Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 418: Chapter 418: Do not make a move! Let me do it!

To prevent others from inspecting his face under the mask, Yang Yu had wrapped his face with bandages since morning, and now that he had successfully found Hake, Yang Yu was finally able to remove the bandages and breathe in some fresh air.

”There’s no issue anymore, you are much cleverer than your sister.”

Hearing Yang Yu’s calm voice, Hake stopped struggling, stood up nonchalantly, patted the dust off himself, and looked at Yang Yu with tearful eyes,

”Did my sister really send you to rescue me?”

Blowing on the black beak mask and putting it back on his face, Yang Yu asked in return,

”What do you think?”

”I believe you, no one would delve into such a place to save a stranger.”

Hake wiped the tears that had trickled down his cheeks, and his somewhat childish face showed a hint of deep-seated worry,

”How is my sister doing now?”

”Don’t worry, she’s safe now. Any other questions, let’s save them until after we get out of here.”

Having said that, Yang Yu signaled Hake to follow and quickly walked out of the basement.

At the entrance of the basement, a few servants were talking; Yang Yu eyed the wall and threw several Gold Coins.

The servants, hearing the sound of Gold Coins hitting the wall, simultaneously turned their gaze toward the source of the sound, saw glittering objects in the flower bed, hurried towards it, and began scrambling to pick up the Gold Coins.

Seizing the opportunity, Yang Yu picked up Hake, used ”Climbing” to ascend the wall to the corridor’s ceiling, then climbed up to the roof of the Trade Hall, and slid down the smooth tiles to the back of the bushes in the courtyard.

Several guards were patrolling behind the courtyard. Yang Yu repeated his earlier technique of throwing coins to distract the guards, used ”Climbing” again, and like a gust of wind, vaulted over the towering wall and landed on the streets of the town.

But even before Yang Yu could stabilize himself, he noticed a faint, insignificant glow emanating from the ragged clothes on Hake.

Intuition told Yang Yu that there was something odd about the ragged clothes Hake was wearing.

He opened the System, and sure enough, the name of the clothing on Hake changed in an instant from ragged clothes to specially made Magic Clothes.

”Huh? There’s such a trick? To put such an inconspicuous double safeguard, it even fooled the System’s assessment before activation.”

Yang Yu had anticipated everything, but he had not expected that the people from Silver Orchid Commerce had meddled with the ragged clothes on Hake.

The bottom of the cage and Hake’s clothes had corresponding Magic Arrays; if the person and the cage were separated by more than fifty meters, it would automatically trigger an alarm.

And Silver Orchid Commerce could also use a Crystal Ball to track the ragged clothes Hake wore to facilitate capture.

Yang Yu immediately tore Hake’s clothes to shreds. Hake, startled by this sudden action, blushed and hurriedly covered his body’s embarrassing parts with his hands,

”Why so sudden? I wasn’t ready.”

”There’s no time to explain. Some turbulence; don’t mind it.”

After speaking, Yang Yu directly took out a blanket to wrap up Hake, then tied him up with a rope, and afterward, carried Hake on his back like hauling rice and took off running.

But even if Yang Yu was fast, he wasn’t faster than the speed with which news reached Big Pancake Face’s ears.

Hake was simultaneously triggering the Magic Array and the Trade Hall’s alarm system. A sudden siren rang through the entire building.

Everyone in the hall immediately sprang into action, as rehearsed.

As he was discussing matters with Lord Gordon, Big Pancake Face’s color drained from his face. Why did they choose this time to appear, especially when they were hosting an important guest? Did they have a death wish?

Listening to the anxious siren, Gordon merely asked with a calm expression, ”Big Cake Commerce Chairman, what has happened?”

The corner of Big Pancake Face’s mouth twitched slightly as he forced a smile, ”It’s nothing serious, just possibly a few ignorant thieves targeting our association.

Don’t worry. We will resolve this matter quickly. Please, members of ’Red Blood Rose,’ wait here.”

”That won’t do,”

Gordon flatly refused Big Pancake Face’s suggestion,

”The Magic Potion Maker we brought along isn’t much of a fighter, and I’m really worried he might be in danger. Besides, to dare steal right in front of us is hubris. I must make an example of them.”

Facing such a distinguished figure, Big Pancake Face found it impossible to refuse and, resigning himself, agreed to lead the members of ”Red Blood Rose” to search for the intruders.

Soon, they reached the basement where Hake had been held and found four people lying on the ground.

Seeing their miserable state, Big Pancake Face couldn’t contain his anger and immediately shouted for someone to wake the four individuals and find out what had occurred.

Big Pancake Face turned green with rage as he listened to the recount.

”Lord Gordon, what on earth is going on? I need an explanation. What is the situation with this person named ’Old You Tiao’ from Plague Company?”

Despite trying to control himself, Big Pancake Face’s tone still carried a hint of anger.

Gordon, with a stern face, shook his head in disbelief, ”I too did not anticipate that things would escalate to this extent. Why on earth would he do such a thing?”

”Do we even need to think about it?” Hei Dou, touching the wounds on his body and boiling with rage, said, ”That Pharmacist must be in league with them! How could you, as a captain, allow such a suspicious person to join the team and even come to trade with us!”

Gordon raised his hand, and an Ice Cone shot from his fingertips, piercing Hei Dou’s shoulder and pinning him to the basement wall. Hei Dou’s fresh, hot blood had not yet hit the floor when it froze, becoming as cold as Gordon’s gaze.

”Don’t speak to me like that. I made an exception and let him temporarily become our Pharmacist after he saved Sena’s life. He has performed well, which is why I trusted him so much.

I didn’t expect this to happen.

I admit my mistake, but it is not for anyone to point it out so rudely. Show some respect before you speak.”

Everyone in the basement held their breath at this scene, unsure of what to say.

They all stared intently at Gordon, fearing that a single wrong word might leave them fixed to the wall.

Slowly regaining his composure, Gordon turned to Big Pancake Face,

”I am at fault here. That man deceived my trust solely to fulfill his own goals. I will not let him get away with this!

You are to refrain from acting. Leave everything to me. I will capture him and interrogate him thoroughly. If you dare to act recklessly, you will face the consequences.”

After speaking, Gordon waved his sleeve and left the basement.
