Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 409: Chapter 409 This thing, I’m just letting you take a look

According to Yang Yu’s instructions, Iyas had started from their village being attacked and continued until they recently learned that Hake was at Silver Orchid Commerce.

”The whole situation is like this.

Captain Gordon, we accepted the commission of this Elf Girl and traveled all the way to Serti.

Little did we know that Silver Orchid Commerce had already colluded with Sunrise Chamber of Commerce.

With our strength, rescuing her brother from these chambers, which loathe us to their core, is as difficult as ascending to the heavens. That’s why we wanted to ask for your help.”

Fiddling with the Magic Cube in his hand, Gordon emulated Yang Yu, attempting to restore the scrambled Magic Cube to its original state, but he still couldn’t grasp the trick.

”Indeed, if we intervene, you would easily rescue that elf named Hake from that chamber.

However, correspondingly, we must also bear a great amount of risk.

We are an S-level adventure group of Serti. As long as we operate within Serti, becoming enemies with Silver Orchid Commerce and Sunrise Chamber of Commerce is too dangerous.

We are also human, having our own limitations, and can’t fight against thousands alone.”

Before the team’s interest, Gordon was unexpectedly rational. Wan Jingzhihua nodded in agreement,

”You can certainly provide us valuable intelligence, but I don’t think the value of that intelligence outweighs the risk we would incur by helping you.

First, tell us all the information you know. We will assess its value and then decide whether to help you or not.”

Having expected the conversation to go this direction, Yang Yu relaxed his shoulders and leaned back on the soft sofa,

”I’m feeling a bit thirsty, a bit embarrassed to ask, but Sister Ajing, could you make me a cup of tea?”

Under her lenses, Wan Jingzhihua’s gaze was fixed on Yang Yu, anticipating that Yang Yu wouldn’t easily speak up or give up so easily.

But she certainly didn’t expect Yang Yu to unabashedly request a cup of tea, clearly signaling that he was preparing for a long battle.

However, since the other party was indeed a visitor, not having offered anything would have been quite impolite.

Even without the tea, they would have been prepared for a long negotiation. A cup of tea... shouldn’t matter much...

Without much thought, Wan Jingzhihua used magic to brew a cup of tea for everyone present.

Yang Yu calmly sat up, lifted the warm teacup, sipped it, and praised, ”This is indeed a fine tea, thank you for the hospitality.”

”Enough with the pleasantries,” Wan Jingzhihua said firmly, ”I have quite a few matters to deal with. If you’re not going to talk, please leave soon after you finish your tea.”

Slowly placing down the teacup, Yang Yu’s lips slightly curved up:

”I’m well aware that just possessing certain information can’t easily sway you. I’ve come prepared with quite a bit. I hope that after you see my sincerity, you’ll change your minds.”

”That depends on how substantial your sincerity is. Ordinary things definitely won’t move us.

Let’s make it clear beforehand, don’t think of pulling any clever tricks like you might have before.

Our patience is limited, do not wear it out time and again.”

Pushing up her glasses, Wan Jingzhihua warned. However, the reflection of Yang Yu in her lens was still composed. He then pulled out a Long Spear from the void, its smooth spearhead imbued with a mighty Power of Life and a hint of evil.

As soon as the Long Spear appeared, Captain Gordon and Wan Jingzhihua’s gaze was immediately drawn to it.

As an S-class adventure group, Red Blood Rose had seen numerous treasures and were proficient in treasure appraisal. They recognized at a glance the exceptional qualities of this Long Spear, a rarity they had only encountered a few times in their lives.

”What on earth did you get this thing from, and how did you get it?” Wan Jingzhihua demanded of Yang Yu and his comrades, as a weapon of this quality definitely shouldn’t belong to an adventurer of Yang Yu’s level.

”We found this weapon in the Underground Maze. We lacked the strength to conquer the maze, but we solved its puzzle and were fortunate to obtain this treasure.”

Yang Yu, holding the Long Spear with one hand, said with a smile,

”How about I pawn this weapon to you in exchange for your help?”

The scene fell into silence until, after a while, Captain Gordon’s hand, which had abruptly stopped, began to move over the Magic Cube again.

”You really are more interesting than I imagined. You’re not giving it away but pawning it, thinking that one day you’ll take it back, right?”

Yang Yu didn’t hide his intentions, ”This is the first Legendary Weapon I’ve acquired, and it holds great sentimental value. Of course, I’d want to take it back.

If it were not out of desperation, I would not have shown this treasure.

Let this weapon stay with you for a while. You can use it, store it for collection, or even use it for research.

However, the day I gain the same status and power as you, I will definitely take this back.

This item is just, let’s say, on loan to you for now.”

”That’s quite an ambitious tone. Taking back something that’s already in our possession isn’t going to be easy.”

While fidgeting with the Magic Cube, Captain Gordon finally got it to two faces and two layers, but it jammed again at the last layer; he slightly lifted the Magic Cube.

Yang Yu, understanding intuitively, took the Magic Cube and started rotating it with one hand, slowing down his movements.

Captain Gordon, able to clearly see each of Yang Yu’s moves and the state of every face of the Magic Cube, found his favorability towards Yang Yu sharply increasing.

Watching Yang Yu holding the Long Spear, Wan Jingzhihua admitted to being captivated by the treasure in Yang Yu’s hands. However, without clarity on the kind of information Yang Yu had, she couldn’t trust him,

”With your current strength, it’s still a long way before you can stand at our level. But since you’re so sincere, lending a bit of help isn’t out of the question.

Before that, I’ll repeat what I’ve said—if you can’t provide any valuable information and are just using this to start a conversation and deceive us...

You, should know the consequences, right?”

Wan Jingzhihua urged Yang Yu to confess everything he knew. More than the Long Spear in Yang Yu’s grip, Wan Jingzhihua was concerned about the creatures that had escaped from the Goblin Maze.

After shuffling the restored Magic Cube and passing it back to Captain Gordon, Yang Yu said nonchalantly and with a smile, ”Don’t worry, I too am curious about what you found on the eleventh floor of the Goblin Maze. Let’s exchange information.

I assure you, the information I provide will definitely surprise you.”

”What is it? Stop beating around the bush. Do you need me to repeat myself? My patience has its limits.”

”Since you’ve put it that way, it seems I need to reveal something to keep this conversation going. Alright, I’ll tell you a huge secret right now.”

Yang Yu paused, then said with deep meaning,

”The person who created the Goblin Maze is none other than the Legendary Hero Lux.”
