welcome the ”Red Blood Rose,” Kenro wouldn’t have withdrawn the spiritual bodies spread throughout the city or put his personnel on standby; instead, he could have completely trapped Yang Yu in the city the moment he climbed over the wall.

However, Kenro hadn’t expected that among Yang Yu’s team, there would be someone capable of sensing even the most subtle spiritual bodies.

Fortunately, she hadn’t followed them, or else the pervasive spiritual bodies throughout the city would have been detected, startling the enemy prematurely.

Flicking off the black spiritual body sticking to his hand, Kenro looked over at Lotcar, who had been blown away.

”I didn’t expect to find you here.”

”You too?” Lotcar swayed, spitting out a blood-stained fang in anger, his eyes wide, ”So it was you behind the incidents in our village!”

The black shield dissolved into black water, flowing beneath Kenro’s feet, forming a dark circle. The black hounds that had been tracking Lotcar’s group turned back into thin spiritual bodies, converging into the dark circle.

”I spoke more than I should have.”

Lotcar asked coldly, ”What exactly is your objective? Why are you helping that person persecute me?”

”That is a forbidden topic, not to be disclosed. All you need to understand right now,”

Kenro pointed his index finger at Bai Jin, who was preparing to fight from atop a carriage,

”is to hand over the girl behind you to me, otherwise, there’s only death ahead for you.”

It was Bai Jin, not herself, that he meant, leaving Iyas completely confused.

Bai Jin, however, seemed troubled, tightly clutching the magic wand her father had left her, likely aware of what Kenro was truly after.

”You’ve been given a dog’s chance to live, you wouldn’t want to die here, would you? Don’t you have something important to do?” Countless spiritual bodies rose beside Kenro, ready to strike, ”Is it really worth it to fight to protect them?”

”Whether it’s worth it is not for you to judge, but for me to decide.”

Lotcar stared intensely at Kenro, this man must know the truth about that day, and probably the conspiracy behind it too, but unlike before, Lotcar wasn’t recklessly pursuing the truth this time.

During the years he had spent in the Human World with Ying Luo, Lotcar had thought a lot, seen many aspects of this world, and was no longer ruled by anger as he once was.

Lotcar knew that this was Kenro’s pretext to betray him, and if he interfered with their plan, he would still be ruthlessly eliminated.

Since that was the case, there never had been a choice to begin with.

”Don’t forget what I just said.”

After giving Bai Jin and Iyas a reminder, Lotcar shook his silver mane, rising half-up like a werewolf, with his claws crossed and silver light converging to sketch an intersecting X across the ground, rushing towards Kenro with a howl.

Kenro raised his hand, and a spiritual body formed an incredibly hard wall in front of him, easily blocking Lotcar’s attack.

”Choosing to attack is truly foolish.”

Dark spiritual bodies sprouted from beneath his feet, swirling around Kenro’s arm to form a vortex. When Kenro swung his arm forward, the dark spiritual bodies on his hand sliced through the low bushes like terrifying blades, leaving ghastly gashes on the trunk of a large tree.

Iyas, holding Bai Jin’s hand, jumped onto Lotcar’s back, grabbing the hair on Lotcar’s back.

Lotcar leaped up, letting the black lines brush beneath him, the black lines grazing Lotcar’s fluffy tail, scattering white hairs in the woods.

But that was all, upon landing, Lotcar turned around and forcefully kicked the ground with his hind legs, stirring up a cloud of dust.

Pushing off with his hind legs, Lotcar tried to escape, but found something entangling his ankles, holding him back and making it difficult to move forward.

”I am capable of manipulating spiritual bodies, even if I close my eyes, the spiritual bodies will become my eyes, your little tricks are utterly useless.”

As the dust settled, the ones who had grabbed Lotcar were two spiritual arms stretching out from the black mass at Kenro’s feet.

The black arms pulled back, dragging Lotcar’s body backwards.

Turning over and propping himself up on his elbows, Bai Jin on Lotcar’s back shook her magic wand, and an ice spear emitting bursts of coldness formed in front of her.

With a ”whoosh”, the ice spear shot out, and Kenro once again manipulated the spiritual body, instantly breaking the ice spear into two with a hard spiritual shield.

Kenro’s face behind the mask couldn’t help but reveal a self-satisfied smile,

”No matter how much you struggle, it’s useless. You might as well come with me obediently! Maybe then I can spare your companion’s life.”

As soon as the voice fell, an arrow made of light pierced through the spiritual shield and penetrated Kenro’s shoulder.

Incredulously glancing at his own shoulder, and then looking down at Iyas standing high upon Lotcar’s shoulder, suddenly, Kenro let out a restrained cry of frustration in a voice much too childish for his large frame, sounding like a three-year-old who had been bullied.

”Oh, oh, oh, how dare you do this to me... you big bully! You’re bullying me, I’m going to tell my mom!”

Kenro’s strange reaction left Iyas and Bai Jin stunned for a moment.

During this period, only Lotcar didn’t stop to think. After confirming that the black shadows behind him were hard to break, Lotcar took a deep breath and howled a long howl into the sky, startling countless birds in the woods.

Hearing this howl, Kenro stopped his whining, wiped his tears with his hand, and nonchalantly covered his wound with black spiritual bodies,

”Trying to use your howl to confirm your location?

Indeed, it’s something a doomed dog would do.

Since you’ve seen things about me that shouldn’t be seen.

None of you shall escape.”
