Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

75: Chapter 75 Script is Wrong 75: Chapter 75 Script is Wrong Eyelids twitching, Iyas slowly opened her eyes, greeted not by the familiar natural treehouse roof but by a ceiling pieced together from wooden planks.

Just as Iyas wondered why she was lying there, a slightly immature voice rang out beside her.

“Are you awake?”

Following the voice, she saw a young boy sitting in a chair nearby, holding a book and smiling warmly at her.

With his dark brown hair, black pupils, and semi-circular ears, he was clearly a human boy.

“My name is Yang Yu, don’t be scared, no one can hurt you now.

In short, I saved you.”

Saved me?

A flood of memories rushed into Iyas’s mind, images flashing before her eyes.

“Was all that, not a dream?”

Iyas wished everything she had seen was just a dream, but the ache in her body told her it was reality.

“Hake, where’s Hake?”

She threw off the blankets and stood up, searching the room for the slender figure from her memories, but aside from the boy, there was only a foreboding-looking human girl and a light blue Slime in the room.

Iyas’s fierce gaze met Yang Yu’s eyes.

“Where exactly is Hake!

Hey!

Answer me!”

“Calm down.” Yang Yu closed the book, stood up, and said, “First, I want to know, who exactly is this Hake you’re talking about?”

“Hake is my brother!

You despicable human!” Iyas picked up a broom beside the bed and aimed it at Yang Yu, “Tell me, where exactly did you take Hake!”

Yang Yu put down his book and raised his hands, a look of helplessness on his face.

“Miss Iyas, did you not hear what I said?

I said, I saved you.”

“Why do you know my name!

You must be in league with them!

Where exactly did you take Hake!”

This script is all wrong!

Iyas’s agitation far exceeded Yang Yu’s expectations, or rather, Yang Yu had never expected Iyas to be so agitated, which was a far cry from the script he had in mind.

According to Yang Yu’s imagination, upon waking up, the first thing Iyas would see was him, faithfully by her side.

And in her utter confusion, he would greet her with the gentlest words and eyes, deftly dropping that he was her lifesaver to create a tall, handsome, Prince Charming image in her eyes, mesmerizing her completely.

Then with just an invitation, Iyas would be starstruck and would readily join his team without any effort.

But reality was the exact opposite of what Yang Yu had imagined.

Yang Yu was secretly taken aback: “Such a hot-headed woman, what a waste of a pretty, naive face.”

With the plan failed, Yang Yu had to painstakingly explain, bit by bit.

“Don’t be nervous.

The reason I know your name is because it was written on the container where you were held.

Do you remember?

It was a dim place, with pipes covering the floor, and you were locked inside a glass container, used like a ‘Tool Man’ to produce medicines.”

Under Yang Yu’s patient explanation, Iyas’s deeper memories were awakened, and her angry, distorted expression gradually eased.

“After I was sold, I indeed have such a memory…

I also remember the room you mentioned.

After they force-fed me strange drugs, my consciousness became blurred, and when I woke up again, I had arrived here…”

Her gaze fell, and Iyas slightly lowered her clenched broom, seeming to understand what was going on.

Suddenly, a resolute look flashed across her face, and she fixed her gaze, gripped the broom again, and loudly questioned Yang Yu, “So, where is Hake!

What exactly have you done with Hake!”

Meow?

Meow?

Meow?

Yang Yu’s face was a question mark.

Sister, from what I just said, did you not understand, or did you not listen at all?

If I were with them, would I have put so much effort into carrying you back here?

“Calm down a bit.

We don’t know any Hake at all.

When we rescued you, we didn’t see anyone named Hake.

Think carefully about the last place you saw your brother.”

Upon hearing Yang Yu say this, continuous memories emerged in front of Iyas’s eyes.

Her hand holding the broom trembled slightly.

“Is that so?

He wasn’t sold with me…

so he might still be at the auction house!

I must go and save him!

If this continues, he will definitely be sold just like I was!” said Iyas, taking her broom and heading outside.

Could it be that while carrying her in a sack, I accidentally hit her head?

With a resigned expression, Yang Yu lowered his hands and turned to look at Iyas as she opened the door, “You seem completely fine, full of energy.

However, I must remind you, out on the street, we can’t see elves like you, and we are not far from the research institute.

If you go out, they might very likely capture you and take you back to the institute.”

This statement was not only a reminder but also a test to see if the elf would think calmly.

If she was indeed overwhelmed by anger, or simply shocked in the head, and ran out of the inn without caring for anything, Yang Yu wouldn’t mind tying her up, knocking her out, and splashing cold water on her to make her come to her senses.

However, this time Yang Yu was disappointed.

As she opened the door, Iyas hesitated noticeably.

After pausing for one or two seconds, Iyas closed the door, stepped back into the room, placed the broom back in its place, and bowed her head to Yang Yu and the others, “I’m sorry, I was rude just now.

I offer my sincere gratitude to you for rescuing me.”

Iyas’s attitude, so different from just a moment ago, took Yang Yu by surprise.

What, can’t we just talk nicely?

Does it really only take mentioning the harsh reality to make someone think clearly?

Yang Yu scratched his head, about to promise, “If you travel with us, we will help you find your brother,” to recruit Iyas when Iyas seriously said, “If possible, I hope you can extend your hand and help me rescue my brother!”

Things were developing as Yang Yu had envisioned, but Yang Yu was not happy at all.

Because what Iyas was saying seemed too self-evident.

“It’s not impossible!

But, what compensation can you offer me?” Yang Yu tentatively asked.

“Compensation?

Why is compensation needed?

Isn’t it natural for people in trouble to help each other?

Besides, it was your humans who first invaded our habitat, set fires in our homes, and captured our people.

By helping me, you would also be atoning for your humans’ sins.”

Hearing Iyas speak so assertively, Yang Yu finally understood why this elf was so irritable toward him.
