Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 406: 406 I’m going to ask someone for help

Upon hearing Yang Yu’s instructions, Sekamens mentioned that the Silver Orchid Commerce could not be unguarded, that Yang Yu’s team needed manpower, and his own team could stay to help.

However, Yang Yu persisted repeatedly, saying it was extremely dangerous for them to stay here and it would be best to return to the country immediately.

Seeing Yang Yu’s resolute attitude, Sekamens had to give up. After advising Yang Yu to take extra care, he discussed with his teammates about the return to Tren.

Iyas, listening on the side, was confused but still made out that her brother might be in the hands of the Silver Orchid Commerce and that Yang Yu seemed to have anticipated that things would develop this way.

”Can you understand the situation now?” Yang Yu suddenly asked.

”I can barely understand most of it. Hake was likely bought by the Silver Orchid Commerce early on, which is why we couldn’t find any trace of him... right?”

Without any intention of hiding it, Yang Yu nodded, his expression extremely serious, ”To be honest, the situation is very bad now.

From the initial plan of joining hands with the Chaoyang Chamber of Commerce and lying in wait, to now identifying Hake and your identities, buying off Hake, they aim to lure us into a trap.

The Silver Orchid Commerce is more troublesome than we imagined, and they are also very patient.

However, I’m afraid this patience is only temporary.”

Iyas’s face showed a hint of impatience, but she quickly calmed down and confirmed with Yang Yu, ”You mean, if we don’t go to rescue Hake, he might be in danger?”

”Very likely. We don’t know their limit of waiting, but if they find out we are leaving this country, they’ll probably destroy the evidence.”

”Destroy the evidence?”

”If I were them, I would probably make the same choice. It’s a wise judgment.

From the current situation, they know somewhat of our whereabouts, but haven’t deployed much family power to attack us. Instead, they chose to post a bounty among the Underground Bounty Hunters.

They probably haven’t yet stabilized their foothold in Serti.

Although they hate us to the core, they are still focusing most of their energy on the survival of the commerce.

If the Underground Bounty Hunters can capture us, all the better for them. If not, the Silver Orchid Commerce will set traps everywhere and use Hake as bait to lure us into delivering ourselves into their hands.”

Hearing Yang Yu say this, Iyas involuntarily furrowed her brows.

Regardless of Hake’s current situation, as long as he is within the operational range of the Silver Orchid Commerce, they can always mobilize the forces who refuse to easily leave the commerce to set traps and chase them down.

What is even more fatal is, they cannot delay or leave this country. Once they leave, the Silver Orchid Commerce will definitely kill Hake by saying, ”Your sister’s love for you is just this much.”

Now, Iyas was in a dilemma. Rescuing her brother would put the team into unprecedented danger, but not going would leave her with a lifetime of regret.

”Iyas, what do you think we should do now...”

”I...”

”Speak your true feelings,” Yang Yu said calmly, ”Rescue or not?”

After struggling bitterly, Iyas finally expressed her true feelings, ”I want to rescue my brother, but I also don’t want to risk the team facing a potentially fatal danger. Isn’t there any perfect way to handle this?”

”It’s difficult. Once the operation starts, we have to face significant risks. Even up to now, I haven’t thought of a strategy that could completely avoid the risks.

But I have thought of a method that could reduce the risks.

However, implementing this plan is very difficult and has a high chance of failure.”

”After the failure, what risks are there? If it’s too dangerous, try thinking of other methods. Besides, since the other side has hired Bounty Hunters to hunt us down, can’t we hire some Bounty Hunters to sabotage them, and then seize the opportunity...”

Before Iyas could finish, Bai Jin interjected, ”Iyas, don’t think it’s that simple. Although Yang Yu has sold quite a few items and has accumulated some savings, it’s still far from enough to compete financially with a commerce guild.

Moreover, the Silver Orchid Commerce had previously made a fortune from the resurrection medicine.

A thin camel is still bigger than a horse. If Silver Orchid Commerce offers a bounty with a vast number of Gold Coins just for capturing us, the Bounty Hunters, driven by the bounty, would very well turn traitorous at the last moment and target us instead.

After all, capturing one person is much easier than antagonizing an entire commerce guild...”

Yang Yu agreed, ”As Bai Jin said, hiring Bounty Hunters to support us is the worst option.”

Iyas lowered her head in bitterness; she had thought she had come up with a good strategy, only to realize... it was too naive.

”However, the method I thought of also involves seeking reinforcements.”

Suddenly, Yang Yu changed his tone and showed his usual smile,

”I just don’t know if those reinforcements would be willing to help. Well, there’s no loss in trying. Let’s ask first, and if they refuse, we can think of something else. I have accepted your commission and will not allow this Task to fail.”

...

At that moment, in an old Trade Hall, a cage was placed in the center of the backyard.

Inside the cage, there was an extremely thin figure with delicate skin and a beautiful face, but his clothes were ragged, and his golden hair listlessly fell over his shoulders.

The sun shone directly on the cage, roasting the iron plate above, causing fierce heat to spread throughout the cage.

The metal bars were so hot that touching them felt like being burned, and the petite figure in the cage dared not approach the edges, instead hiding in the slightly cooler shadow in the center of the cage.

Suddenly, a bucket of ice water passed through the bars of the cage, unexpectedly splashing on him, and ice chunks loudly scattered beside him.

A youth dressed in fine clothes, holding the bucket, laughed heartily, ”You seem quite hot! I just wanted to cool you down a bit, it would be troublesome if you had heatstroke.”

Watching the elf shivering in the cage, the youth satisfiedly turned to leave.

But just as he turned around, he saw the Commerce Association President, who had a face as big as a pancake, approaching. He immediately straightened up and greeted the Big Pancake President loudly,

”Commerce Association President, hello!”

Big Pancake Face glanced at the cage, then turned and slapped the youth across the face, ”You bastard, I told you to take good care of him. Is this how you care for him?”

The young man covered his beaten face, furious, ”But it’s all because of his sister and those two people that our commerce guild has fallen to this state...”

”It’s their fault, not his! You’re old enough to learn to prioritize. He is important bait. Before luring them here, we need to ensure his safety. Now clean this up...”

”But...”

”There are no buts!”

Curling up in the cage, Hake heard the conversation between Big Pancake Face and the youth. He knew his sister was still alive and that he was being used as bait.

”Don’t come, sister. As long as you are alive, that’s enough...”

His pale lips parted and murmured softly.
